Had the tasting menu, come hungry, the best balance of meals. Must, must, must try the panisse a la provencale, radiocchio de parcelles & definitely cannot skip the truite de Montebelo! Thank you!
Relatively good, debatable value
Service was good but at this price point, the food needs to slap
Great place. Very warmly designed space that feels cozy. Food is amazing! Former chefs from various spaces like maison publique (RIP) & salle climatisee. How can you go wrong with that lineup?
The place is a vibe - Good spot for a date or friends night out.
Food is good but uneven - some dishes are a bit of a question mark, others are out of this planet. Any fish plate including the lobster is a home run.
Food was delicious, service was amazing & the restaurant has a very nice vibe. Definitely recommend going on a date here or having a fancy night out.
Had an amazing meal at Limbo. Everything was delicious from start to finish, the staff were great & very helpful guiding us through the menu & making suggestions. We will definitely be back!
« Is this the best neighborhood in North America? » my friend asked after our beautiful meal at Limbo. Strongly recommend.
What a great night I had today at Limbo! We were seated at the bar & had amazing service. Every dish we had was delightful: super flavourful & most importantly fresh. We took some bread to dip the sauces - a must. We ended with the strawberries & pepper yoghurt - super fresh. We unexpectedly walked in with a last min reservation & will definitely be back. Thank YOU for such a great night
The service is good & a nice conception. The food was good but felt like something was missing. Every appetizer dish was pretty plain.. when ordered heirloom tomatoes was expecting some kind of amazing sauce to pair it with.
The main dishes were fantastic. Both fish & pork were outstanding
service, repas, vin out of this world. je vais me rappeler de cette expérience toute ma vie! mention spéciale à l'oeuf à la neige avec la crème pâtissière à l'agastache; ayoye. les agencements de couleurs, de saveurs, & l'utilisation des produits locaux de saison ont été exécutés à merveille.
I came to this restaurant on a Wednesday night as part of a belated birthday celebration, driving in from NYC. As luck would have it, my Airbnb accommodations fell through last minute & I needed to bring my dog in order to make the reservation. Restaurant Limbo changed our seating to outdoors with zero issue or stress.
As non French speakers, our server Mathilde translated our menu for us in great detail. She gave serving size suggestions & recommended n/a beverages that were great. She truly made must feel confident in our ordering process.
Coming from nyc (& working in a Michelin restaurant myself), Restaurant Limbo set the bar high as our first Montreal dining experience. We tried several courses but the standouts included the Panisse, the Lamb Tartare, & the Morilles. All so flavorful & coursed beautifully. Conor also came to our table to check in & made our dessert recommendation knowing that we were looking for something light.
We finished off our meal with Oeuf à la neige- a merengue with cream & rhubarb. It might have been my favorite dish of the entire evening. So light & the perfect ending to a fantastic dining experience.
Thank you Restaurant Limbo, we will be back!
If you're looking for an overpriced one-bite tasting experience, this is the place for you.
Food, some dishes were tasty some ordinary, but definitely not enough for 2 to share & less so for 4 as recommended by server;
Meals served at different times so 4 people did not eat together but each couple watched the other eat;
Cocktails, overpriced for a tiny glass of slush with no hint of liquor;
Atmosphere, bland, kept door wide open on a cool rainy day made sitting by the door unpleasant & host refused to move us to back where it was still empty.
Service was acceptable by waitress but downright unacceptable from main host;
After spending $600, they had the gall to ask us to leave immediately after paying bill - better timing required for their reservations to avoid offending patrons;
A lesson in hospitality is in dire need.
Will definitely not return!
