Nozy is a truly unique experience in Montreal & one of the rare places where you can eat genuinely authentic Japanese cuisine. In a city where real Japanese food is surprisingly hard to find, Nozy really stands apart.

I was a big fan of the original restaurant, & the new venue fully lives up to its reputation. The cooking feels confident & thoughtful, with a clear respect for Japanese culinary traditions. Nothing feels overdone or designed to impress for the sake of it. The focus is clearly on quality, technique, & balance.

The uni is outstanding, fresh & creamy with a clean, delicate flavor. The sashimi is beautifully cut & impeccably fresh, letting the fish speak for itself. The unagi is perfectly cooked, tender & rich, with just the right amount of glaze. The chirashi is another highlight, generous & well balanced, with every element placed with care.

What really makes Nozy special is the delicacy of the food. The flavors are subtle & precise, never heavy, & everything feels intentional. It is the kind of meal you slow down for & really appreciate.
If you care about Japanese cuisine & authenticity, Nozy is an absolute must in Montreal.

I enjoyed my evening there, but I feel like the service could be enhanced. Prior to going, I asked them if they had uni tonight & they answered yes. When I arrived, the waitresses did not present me the menu (they did not indicate any specials or any unavailable items).

I asked the waitress if there was more or the same qty of uni in the salmon tuna don vs kaisen don, & she said they only had enough uni for the kaisen don, which I ordered. The bowl only came with one piece of uni, while all the content available online shows that the kaisen don has much more uni than only one piece. I feel like the restaurant makes better & more generous bowls for online content & content creators to attract clients, then sells a different one for customers in store, knowing that once they are sat, they are not likely to go elsewhere for dinner.

The food was good but this happened to me once at their previous location also (where they were out of uni when I was told they did), which makes me believe that this marketing strategy is part of the management of the restaurant. I find it disappointing as it ruins the overall experience, mostly knowing that they have 2 dons that are based with that ingredient.

Very fresh & really filling. Excellent quality tuna. Could be better for some of the uni, that was more of a hit or miss type of situation. But overall, great value for the premiums cuts that you get. Don't get the entrees platter, they were all pretty mid & not really worth it. Come here just for their speciality which is the dons.

Came here several times throughout the years & always liked their seafood options. I tried the omakase recently & it had a wide variety of fresh seafood such as uni, snow crab & scallops.

The service was quick & the server was friendly.

Sometimes it's a five star meal, other times it's a one star meal. On the right day, there are delicious Japanese specialties. Go on the wrong day & the uni bowl is a sad, swampy mess & the toro is pale & limp. The oysters have grit. Unfortunately, the prices remain the same either way.

If the chef wants to serve his customers, he might consider developing some table side manners. You're in the hospitality industry, why not act hospitable?

We had an amazing meal at nozy. The service was super fast & the food was delicious & well presented. The only problem is that we went on a Sat night & they were out of uni/toro so a few menu items were unavailable. Nonetheless very good & will come back to try other items. highly recommend the ceviche

Great food here, you never run out of options. A lot of rarities you can't get in other restaurants. My first time trying uni was here. They introduce new menu items & specialties often. Also I noticed your website seemed to be hacked? Compromised? It leads to a weird scammy page about winning stuff or the lottery, it wasn't like that before, I hope you can get it fixed. Also noticed the opening hours changed drastically, is there a reason it's only on Mondays now?

I recently tried the Omakase experience, & while it introduced me to new flavors, overall, it was just okay-nothing particularly special. Despite tasting some unique dishes, the bill was surprisingly over $200, which felt excessive. While the food was good, it didn't quite justify the high price tag. The restaurant itself is quite small, accommodating only a few customers at a time, so it's not ideal for group outings but more suited for intimate dates. On the positive side, the chef was very friendly, & I appreciate supporting local restaurants.

Ordered oysters, beef tataki, grilled octopus & ceviche as entrees & Kaisen don & Uni Tuna Salmon don as main. Everything was exceptional.

For me as a Japanese, this is definitely ranked in top 3 of my favourite Japanese restaurants. You should try Uni, Saumon, Bluefin tuna don.

Ordered the chirashi bowl for two. Everything was fresh & relish. Totoro tummy, uni, eels, salmon & the rice was all so flavourful! ---- Update 10/2023 I did not go back to that restaurant since the pandemic. Decided to try their Omakase that they serve during the weekend. The ingredients were amazingly fresh & I would definitely recommend to go for their all you can drink menu as well. Pricing was a bit expensive but worth the experience. If you're craving for some fresh Japanese seafood dishes, it is definitely worth going.

Amazingly fresh Japanese food. Sashimi was the best I've had in Montreal (I'm from Vancouver & have been to Hawaii a few times, so I have high standards lol). The uni was super fresh as well. Sake flight was great & had a fun variety.
