🥢 Ramen Nakamichi = ramen heaven!
Incredible bowl - rich broth, springy noodles, melt-in-your-mouth chashu, & that perfect jammy egg 🥚. The Ramune soda was a nostalgic, fizzy bonus 🥤. Cozy vibes & great service too!
Already craving my next visit 😋🔥Voir plus
Great ramen with flavourful, rich broth & great noodles. Hakata ramen came with a generous serving of meat & nori. Probably the best ramen I had in Montreal!Voir plus
Lovely ramen spot with a chill atmosphere.
The value you get for the price is great, the ramen is filling, with lots of toppings & creamy broth. The side dishes were equally tasty. Overall solid amount of selection on the menu.
The restaurant itself is bright & quiet & the staff is very nice. We'll be coming back for sure :)Voir plus
Love the broth & the relax ambiance !
My fav ramen in Mile .
Under hyped, unknownVoir plus
The menu is short & straight to the point. We ordered the spicy premium that came with tender pork that melted in your mouth, a jammy hard boiled egg & all the toppings. The broth was deliciously comforting. It may seem like a small bowl at first but it is a very hearty dish. Left feeling warm & fuzzy. We went on a Friday night & it was quiet, i believe this is more a lunch spot. I almost felt like we needed to whisper it was such a zen ambiance. Service was a little slow.Voir plus
The ramen was hot & tasty but it was a pretty small bowl. They do have chicken broth. The restaurant was really under staffed there was just one girl doing the entire front of house & she was clearly overwhelmed at lunch rush.Voir plus
I'm a bit mixed about this place. On one hand, it's charmingly decorated, & the broth & noodles were quite decently good. However, the toppings, like arugula & raw onion, felt a bit odd to me, & the service left something to be desired. To put it simply: I wouldn't mind going back if a friend suggested it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return on my own.Voir plus
Favorite ramen place in Montreal, they stand out with some relatively unique options, their broth is delicious but doesn't feel too heavy or greasy, the ingredients & how these are prepared give the dish a premium feel, other places with more typical tonkotsu ramen tend to leave me feeling heavier with everything kind of blending in together (broth overpowering other ingredients) whereas it feels more balanced here. Highly recommended, prices are also fair.Voir plus
I love soup noodles. So it's not surprising that I would fallen for this ramen-ya that we chanced upon wandering around Mile End of Montreal - a far flung Mile End that I'm used to in London, UK. This modern clean lines decor looked more like a Japanese tea shop from the outside. It is summer & they have advertised cold ramen on a placard outside. Once inside, I saw the big poster for the Tokyo style (chicken soup) ramen. A bit of disclaimer, I had already had a Canadian omelette (with chilli) & some poutine classique from two well known establishments in Montreal this morning - & this shop has just opened at 11.30 am with a queue of eager eaters. I thought we have to give it a go - even if it is just a snack. The summer cold noodle was refreshing. The slightly citrus taste lifts the pickled veg. I liked it, but the main event is another level. The chicken broth & the ramen were delicious. The noodles had the right level of chewiness. They were soft & smooth. I know it's not right in the western culture to slurp - but these were made for slurping. & as a lover of Japanese food - I felt obliged to do them justice - for the benefit & respect of the chef! Try them & you will be delighted!Voir plus
Their Tokyo Shoyu ramen is easily one of the very best , right now, in Montreal: you had the textbook flavour profile, an elite broth as well as some of the very best noodles to be found at a local ramenya. I wish the chashu would knock my socks off, but theirs is still a perfectly legit chashu (in Japan, ramenyas have all sorts of chashu. You may prefer some more than others, but there's not one firm type of chashu but plenty).Voir plus
I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. Service was great, no complaints there. The broth itself is great, as were the noodles. I've never had chicken based ramen before but I'm a fan. I got the rouge, & it had a lovely warming level of spice without being overpowering. The noodles were also wonderful: chewy & springy, not overcooked at all. Arugula is frankly not good on ramen. I ended up eating around it. I ordered mine without the red onions, maybe they'd be good. But to me, putting diced red onions on ramen doesn't sound appealing at all. I'm glad the menu mentions their appearance. The egg was slightly overcooked & I see other reviews mentioning this as well. It's served whole, so they obviously can't tell beforehand, but I appreciate that you get the whole egg. Some places only give half. The pork was tender, it lacked any noticeable char but still tasted great. There was a very small amount, but you can order the "premium" to get an extra portion of pork. Their prices are marginally cheaper than other places in the neighbourhood, but it seems like their portions are slightly smaller as well. I'd go again but ask for no arugula or red onion.Voir plus
