It wasn't a good experience for us. Waited half an hour to be seated in our booked seats & another 45m to get mediocre food with premium pricing. The cherry on top was a rude waiter with an attitude asking us weren't you supposed to leave already? - while we were eating & despite us having to wait for their delays in every item ordered, including the table itself. We had high hopes for this place but unfortunately left with a bitter taste.
We arrived on time. Very POOR greeting. Host asked us for our name. No welcome or anything. Just we need the table back in two hours. That's never a problem unless the restaurant is slow.. We eat out every week & never had such an unfriendly greeting. Especially since this was our first visit. Our server Valentin was amazing. Food was good & came steaming hot which is not always the case. The other annoying factor. We were at one of the Two Tops behind the bar. Only two were occupied & two were set. Staff were lazy & kept coming by & taking the cutlery off the table. This happened a few times & it was annoying. In any other restaurant staff would go to cutlery drawer. ROMIES should realize that when people eat out it's the WHOLE experience that counts. Need improvement in these areas.
The food was outstanding & the service impeccable. We had the fried zucchini, rib-eye & brooklyn chocolate cake for dessert. Thank you Kelsey for the amazing service!
The outdoor seating is nice. But honestly you can find better food elsewhere. 👎
So happy to see that this location reopened after the other restaurant closed down. The terrasse is beautiful! Had dinner here with a friend. Food was delicious with the standout items being the zucchini chips (please make this a permanent menu item!), the stracciatella & the cheesecake ice cream dessert. Would love to see fancy mocktails on the menu (although I was able to get a Virgin Caesar). Definitely worth a try!
Had a wonderful dinner at Romies! The staff was very accommodating to our group of 15 people & we were able to sit all together on their lovely terrace! the waiters were also very helpful & patient with us & made the experience, with the 10/10 food, super enjoyable 😊
Everything was great. Ambiance, food... Felix who was our waiter was awesome!
We went for a moms' dinner out to celebrate my friend's birthday. Great space & playlist. Everything we ate & drank was perfect. The best burger I have had because I love a good char, & the bun to be just right- Romies nailed it. Crispy bacon, the right melty cheese, perfect thin pickle slices. The clams were fab too - so fresh & delicious & the addition of tiny pasta was genius / plus the occasional crunch & nuttiness of hazelnuts made it next level. The side veg was a star dish in itself & we understood why it sells put at first bite. The corn & tomato salad highlighted the best of local summer corn & tomatoes & the creamy corn dressing & feta, onions & fried shallots. I could go back every day to try each of the tempting salads on the menu. Then there is the Brooklyn blackout cake. The whole dessert menu sounds dreamy but the BROOKLYN BLACKOUT CAKE with its Chocolate mousse frosting, cookie whipped cream & just a little crunch of flakey salt on top should not be missed / I don't care how full you are or if you don't usually like chocolate cake. Get it. Try it. Even if, like us, you can only eat one bite & have to take it home.
