I have only heard good things. For my personal taste it was not it. The best thing I had was the mackerel toast. When it come to these types of restaurants I love to rely on guidance from our waiter on ordering & whether or not our order is well-balanced & hitting on their most recommended dishes. I did not get that experience. What was ordered: Mackerel toast 10/10 - Absolutely phenomenal . Layered with buttery & bright flavours all while topped with a fresh piece of fish. No complaints amazing!! Would eat 3 of these. Clams & artichoke 6/10 Very subtle & almost bland. Did not do it for me. Some type of rillettes (not pictured) 8/10 Was very good, but at this point Was frustrated to keep on eating dishes that were paired with a piece of bread or on toast. This is where I would've appreciated more guidance to not have ordered so many toast pairings. Pork chop 7/10 Was fine. My partner loved it. I have had better. Was cooked great, but not running back for it. Very generous portion.View more
Truly a must in Montreal - very deserving of its position in Canada's top 100 restaurants. We were greated by an attentive waiter who we later learned was co-owner Pablo Schor. He made us feel like family. I have a fairly detailed list of allergies which he took care of professionally & definitively - I was able to taste most items on the menu thanks to his input & help. A truly wonderful overall experience thanks to the quality of the food, service & general vibes. 10/10 do wholly recommend!View more
Great experience. Charming little restaurant with excellent food. Only made better by magnificent service from Antoine. Couple of standout dishes: Tuna with cold capellini with tomatoes - Didn't expect this to work but it did. Grated tomatoes with garlic reminded me of pan con tomate. Tuna was of exceptional quality. Grilled Rabbit, yellowfoot chanterelles grenobloise - First time having rabbit, & it was beautifully cooked. Montadito mackerel, sesame, horseradish - Looks simple but delightfully balancedView more
the food: super good especially this duck, traditional style, super tasty as if you had a meal made by your grandmother ... really I recommend 5/5View more
Unpretentious. Great & delicious. food, great ambiance & friendly professional service. You can tell they cook what they want to eat. The knish dough is made with schmaltz & with the with caviar was like having my bubby's knish on acid. It was my third time & I will go again.View more
OH MY GAWD! What a wonderful experience my wife & I had at this place! Great cocktails & fantastic food! We started out with a Knish & mackerel! Clams & wild board on sourdough bread! Main was a fantastic rabbit! Desserts were to die for! But the service took the experience to the next level! Kind, hard working & dedicated team! Kudos to the team! Bravo! 🙌View more
Quite possibly the best meal I've ever had in Montreal. From the cured Japanese mackerel on sesame buns to the caviar topped-knishes to the pastrami brined beef tongue...oh my lord this place was fantastic. Excellent cocktails & like everywhere else I've eaten in this great city, the service was unmatched!View more
Beba isn't so much a restaurant, but more an extension of the owners' own kitchen. Although this place takes its roots mainly from Italian, Spanish, & Argentinian cultures, I think they can claim a little French inspiration as the term "Bon Vivant" is exactly how I would describe the duo behind Beba. Ari & Pablo are exceptionally skilled in the art of hospitality & the rest of their team does not fall short on delivering the same. The definition of unpretentious yet highly attentive service. Super patient, knowledgeable, & willing to accommodate vegetarian diet without fuss (& certainly without serving just salad). The dishes are not overly complex, sometimes only 3-4 ingredients, but they are extremely precise & invoke wonderful emotions. The passion of Ari, Pablo, & their team is strongly conveyed in everything they put in front of you & their eyes would light up while discussing a specific ingredient or wine producer. Having tried a lot of restaurants in Montreal, this place is our new benchmark & even sits above some of the best restaurants we have visited abroad. Our only regret is not coming here sooner! Aside from cocktails, we let the chef & the bar decide what we ate & drank & I can't suggest this approach enough. Price tag on the experience is not low, but worth every penny & we honestly expected a way higher bill with what was brought out. This was a birthday dinner, & we didn't even let the staff know until the end. We forgot to mention it when we arrived but as the night went on, we were treated like royalty & didn't even think to mention it! Although, this seemed to be the normal level of service for all patrons. Thank you for the wonderful experience & until next time!View more
Had very high expectations going into this considering how it's ranked #8 on Canada's top restaurants, but the food was very disappointing. No unique flavours, everything tasted very bland. We got the mackerel, rabbit, octopus, salad, & lamb. Especially for the price of the dishes, it was a big let down. Service was great though.View more
