About

Restaurant Foxy focuses on an open-flame cooking method that defines its entire culinary approach. Intense wood-fired heat transforms seasonal market produce into complex dishes while imparting a distinct, natural smokiness. The menu emphasizes raw ingredients sourced from local suppliers to ensure maximum freshness across every plate. Guests observe the preparation process as the live fire serves as the primary heat source for both proteins and vegetables. Every component of the meal benefits from controlled char and caramelization techniques developed through direct flame contact. This methodical integration of traditional grilling practices and modern market sensibilities produces a focused, ingredient-driven menu. The resulting dishes prioritize deep textures and earthy profiles that highlight the elemental nature of the cooking techniques used throughout the facility.

We had an amazing experience at foxy yesterday! The staff is really nice we just let them decided for our entire dinner they made us try all the classic & every single thing was a 10/10 the wine they served us was a perfect pairing even with the variety of food we had. I absolutely recommend this place thanks again to the team you made our experience memorable!

5/5 meal. Genuinely impressed. Every dish was spot on but the beef tartare & steak was the standout. Excellent wine pairings. Would definitely come back

I don't think I can say enough good things about this place.

I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants all around the world. A lot of them are generally tasting menus. Which I do believe foxy may offer. However, we chose the Comptoir chef seating. Which means we got to sit at the counter & watch the chefs in action it was such an amazing experience.

When you first walked into the restaurant, you can smell the wood because they cook everything over wood & it is such an amazing smell. It sets you up for a great experience right from the beginning.

We sat at the counter as I mentioned. At first, I was thinking while this counter is awfully tiny. How is this going to work. But I do find that the servers staggered the food & placed everything precariously in a way that made it all work. So yes, it's a small space but it worked just fine.

We ordered a bunch of items to share between the group. We started with the Scallop Crudo & the feta & pita. I personally loved the scallops more than the pita, but my coworkers loved the pita better. Then we moved on to The Little gem salad & the Capelletti pasta. Both were fantastic. Last we had maitake mushrooms & cod. The mushrooms were a meter event for me! I've obsessed with mushrooms, & this was absolutely incredible.

The server came by & asked if we wanted dessert. We decided to have oysters & carrots as our dessert. Lol we saw the chefs making them & they just looked so incredible that we couldn't resist.

This is going to sound really strange, but those carrots were really one of the highlights for me. I can't explain it. They were just so incredibly flavorful & it was something I will think about for a long time.

The only negative for me is that I didn't really love the wine selection that the server suggested. However, wine is such a personal preference that it's not really his fault. It just it wasn't for me.

Major shout out to Jenna. She was manning the oven closest to us. & she was doing everything with a smile. She was explaining the process to us. She was doing such an incredible job. She made the experience even more fun.

I will 100% come back here when I am back in Montreal.

One of the best meals we had in Montreal, & we particularly enjoyed the Bluefin Tartare, Maitake, & Kohlrabi. The sauce used for the Kohlrabi had a nice spicy punch which was really nice. The Grassfed Angus Beef was juicy & tender too!

Wanted to thank our server - Bruno, for being so welcoming & helpful! He was also very knowledgeable in explaining the menu & recommending the wines to pair with our food.

My wife & I flew in to & were in Montreal for one night before heading north for vacation. My wife, always spot on with her due diligence, made last minute reservations for bar seating. We could not have dined at a better restaurant…the drinks, the food, the atmosphere, the staff. All fantastic. We sat at the bar & Sabrina mixed some wicked good cocktails & her wine recommendations to pair with our meal were spot on. She was witty, conversing & engaging, as was a'friend of the bar' sitting adjacent to us. The owner was present & leading by example, working alongside her staff. We had a moment to chat with her & extend a thank you for the wonderful experience. Gracious & humble she was. Not a recommended dining experience; but a must do dining experience.

Very cool vibe, great service & great knowledge of the food/wine being offered. Food was very good, not top in Montreal. Still worth a visit
Top plates: flatbread, angus & lobster.
Skip: desserts & cavatelli

Lede to this review: our waiter was dreadful.
He abandoned us for half an hour at a time. He spent 5 full minutes consulting with a couple 3 tables down over their wine selection. The table to our left spent 35 awaiting their check after requesting it.
All told it was 30 minutes from being seated until our drinks arrived.
After that we were treated to additional attention from the hostess who was able to fill in gaps for her flailing colleague.
Service aside. The food was delicious!
We enjoyed an appetizer of the oysters, followed by the'radicchio' (a lovely salad complemented with purple & golden beets), the cavatappi (fantastic mushroomy, cheesy goodness), cauliflower (a bit austere, wouldn't order again), & the halibut (pictured; featuring a delectable dashi buttermilk sauce).

When the waiter is coming every two minutes, it's tough to relax. Also 265$ for (1) 17 oz steak (splitted between 3 persons), 2 beers & 2 glass of wine & an 5 inches small pizza appetizer. Might be exagerated! Also we been told the steak was 18 oz & the waiter didn't even know if it was 16 ou 17 or 18. At 120$ + tax for a steak, you should know right away. Despite that the place is lovely & warm.

Impeccable service, cool vibe, & a decent wine list. The food was overall okay but a bit pricey for its originality or portion, even considering that most of their dishes were tapas-style to share. For example, $24 for 6 oysters, which might be average in Griffintown but I saw many better price-quality. The duck was pretty good. The food menu is relatively small too.

First time & certainly not the last. Food was 10/10. Genevieve guided us & every recommended dish was better than the next. Honestly just delicious. As well all the wines she recommended & drinks were great .
