Pub Saint?Pierre is an absolute gem in the Old Port.
I had the joue de boeuf & the beef tartare, & both were outstanding, rich, perfectly prepared, & full of flavor. The food was genuinely delicious.
The ambience is lively yet cozy, making it a great spot whether you're out for dinner or drinks, & the cocktails were amazing, creative & well balanced.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, great drinks, & a fantastic atmosphere in Old Montréal.
Tonight, we started at Barrelman's on the second floor for premium house cocktails & slowly braised beef cheek (oh the pink peppercorns, so good) melts in your mouth send back the knife not needed here! Second appetiser burrata on tomatoes with pomegranate seeds! Thank you Arnaud! We then came down to main floor to visit with Emerson (no Lake no Palmer) we ordered Salmon Tartare one of the best & to top it off a non traditional hot dog. All was really tasty, strongly recommend! Overall ambiance is great!
Merry Christmas 🎄
I love this pub, I love the vibe & the location. We have become regulars but last night the food was not on par with what we're used to. The beef tartare literally became an inside joke with our group when we were there previous times about how good it is, just to go in last night & it be completely different, there was barely any beef in the tartare, it was mostly cheese, the sweet potato & way too much mustard- I felt ripped off I can't lie & my stomach was aching for the rest of the night. I thought I'd leave this comment here cause I paid so much for beef & it was genuinely mostly filler.
Absolutely fantastic bar!
The food is amazing, service is great, & if you get a chance to catch the happy hour do! It'll be a highlight of your trip to Montreal! Hayley was brilliant & offered great recommendations & made us feel at home :) will be back 100%
P.S the beef tartare & potato & Gruyère dip are to die for!
We came here yesterday, Saturday lunchtime to watch the rugby. What a cracking pub. Local brewed stout served by a great chap from Kent. All the staff including the barman were efficient & friendly. We shared a Poutine with beef & have to say it was excellent! The atmosphere was great as was the music. Great to hear a bit of The Clash in Canada. All in all the best place we've been to in Montreal, topped off with a brilliant win by England Women's rugby team
Excellent food, drinks, service, & atmosphere. The beef tartare was outstanding.
Hearty burger feast at Saint Pierre pub.
Burger at the pub Saint Pierre is a dinner in itself with beef, egg, bacon, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, coleslaw, onions, beef, pineapple.
A couple beside me said, we watched you attack our burger.
A wonderful review of a place that is familiar to me. A place where I wrote & drank several years ago. Down the street from Librairie Bertrand on a quaint boulevard in old port sits the iconic Pub Saint Pierre. Meet Vaughan Chittock & his wife Romy the owners of Pub Saint Pierre & ask them to tell you a story about this well lived place. I will be reviewing food at another time. I respectfully came to talk with Vaughan Chittock who is sponsoring my first book launch coming soon at Librairie Bertrand in June or July. Enjoy your weekend.
We live in the neighborhood & had tried to visit twice before without a reservation. On both occasions, we were turned away rather coldly, even though we understand there was no space available. We finally managed to get a table on our third attempt by booking in advance.
Unfortunately, the service remained quite cold overall, with the exception of one staff member who was very friendly & courteous. We ordered the beef tartare & the poutine-both were very good. That said, we found the tartare quite pricey compared to similar dishes we've had at other restaurants.
Service was extremely slow. When it came time for dessert, we were offered options verbally, without seeing a dessert menu or being told the prices. We chose the chocolate cookie, which was very good. The atmosphere was nice.
Overall, while there were some positive aspects, we wouldn't particularly recommend this pub based on our experience.
I come to Montreal every few weeks on, business, & I always come here. Every time. I always order the beef tartare & the lobster melt. Best things in the world. This time, there was very little lobster in the sandwich compared to before. For the money they charge, it should be stuffed full.
Otherwise, highly recommend!!
Always excellent, the only suggestion is to put the beef tartare back on the brunch menu ;)
The reasons I did not give 5 stars are as follow:
1- I made a reservation online about 1 hour before I showed up on their website. When I arrived I was told they did not have my reservation & the place was full for the night. After a bit of negotiation I was able to get a table for 1.5hr only as long as I was out after that time :(
2- It is overpriced for the quantity of food & a beer is 8$, drink is 14$ during the happy hour :( also they charged 8$ to add grilled beef to your plate but the quantity is about one bite of beef. (32$ for a poutine with beef)
Other than that the place is cosy & clean.
Staff are friendly
they speak both French & English.
Nice setting & atmosphere, the beef tartare is so beautifully
