Was looking forward to going since i had heard so many good things, unfortunately i wS disappointed.
First the bread they gave us seemed stale…not warm…
The cole slaw & pickles nice touch.
Ordered Cesar salad for 2… didn't enjoy it something in the salad was leaving a bad taste in my mouth…didn't finish it.
Ordered a medium Filet mignon….didn't get what i ordered bleedy red…didn't want to complain but i couldn't it was too bloody our waiter agreed & had the kitchen cook it a little more…it was tasteless & tough…didn't like it.
Ordered the fries got potato wedges which were not completely cooked.
Asparagus were tasty.
No wine, no cocktails, no dessert …cost us 325$ with tax & tip.
Service was good but food 👎sorry will not return nor recommend.View more

At the price we pay you would expect excellent service & food. Rockefeller oysters & potato was excellent but salad had too much mustard & steak was overcooked. As for the waiter we had to call him a few times ro the table for service. Bill for 2 people was 600$View more

Great food, I liked the seasoning on the tartare, delicious cesar salad & desserts. If you want a good restaurant & nice decor & ambiance & great food, this is the place for you. They deserve a 10/10. However, I do believe the prices are too high for what they offer, there are other good steakhouses with similar options & taste. But keep in mind it is high-end (valet, coat check, personalized experience, etc.) so I understand why some people would pay these prices.View more

New in Montreal my GF wanted to try a steakhouse & this place didn't disappoint at all. I think anytime we are in MTL this will be our go to. Their Caesar Salad was prepared in-front of us. Roasted Beef with baked potatoes. Everything hit different & now I can go back to Toronto in peace & with satisfaction.View more

Ce soir c'était notre première fois au rib n reef & nous n'avons pas été déçu de notre expérience. L'accueil, le concept était excellent mais que dire de la nourriture , la salade césar préparé à votre table la côte de boeuf (tout simplement la meilleure jamais manger) & le gâteau au fromage wow. Mention spéciale à notre serveur Patrick qui a été formidable il a su nous conseiller a merveille & Kyle le gérant à veillé à ce que tout soit à point . Déjà hâte d'y retourner.View more

Rib & reef overall was good! The atmosphere was great. Table side service ceaser salad & Tatar which adds to the atmosphere. Overall service was exceptional however it took a long time to get all our food. Steak was good & cooked perfectly. Not the best steakhouse in Montreal but an overall a good experience nonetheless. You can get something comparable at a much cheaper cost. There is also a cigar lounge upstairs which adds to the atmosphere.View more

Onion soup was a disaster.very salty & not a great cheese.Soft drinks over priced at $6.00 a drink. Tea $5.00. Sides over priced for quantity. Baked potato & fries enough for two people but not worth 32 dollars. Roast beef was very tasty but the amount was small for a 14 oz portion. Veal was tasty but pasta needed more cooking. Beautiful presentation of Caesar salad. & quite tasty.but not cheap.View more

Restaurant: 6/10, cigar lounge 8/10 My review is focused on the restaurant. Ordered the Caesar salad for the table (10/10 delicious) & the sirloin surf & turf with lobster tail. For the prices that they are charging, they really should have nailed the cook temp of both the steak & the lobster tail. My steak was overdone & under seasoned, while the lobster tail was quite good. Bathrooms are extremely cramped. Overall, not worth the money. This is like a fancy restaurant for people that don't know what a good restaurant is.View more

