Last night I decided to go & have some takeout chicken from St. Hubert BBQ on St. Charles in Kirkland. I have to say that disappointing is an understatement. The chicken legs were small & so dry that it was inedible. It was borderline chicken jerky. The quality has been declining for the last few years, but I always gave them the benefit of doubt & continued to order from them. Unfortunately, I think that I may need to look for a new place to get my BBQ chicken fix.
70 $ pour souper je reçois ma salade César en livraison sans vinaigrette César rupture de mayonnaise en plus service très ordinaire pour le prix tant qu'à moi
Despite having a packed schedule, I deeply appreciate the ambiance & ritual of dining out. For me, stepping into a restaurant is like attending a live stage production-each member of the staff, from the cooks to the waitstaff, plays a role in orchestrating the experience. The final act, the presentation of the meal, is the satisfying dénouement. Everyone walks away fulfilled: the customer with a delicious meal, the server with a well-earned tip, & the restaurant with another satisfied guest.
However, with time being a rare luxury, many of us rely on takeout as the next best option. In today's fast-paced world, food delivery apps have made this incredibly convenient, whether it's through platforms like Uber Eats or a restaurant's delivery service. I tend to opt for pick-up. It's more cost-effective, & I like to double-check the order before leaving. After all, when kitchens are running at full speed, human errors can happen.
I've had a few instances over the years where something in the order was missing, which often leads to an awkward return trip & the uncomfortable feeling of having to'prove' your case. Sometimes, the interaction can be tense-something no customer (or staff member) enjoys.
This brings me to a recent experience with Restaurant St-Hubert, a restaurant I've been loyal to for over 25 years. Every Saturday, like clockwork, I place the same order through their app-just a few taps, payment confirmed, & I'm off to pick it up. It's become a comforting weekly ritual. However, this past Saturday, something felt off. The box was unusually light, & once I got home & wrestled through the tightly secured packaging-you practically need scissors to cut through those plastic ties-I discovered that the fries were missing. All that remained was a solitary chicken breast. I was understandably frustrated. It was such a simple order-how could something so basic be overlooked?
Still, instead of marching back to the restaurant, I decided to submit feedback through the app when prompted about my experience. To my surprise, within a minute, I received a $5 credit toward my next order. No phone calls, no arguments-just quick, courteous resolution. & sure enough, the following Saturday, everything was back to normal. The meal was complete &, once again, satisfying.
Some of my friends argued that I should have asked for a full refund. But honestly, is that the kind of society we want to live in-one where we capitalize on every minor mistake for maximum gain? I believe in fairness & understanding. Mistakes happen. What matters most is how a business responds, & Restaurant St-Hubert did so swiftly & respectfully.
This experience reminded me why I remain a loyal customer. Restaurant St-Hubert is more than just Quebec's top chicken restaurant-they consistently offer quality food, dependable service, & genuine customer care. They serve not only great rotisserie chicken, but also ribs, burgers, wraps & comforting seasonal fare. & when they get something wrong, they make it right-without drama.
In a world where good service is often taken for granted, it's important to give credit where it's due. So here's a heartfelt thank-you to St-Hubert-for making things right, for understanding the value of loyalty, & for being a reliable part of my weekly routine. Sometimes, a small act of good service deserves a big shout-out. @mtlrestorap
This is the worst location.. always stale & cold food.
They also need to get rid of the lady at take out counter.. she made sure I'll never return again .
The price on the site & in the restaurant & the take out restaurant are different! By a lot!!!
The chicken sandwich are over 20$ & it's disgusting!!!! Avoid at all cost!! Would never eat there again! Go to Madam Poulet sooo much better & at a lower cost!! Insane that this place is still open
We really enjoyed our chicken dinners with a generous portion of cole slaw! The chicken was moist & quite tasty.
Service was excellent. We really miss St. Hubert since they closed all of their locations in Toronto.
Bon restaurant, sauf que j ai trouvé cher changer 3,5$ pour un verre du jus pour enfants!
Our waitress Loris went above & beyond for us, she was friendly & very patience. We took my sister who is Autistic out for lunch on Sept 25th, 2025, she has special needs Loris was very accommodating. Thank you for the fabulous service.( I hope I got her name right that what it says on the bill.)
The food was fresh, hot & delicious too. Affordable lunch specials many different choices to choose from & portions are perfect size. My only complaint is the fries, they're the frozen kind, it's a shame St Hubert restaurants don't serve fresh cut fries like the other chicken restaurants.
Service impeccable, operation est rapide & de tres bonne qualités
Merci Camille pour la belle soirée! très beau restaurant
Belle équipe, belle ambiance & toujours du bon poulet!:)
I've been a fan of St. Hubert since I was a kid, & have always enjoyed their food, but this location can't seem to keep the same standard as the rest. In my experience, this location cuts down on portions significantly & someone still manages to deliver subpar food. For example I'll order a large family serving of fries, (as its cheaper to feed many people) & find the fries cold & undercooked, & the box only half the way full. Or the rotisserie chicken being overcooked & dry to the point where we feed a lot of it to our cat. I really can't fathom why this location in particular always manages to deliver a bad experience, no matter how many times I try giving them another chance. I've tried calling them, only to be ignored & hung up on, or placated by them saying they'll do better next time. The staff seem polite & the in store experience might be different, but as it stands the delivery service is well below that of every other restaurant in the area. If you want some solid advice, head to a different branch & save yourself the trouble.
Nous avions réservé pour un diner spécial de célébration & l'ambiance était super. La nourriture était très bonne & notre serveuse était très gentille & compétente spécialement pour un grand groupe.
