Review Summary

Reviews of Restaurant Cuisine Cantonaise present a mixed picture: many diners praise flavorful Cantonese dishes, generous portions, fast service, and a casual atmosphere, with standouts such as orange chicken, steamed pork with salted egg yolk, pipa tofu, fried rice, dumplings, and hot pot, and some even calling it a reliable late night option in Chinatown. Yet cleanliness and maintenance are a frequent concern, with reports of poor hygiene, pests, odors, and outdated decor weighing on the experience. Quality can also vary, including complaints about underdone dumplings, overcooked duck, and dishes that taste microwaved or not prepared as expected, along with occasional misfired orders and limited English communication making complaints difficult. Despite these issues, staff are often described as friendly and attentive, portions are large, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant remains a popular pick for sharing meals and casual dining. The overall takeaway is that a meal here can be delicious and satisfying, but the experience may depend on day, dish, and expectations about cleanliness and service.

Came here for late night supper after spa day at Bota Bota, place was still open at 10pm. Got pipa tofu, steamed pork with salted egg yolk (very tradish homey Canto dish, perfect with rice) & beef noodles (gan chow ngo hor) hit the spot perfectl

Portion is very generous & affordable pricing. The soup noodles i had was a little bit salty. But that could be due to the roast pork. Service is prompt & atmosphere is cosy.

Visiting Montreal from Mississauga & decided to go to Chinatown for a small meal. Went at around 7 PM so it was quite busy, but we were luckily able to find a seat right away. We ordered fried pork intestines, a veggie dish & crispy pigeon. The fried pork intestines had nice flavour & a nice crispy exterior. The veggie dish was flavourful & they gave a huge portion. Only downside was that it was a bit tough. The crispy pigeon was delicious as it has a nice crunch to it, it tasted like a combination of duck & pork. All in all the food was good & veggie portion was massive. One major con is that the meat dishes were a bit small in portion size & the price was expensive for what you get. But a good experience overall for my first restaurant while visiting Montreal.