Our family loved it. We started with the Chorizo sausage (salty & good!!!), We shared a Ceasar Salad (Just wow!) & I shared a Tuna Tartare with my wife. Everything was just incredible & the sommelier made sure we got a great pairing with all of this. Try the fresh fish & the oysters (fresh, fresh, fresh). I took the Chilean SeaBass & it melted in my mouth. The rest of the family went for Rib steaks, garlic mash potatoes & why not: A poutine with Sauce au poivre. Fast forward to a mille-feuilles & a chocolate cake & we will remember that night for a long time. The service was impeccable too. Thank you! This is where you celebrate. On y triuve aussi unbcigar lounge situé à l'étage..moi qui n'était pas allée dans un resto aussi chic & dispendieux depuis des lunes, j'ai eu un service qui me rappelait celui de chez Moises ou La Queue de cheval..salade césar(avec option anchois les amis) est préparée devant vous directement à votre table! Always a delicious meal & great experience at Rib N Reef. Classic steakhouse with old time vibe, & 5-star service. The table side Caesar salad is the best anywhere & fun to watch it being created, it's a must-order appetizer. The sautéed rapini is so delicious. The steak was very tender, but lacked flavor, fortunately there was a head of roasted garlic on the plate. Lastly, one of the best crème brûle I've ever had!View more

Lohr a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon you bc any go wrong. The ambiance has a great old-school atmosphere. The service is attentive amd helpful. Unfortunately, the food is not up to for this type of establishement. The steak is just ok. The cesar salad felt wilted. Not fresh at all. The fries were overcooked & inedible. Unable to recommend this restaurant. There are much better options that offer much better value.View more

I went to Rib N Reef for a reunion last weekend. I was really looking forward to having our dinner there as the food was supposed to be amazing. We were 25 people in the wine cellar & we had a pre-set menu for the event. The service was very good, but the food...eh, not so much. We started with soup or salad. I had the ginger crab soup. Very salty, but I like salty so I didn't mind. Although a little spicy for my taste. Then there was either salmon, pasta or steak. I ordered the sirloin steak. It came with grilled vegetables & I chose the fries as my other side. What a disappointment! The steak was a bit tough & not a speck of seasoning on anything. Nothing. 100% bland. I had to laugh because the soup was so salty but the steak had nothing! Thank goodness they put some roasted garlic on the side & a salt shaker on the table! The veggies were good & the fries were just okay. Then we had caramel-drizzled chocolate cake for dessert...& coffee. I think the cake was the best part of the whole meal. Lol! Oh, & apparently the salmon was underwhelming as well. I'm just shocked that a high-end restaurant like Rib N Reef serves bland steaks. Anyway, the reunion was a lot of fun so that made it worth what we had to pay. But I would never go there again just for their food. There are a lot of places where you can get a great steak for less.View more

I went there on Feb 15th with my girlfriend for a valentine's dinner & we were both unhappy with our experience. I've been to Rib N Reef once before & it was good, but this time around our waitress was rude, the 28$ caesar salad was NOT good (they didn't charge me for it since we didn't eat it). Now for the best part we waited close to 2 hours to get our main dishes! I took a 14 ounce steak cooked medium & my girlfriend got the 10 oz Filet mignon medium rare, hers was beyond rare...she couldn't eat it. For 2 people, ended up being 160$ with tax & tip (NO WINE!!).
The worst part was how rude they were to me, after telling them I wanted to see a manager, my waitress told one of her friends (another waiter) he returned shortly & tells me out loud oh don't worry ill throw in dessert on me(in a very rude tone). After paying 160 for possibly my worst dining experience it's pretty clear I will never be returning.

From the moment you step inside Rib ‘N Reef, you know you’re in for a treat; the service is welcoming & the decor is elegant. My family & I recently went to celebrate a birthday, so obviously we went all out! We started off the meal with a bottle of white wine, that the waiter kindly suggested, & then ordered some appetizers. I ordered the Caesar salad; if you’ve been to The Rib before, then you already know that it’s prepared table-side. Not only was it entertaining to watch the waiter intricately prepare the salad before our eyes (the mayonnaise is made from scratch!), it was also delicious! For my main course, I had the scallops, & they were cooked perfectly, & tasted amazing! Of course, since I was there with family, we each had some “samples” of each other’s plates; each meal was succulent, & packed with flavour. Clearly, The Rib does both surf & turf very well! Overall, dinner at The Rib was a great experience; the staff was efficient, quick, & very friendly! I will DEFINETLY be back!
