First rate. I specifically chose them as apparently the only steakhouse on the Island grilling on real coal fires. Three of us shared a medium rare 34 Oz Porterhouse & two 2 lb. Maritime lobsters. Pommes Aligo & creamed baby spinach were delightful sides. Cold & grilled shrimp & delicately fried calamari served as appetizers. As my intention was to support Canada & Montreal we chose both white & red Quebec wines (ground $100 each) with the assistance of the knowledgeable sommelier. Desserts were Crème brûlée & crêpes Suzette, both perfect. After dinner drinks & smokes in the sophisticated cigar bar completed the experience. Service was perfect. Unobtrusive & respectful of our privacy, but ever-present to refresh our glasses & attend to our every need.
It was a flawless steakhouse experience from start to finish. Around $1200 CDN, but worth every Loonie for a memory that will last a lifetime.View more

Date night. My first time over on the east coast & my bf had to take me to this steakhouse. & they did not disappoint. I ordered filet mignonette, with lobster tail, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli & asparagus for our sides. I usually order medium rare, but ordered medium & it was melt in my mouth perfection!
The bread they bring for the table, came with two big pickles (I love pickles) & fresh coleslaw. We also ordered fresh oysters & escargot! Everything about this place was amazing! I'd obviously go back when I'm here again & for sure recommend!!View more
I had the pleasure of dining at Rib N Reef, & it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, & full of that classic, upscale steakhouse charm.
The service was impeccable & the staff were attentive, friendly, & made sure every detail was perfect without being intrusive.
While Rib N Reef is known for its steaks, I have to say I had the greatest Alfredo pasta I've ever tasted. It was rich, creamy, & packed with flavour, every bite was heavenly. It's not often you find a steakhouse that nails pasta like that, but they absolutely did!
If you're looking for an elevated dining experience, whether it's a special occasion or just a night out to indulge, Rib N Reef is the place to be. I can't wait to go back & experience it all over again!

Great food, I liked the seasoning on the tartare, delicious cesar salad & desserts. If you want a good restaurant & nice decor & ambiance & great food, this is the place for you. They deserve a 10/10. However, I do believe the prices are too high for what they offer, there are other good steakhouses with similar options & taste. But keep in mind it is high-end (valet, coat check, personalized experience, etc.) so I understand why some people would pay these prices.View more
New in Montreal my GF wanted to try a steakhouse & this place didn't disappoint at all. I think anytime we are in MTL this will be our go to. Their Caesar Salad was prepared in-front of us. Roasted Beef with baked potatoes. Everything hit different & now I can go back to Toronto in peace & with satisfaction.View more

Rib & reef overall was good! The atmosphere was great. Table side service ceaser salad & Tatar which adds to the atmosphere. Overall service was exceptional however it took a long time to get all our food. Steak was good & cooked perfectly. Not the best steakhouse in Montreal but an overall a good experience nonetheless. You can get something comparable at a much cheaper cost. There is also a cigar lounge upstairs which adds to the atmosphere.View more
The best Rockefeller oysters & shrimp cocktail I've ever had. Period. Succulent charred rib steak done to perfection. A plethora of steakhouse classics for your indulgence. An indescribably delicious homemade millefeuille. PK's game is among the best in the business. I've had the privilege of dining in some of the best steakhouses across North America over the past 30 years: Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, New York, Boston, Vancouver, Calgary, Dallas, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Nashville, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc....this is among the best of the best IMO.View more
Everything you could ask for & more! My husband & I went back to classic upscale Montreal steakhouse, Rib N Reef, for our wedding anniversary. He had the French Onion Soup Gratiné & I had the Lobster Bisque with chunks of lobster. Both were absolutely delicious. We both ordered the slow roasted Signature Roast Beef au jus with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The roast beef was served a little under medium-rare as requested, & the best we've eaten. The mash potatoes were creamy & mouth-watering. We had a comfortable semi-circular booth all to ourselves from which to enjoy the lively ambiance.The staff was friendly & attentive, & the service polished. We indulged in some superb wine to celebrate the occasion. Rib N Reef's award-winning wine list, expertly curated by incomparable Manager-Sommelier & Montreal treasure, Patrik Schmidt, has something for everyone. Always a delicious meal & great experience at Rib N Reef. Classic steakhouse with old time vibe, & 5-star service. The table side Caesar salad is the best anywhere & fun to watch it being created, it's a must-order appetizer. The sautéed rapini is so delicious. The steak was very tender, but lacked flavor, fortunately there was a head of roasted garlic on the plate. Lastly, one of the best crème brûle I've ever had!View more
Underwhelming evening. The food was decent, as expected from a high-end steakhouse. It is pricier than other steakhouses though. The serve was very disappointing. Plus, given we were a group larger than 6 people, they imposed an 18% tip on the after tax amount. J'aime bien aller quelques fois par année dans ce bon vieux steakhouse qui nous rappel avec ses banquettes la classe d'autrefois. Le service est toujours impeccable & il règne une ambiance spéciale qui nous donne le goût de revenir ce faire traiter aux petits oignons.
Rien de mieux qu'un bon repas copieux & d'aller finir le tout avec un bon vieux Scotch au cigar lounge!

Everything about this place is very posh, very clean, very service oriented. The is the best steakhouse experience I have had in years.
To be honest I was hoping to go try the other place with a strange name about a pony tail, but that spot was not reopened yet.
I was told that the restaurant Rib n Reef has been a well known favourite for many many years. One of the people I met for business 2 weeks ago told me that she used to come here for their roast beef, every week for years.
I can understand why. I had to try it. I also tasted a forkful of filet mignon. The bearnaise sauce was out of this world.
Montrealers are spoiled spoiled spoiled.
You do not know how lucky you are with all of these choices of good restaurants.
The caesar sald was made at the table. Have not seen that since my Las Vegas. All in all, a very satisfying lunch.
Have recommended it to all of my friends in Pennsylvania.
