So delicious & reasonably priced! Service is top notch & friendly!
At the heart of NDG, by a beautiful park. My go-to for a classic chicken dinner since it's better than Saint-Hubert BBQ!
One of the best BBQ chicken in Montreal. Large chickens, not the usual small ones. Fast service. Fries are excellent.
Now you will notice I have it 5 stars for atmosphere even though it's all original & out dated. The reason why? Because it's out dated ! It's like going back into one's childhood & it's nostalgic. Food is yummy & predictably delicious. Portions are generous & the home made crisp fries & BBQ sauce are to die for. The chicken in any form is awesome because it a hot chicken sandwich or rotisserie style yummy. Pricing & value are totally there & a great place for a family meal. Not fancy but it gets the job done well. Dave the manager is always on top & making sure everything is done to his high standards. The customers are proof as most are patrons for generations. You have to go.
Love their chicken, bbq sauce & coleslaw! 12$ chicken leg or 14$ breast dinner lunch special
This place is okay, really nothing to write home about, if you want "BBQ" (If you want to pretend it's real BBQ) chicken it's decent enough. Nothing really stands out particularly about the food, it's your classic bland run of the mill'BBQ' place. The chicken is mostly flavourless & not anything to write home about, some stuff tastes like cheap canned food (avoid the hot chicken sandwich) I'd say I'd recommend this place, but I really wouldn't, go to a real BBQ restaurant like Moonshine on Monkland.
Chalet BBQ is nothing short of an icon in NDG, so talking trash about this establishment would be like insulting the Pope right in the Vatican. No danger of trash talking this place as far as I'm concerned. The chicken is moist & perfect, the fries are EXACTLY the way fries should be & the sauce is simply delicious. UPDATE: After a few years, we finally returned to Chalet BBQ to enjoy some delicious BBQ chicken. Food was just as good as before, but the service has deteriorated considerably. We were 2 couples & one of our friends are handicapped & had a problem with his legs. Even though we arrived late in the evening, with the restaurant 80% empty, the host/manager refused to give us the larger booth so our friend could sit & get up safely, instead telling us he was "...saving the booth for larger parties". Needless to say, no other parties arrived & the booth was left empty, while the 4 of us sat at a small table crowded in the corner. I grew up in NDG & all my friends & I practically lived in this restaurant. What an insulting'homecoming' that was. After being treated like Persona non Grata, we'll do this manager a favor & won't be returning.
Super poulet!! Belles portions! Bravo! À l'équipe du Chalet BBQ!😋👍
It's still the one....best BBQ chicken in our books! Very attentive service. Homey decoration, knotty pine. Challenge: Find the roosters in the decor 😀
If you want to visit one true Bar-B-Q chicken place, THIS IS THE PLACE, I can't see any other place in a 50-75 km distance that tops this place & I'm pretty sure there isn't in the province. this place is epic in any way. food is amazing, don't expect a very complex menu, this is old classics but done the right way. the place looks likes a log cabin... it's called chalet BBQ, what do you expect... these people knows how to deliver the due. this place is the only place I wanna go when it comes to BBQ chicken & it is probably the only remnants of an era where each hood had a BBQ place like this & still at that time Chalet was still top of my list (& I visited them all).
The standard for real BBQ chicken. Very moist & tender. Quebec fries. Sour Cole slaw. & their sauce.
winner winner chicken dinner 🥘
This old school place has the best chicken bbq I have tasted so far. I we got the hot chicken sandwich & the bbq chicken sandwich.
Chicken was good ;the bbq sauce was horrible. We could not use it. It had nasty taste with a cumin spice which was terrible . We were told by the waitress it takes a few meals to acquire the taste. No thanks we will never go back
Um must à Montréal.
