I can't seem to understand the bad reviews. Service from the lady was on point. She's very sweet. As a small bakery with reduced opening hours, a non waste culture & fresh ingredients, this is amazing. Of course you need to come earlier to get the best choices.
Third time coming here, not disappointed at all. Everytime I'm trying something new it's delicious.
This time I had an amazing teriyaki burger, a perfect salmon miso onigiri & an incredible yuzu cheesecake.
Last time the sandwichs were so good. I went out of my comfort zone & tried a chestnuts matcha cake. I personally didn't like the flavor but the cake was not too sweet & well balanced.
If you're used having sweet sugary cakes, unfortunately you won't be able to appreciate the sublte flavour & balance of these cakes.
100% recommend!
Hidden gem for sure. If you are lucky rnough to get a seat inside, suggest trying the food that is made to order ontop of all the yummy looking pastries. Had to get things to go so I got the matcha tiramisu, a karage sandwich & a matcha latte. Did not disappoint! The lady in the front is really sweet & you can see the man in the kitchen cooking up a storm as well.
Pâtisserie T.M. on Rue Ontario East had been on our radar for a while, & we finally made our way over to try it for my girlfriend's birthday, joined by her parents. From the outside, the place is easy to miss-nothing flashy or attention-grabbing-but what it lacks in exterior presence, it more than makes up for once you step inside.
The interior is calm & inviting, with soft touches that give the space a warm & thoughtful feel. There are only a few tables for four, so we were glad to have made a reservation. The menu features a mix of daily specials & a handful of regular offerings, all made in limited quantities. When they run out, they run out-so if there's something you're hoping to try, it's best to arrive early.
We each had a full meal & shared several desserts, & everything we tried delivered exceptional flavour. The Japanese pastries had that light, clean sweetness & airy texture that's hard to find elsewhere. Each plate felt carefully considered, with no weak spots. We were extremely pleased with the quality & balance in every dish-nothing overdone or cloying.
The owners work with quiet intensity & don't pause for a second when customers are waiting. It's rare to find that level of commitment on display so visibly. The value is excellent, especially given the level of quality, & it's clear they care deeply about every detail.
We left feeling lucky to have finally tried it, & even luckier to have experienced it on such a special occasion. We'll certainly be back.
First time ever trying Japanese desserts & onion soup-& I'm officially obsessed! Everything was insanely delicious. The desserts had just the right amount of sweetness & such fun, unique flavors. Plus, everything tasted super fresh & was priced reasonably!
The place itself is super cozy, & the staff? So kind & welcoming! It's a small café, but people were literally lining up to get in-no wonder there were no seats left. so yeah, definitely go early if you want to grab a spot!
Can't wait to go back!
The savory food is good. The cakes don't taste too sweet- which I think is typical for any Japanese style desserts. Surprisingly I really love their fruit tart. The store is busy with only 2 people working so expect some waiting.
Beautiful, bright & airy cafe, with a welcoming simplicity in the decor. Everything looks excellent, lots of savoury & sweet options. I ordered the croque monsieur with salad & a hot matcha latte. The salad is light mixed greens with a wonderful, tart vinaigrette. Usually side salads can be a bit dull, & it was anything but. The sandwich was gloriously cheesy, served fresh from the oven, & delightful from the ratio of meat & cheese to the texture of the bread. I also have to mention the charming plate! It felt a bit like when you're a kid being welcomed into a friend's home & having their mom make you a meal. Nostalgic & fulfilling. The matcha is excellent. I tried a sip without sugar & it's very balanced with a yummy earthy bitterness, just like it should be, but I like mine with sugar, & one sugar softened it out to just where I like it, where the bitterness & the sweetness both come through without one overpowering. The staff speak English, French, & Japanese! I was able to muddle by with my basic French, challenging myself to stick it out. But it was a nice safety net knowing I could default to English if I needed to.
Decided to add on a dessert, & I'm glad I did. I ordered a matcha yuzu tartlette. I had just enough room for something small, & it's a lovely little treat. The flavour is great: that lovely matcha earthy bitterness paired with bright yuzu. The filling is velvety & creamy in texture.
Definitely recommend this cafe!
Pâtisserie T.M. reminds me immensely of going to a cafe in Japan & enjoying a light lunch & dessert. The delicate flavours & are so uniquely Japanese, elaborate but not overly sweet. I enjoy their savoury breads as well & they are adding more & more savoury foods to their menu, all of them done so well. I cannot recommend this place enough. The owners are so sweet & patient with everyone!
The canelé was very good! Lots of other delicious sweet & savory options to try. Vegetarian options too!
Love it. Amazing Japanese patisserie. We ordered matcha latte & mon blanc matcha cake, they were absolutely delicious & not too sweet. Many choices of cake to choose. The service is ok. The cafe is a bit hot inside. Will go back to try other cakes.
Very good attention from the lady, spectacular sweets, I would return without thinking about it