Love this place, disregard the 1 star reviews. Broth is excellent, & is in my top 3 in MTL. I go to one ramen shop for a quick in & out lunch, to another for a better broth despite it being very busy. & I come here for some quiet, calmer outing, plus it feels like a more "personal" experience with the chef & the waiter. I'll be leaning towards this one more with the family as it's easier to talk & involve the toddleVoir plus
Updated review 7 years after : old brand, new location, new recipes. Not the same thing... broth was decent. Noodles were good. Chasu was super thin, very basic garnishments, eggs... eggs my god! Hard boiled eggs they were! See picture. Original review 7 years ago : You do not know what real ramen are until you try this place. If you want fat pork & lots of salty noodle go to Mosiya. If you want the real stuff check this place out!Voir plus
Delicious broth, very good service. One of the best ramen restaurants in Montreal!Voir plus
I really wished I could give 5 stars. It's my first eating Tsuke-Men in Montreal & the flavour was actually pretty good. However, to make the noodle chewy, I believe they washed/rinsed with (very) cold water, so even the broth was hot at first, the noodle/broth became room temperature after few dips. I am a hot soup believer & this made my experience less enjoyable. If you are a person like me, probably order ramen instead might be a better idea.Voir plus
This ramen restaurant impressed me with its swift service. The Truffle Vegetable Broth was a revelation absolutely delicious & bursting with flavor. The rich, savory broth, infused with the earthy essence of truffle, was a true delight for the senses. The portion was perfectly proportioned for a satisfying meal, leaving me comfortably full but not overly stuffed. The restaurant's decor is a captivating blend of the old & the new. Historical artifacts depicting the rich history of ramen share space with vintage typewriters & a collection of Japanese literature, creating a truly immersive dining experience. It's no wonder this establishment is a popular choice for ramen enthusiasts the combination of delicious food, attentive service, anda fascinating atmosphere makes it a must-visit.Voir plus
First I have to mention the great service & the nice atmosphere of the place. I had the white premium ramen. It was a decent size bowl, the ramen are rather thick. The broth is delicious, smooth & silky. At 20$ for the bowl its cheap in my eyes considering they are very generous with the proteins. The only disappointment was regarding the egg I wish it was marinated but its only a soft boil egg, mine was a bit overcooked. Overall I recommend it if you are a fan of authentic ramen!Voir plus
Very nice cozy ramen shop. Had their ramen tampopo & the broth was clear, light, yet satisfyingly comforting. The extra egg, yuzu & vinegar ginger help elevate the flavorful broth with a bit of acidity & earthy notes. Also took the karage which was a delight. The chicken is seasoned well, crunchy & juicy. Can't wait to try the tsuke-men next time!Voir plus
Very good broth for the ramen, the fried chicken appetizer comes with a nice sauce, was great. The Yuzu1642 soda was great as well, I liked it more than Ramune. The staff was very nice. Happy new year!Voir plus
IMO, it is unequivocally the best ramen in Montréal. The broth is creamy, flavourful, & perfect for a winter (or any) day.Voir plus
Their broth is so wholesome & rich. Noodles (thick)are well-cooked, not too hard or soft. The boiled egg is cooked to perfection!! The charsiu is all meat, less fat, which I love. Staff was friendly. I'm sad it's not in NYC!Voir plus
I think this is the best ramen in the neighbourhood. The noodles & broth are impeccable, & though it's a different sort than most others in the city, it's richness & quality is unparalleled. Service has always been wonderful. I wish the lights were a little dimmer around the dinner hour, but there you are.Voir plus
I had my very first visit to Montreal from Toronto, & I discovered Ramen Namakichi. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating of my vegetarian diet & allergies to onions & garlic (I'm pretty sure he remembers me now), going above & beyond to ensure my meal was both safe & delicious. The vegetarian ramen - Vegetable broth Struffe, was a standout. & being a Naruto fan, it was nice seeing some Naruto inspired options in the menu. I had a wonderful experience & surely recommend this place.Voir plus
My spouse & I are vegetarian so we are always on the hunt for excellent vegetarian ramen.
We were very pleased to see multiple vegetarian options & vegetarian flexibility at Ramen Nakamichi. I had thought from other reviews that the restaurant was vegan - it is not.
I got the veg spicy & my partner got the veg truffle. Both were very good - even with some surprising toppings like raw red onion, arugula, & crisped rice. The broth was lighter than others we've had. The spicy was a bit overpowering on the spicy ramen. The truffle flavor on the truffle ramen was just right. Also got the matcha latte - delightful!
Thank you to the staff - they were very helpful; the atmosphere was cozy; & it was a fairly easy place to eat with our 5-month old in a stroller.
