The best delicious & authentic punjabi food Amritsari kulcha, masala chai, & parathas ❤?😋😋 with good service. It becomes our ritual to visit this place for brunch whenever we visit Montreal.
Punjab Canteen might not win any awards for ambience-it's a simple, no-frills setup-but if you're looking for authentic, delicious Indian food with warm, genuine service, this place is a gem.
Our family was in Montreal for four days & tried 7-8 different Indian restaurants, including some highly rated fine dining spots. But when it came to actual taste & hospitality, Punjab Canteen stood out by a mile. We ended up coming back every single day for brunch because nothing else came close.
Highly recommend the Amritsari kulcha-crispy, flavorful, & served with a comforting chole. The yellow dal was soulful & home-style, & both the chaat & bread pakora hit the spot. Real, honest food.
A big shoutout to Balram & Muskan, who made us feel like family each time we visited. If you care more about what's on your plate than the decor around you, this is absolutely worth a visit.
The establishment maintains high standards of cleanliness & upkeep, creating a welcoming atmosphere for diners. Guests can enjoy authentic Desi cuisine that's both delicious & affordable, offering great value for the wallet-conscious consumer.
The food is very tasty, parathas are delicious. I would request owner to serve butter to maintain authenticity of the dishes. Margarine is not butter :) You have good taste among other restaurants, you shouldn't be short sighted. Pls choose quality ingredients & you will be surprised by your customer's rewards for it. Looking forward to butter with paranthas next time :)

Récemment j'suis tombé sur ce resto punjabi franchement super ! l'hygiène y est impeccable, les ingrédients frais à souhait pis l'ambiance tellement détendue. En plus c'est pas trop cher du tout pour la qualité, l'équipe au top, souriante pis pro. Un régal ces saveurs authentiques, j'vous l'recommande chaudement si vous cherchez d'la vraie bouffe indienne. Recently I came across this really great Punjabi restaurant! The hygiene is impeccable, the ingredients are as fresh as you want & the atmosphere is so relaxed. Plus it's not too expensive at all for the quality, the team is great, smiling & professional. These authentic flavors are a treat, I highly recommend it if you're looking for real Indian food.
At a loss of words for how awesome this place is. 🤤🤤 Everything is 10/10. Highly recommended. Do not go to any other place in Montreal if you wanna try authentic indian.
You won't believe how spot-on the authentic desi cuisine is here, & the prices just add to the appeal. The atmosphere makes you feel right at home, & the staff couldn't be friendlier. Definitely a gem for anyone craving some good Indian food.

Just ordered some Indo-Pakistani cuisine that's so authentic, it made my taste buds file for a passport! Lamb Vindaloo, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, & a cold Unibroue to wash it down. Warning: the Vindaloo is so spicy, it could negotiate peace treaties. & the portions? Let's just say you'll need backup. Food was amazing....such authentic taste after so long. & the staff was friendly & attended us nicely. They have good vegetarian food options as well as tiffin available.
La Punjab Cantine was absolutely amazing. There was no waiting line for us when we came - around 9 - & we got a table inside, though both outdoor & indoor settings were pretty. There was great music & a mild crowd, which was surprisingly pleasant! The staff was warm & welcoming, providing a sense of comfort for us, which was really nice. The place has wonderful ambience. The food came fairly quickly after we ordered, about ten to fifteen minutes, at a very reasonable price. The food was so good.The Kulcha plate was super yummy , the best was Gobhi Paratha!! We loved the samosa chaat too. It was authentic in a way that is hard to find anywhere. This is a must visit in Montreal that we will definitely revisit.