Amazing meal! This place certainly deserves its national recognition. Every dish is a masterpiece with bold flavours & a level of craftsmanship that is rarely found. If you can get a table, lucky you!View more

This is the best meal I've ever had. The knishes with caviar were amazing. The Mackerel Montadito with sesame & horseradish was just incredible. The cavatelli was delicious & just the right type of pasta for that sauce. We then had pastrami brined beef tongue on paella & there are no words to describe this. The pastrami brined beef tongue was the best meat I've ever eaten by far. I was blown away. The pistachio semifreddo was incredible & just the perfect balance & sweet mixed with a bit of saltiness. Just incredible. They definitely deserve their spot on Canada's 100 best restaurant list. While I loved the number 1 restaurant in Canada last year (named after an animal with long ears) I was left disappointed by them this year & would say Beba should take #1.View more
First time trying it, & it was amazing! Must visit, the tasting menu, even though is pricey, its worth every penny, lots of food, great flavours, variety, freshness & great service, one of the few places in montreal where I'm happy tipping 18-20% because of how much they care & accommodate. Would be back, love it!View more
Beba really impressed me. You can tell the quality of the food is amazing.View more
Had the pleasure of eating at Beba on Sunday. I don't think of myself as a foodie - I have a lot of food restrictions (gluten & dairy free :( ) so it's a tough thing to participate in but I had family in town who really wanted to go here. I am always hyper aware of what a pain it is to accommodate food restrictions (I'm so sorry :( ) so I had written in advance to ask about the menu. The response couldn't have been more gracious & the server went out of their way to ask a lot of questions. So for the allergy & intolerance buds, this place is a win. Someone was getting trained in the kitchen while we were there & it was comforting to see the amount of patience being demonstrated towards them. Open kitchens put extra pressure on people but everyone seemed to be communicating kindly. (One of many ways that Beba comes off as progressive & fresh - it's hard to imagine one of these chefs having an old school meltdown) They made service look effortless even though it surely isn't considering the care put into the food. The cocktails were perfect. They seemed to be mostly *slight* twists on classics. No smoke bubble bullshit just like a hint of lavender. The (modified) food I had was great & I can only assume that in it's intended dairy & gluten having form it's even better. I have to say I didn't feel quite cool enough to be there but that was entirely on me. It's beautiful inside - from the tableware to the customers - & outside where there's an adorable little patio area). My thought leaving this restaurant was that the staff deserve to be proud of themselves & of their workplace. There aren't a lot of restaurants able to convey this level of grace & elegance. Thank you for all your hard work.View more
Loved the food, specially the bone marrow. We went there for our anniversary & we would highly recommendView more
First rate experience in every respect. The food is unique & delicious--a fusion of many styles, reflecting the diverse experience of the chefs. The service was attentive & personal. We were visiting Montreal for a wedding, but the locals we brought with us will be back!View more
One of the best bites I have had in a while. The Foie Peach Pie special was off the charts, my 4 year old son ordered a second slice for dessert. Not sure what people are expecting? I think the chefs cook honest delicious food.View more
Coming here with the expectation the food will be amazing considering to be on No.8 best100Canada. However I must say it is disappointed. The mackerel is amazing, nicely cured. However the special of the day( chicken wing, boneless then molded & cold on a foie pepper sauce), it sounds amazing when the server told us but the presentation is like coming from a can in a supermarket sample product. The bone marrow is super salty, make it quite unpleasant to eat The rabbit is the star of night (recommended anything on the grill is amazing) paired with the salad. The flan is very good actually. The other things here is the food came out so long , I came at 5:45, had 3 dishes came out quite fast (in 1 hour) but waited 45 minuted for the main course (the rabbit with the salad) which is quite unacceptable. 2 hours 30 minutes for dinner for 2 people is very long - the server is very attentive & cleaning our table quite often, but suggest to course out things better (if the rabbit take long to cook, consider Fire it first then send out the bone marrow) I must say 2 line cooks & a dishwasher to cook for an always busy restaurant is quite amazing, but hopefully they can somehow make the service faster.View more
