The service was great & straightforward, but the dishes were absolutely fantastic. As an out of towner new to Montreal I feel like the local cuisine can be a little on the bland side. However, this place hits the nail on the head. The homemade noodles are especially good, & vegetarian option availability was appreciated
Best noodles I've had in a long time. Real homemade noodles, Sichuan peppercorns, so good!!!!
Best rice noodles in town. As a rice noodle lover, I visited this place 3 times when I was in town for 5 days lol.
Authentic Chinese noodle place with very friendly staff. Can be quite spicy but you can adjust the level to your liking.
Good quality Chinese noodles. The sesame/peanut noodles were our least favorite (too one-note) but the regular Guilin noodles served with the side of drinkable broth were very good & very authentic. They just opened & the service is excellent too.
I had the snail noodle (luosifen), & it was delicious. The restaurant is clean, & I like the decor.
Amazing spicy noodles. Server was friendly & helpful. Definitely coming back.
Delicious fresh pulled noodles 😋 taste very authentic , owners we're super sweet ! You can choose your spice level I took the pulled noodles with beef delicious 😋
Dozens of noodles variety to try, the one that i had was jusst too salty tho, couldn't finish it since it's just like slurping a spoonful of salt. Thank god there's the mango salad to neutralize, the mushroom sautee was good too, however it's a tiny portion for $12 I'd say.
This place is a GEM! We loved it when it was a tiny hole in the wall on Monk, where the sweet husband & wife duo served huge portions of steaming fresh noodles one bowl at a time...& having followed it downtown after its move, we can vouch that the quality of the service & the taste of the food are still as exeptional as before. The service is now much faster with the addition of 2 more chefs in the kitchen, & we can now order through our phones using a QR code. Price wise, it's still insanely reasonable. Order the snail noodles with a side of crispy pork(the best extra 6$ that you can possibly spend) or spicy hand pulled beef noodles. We'll definitely be back again! :)
The Luoshi rice noodles were exceptionally savory, with a broth that perfectly complemented the silky noodles. Fresh herbs & succulent meat toppings added a refreshing twist to this traditional dish, making it a must-try for any food enthusiast.
Decent family owned Southern Chinese restaurant in dt Montreal! My impression of it when it was still at Monk was that its Guilin noodles came out quite plain, but this time when I tried the handmade noodles, the noodles' texture were perfect & they were very savoury! They got my order wrong, made stir fry noodles instead of soupy Laoyou noodles, but they are willing to redo it or provide a discount for it, & it actually tastes awesome! My bf's spicy beef noodles came out more numb than expected, but the dish on the Chinese menu is numb spicy beef noodles so it makes sense. So just be aware that there could be translation inaccuracies (e.g. mealworm just means the shape of it is shorter pieces of noodles lol), & the food are spicy in an authentic way, but the quality is trustworthy.
The owner is so nice & always ready to help you with a big smile. I love noodle in general & the noodles there are really special. From a very specific region of China so it has its own unique flavours. Love it every time!
We had G2 noodles & apparently they forgot to put peanuts (peanuts is so essential for such spicy dry noodles 🥲), after talking to the staff, they insisted they put it & probably break it too small so it blend in with the noodles. It should be an easy solution to solve- offer us some peanuts...overall not a pleasant experience...
If you want spicy noodles, this is the place to be : most of the dishes tried were spicy. However, we found a hair in my friend's noodle dish, so I have to take off points for that. The noodles are handmade, but cut really thick. Also taking some points off for the ordering system : there is no waiter taking the orders, you have to use a qr code (which didn't work on my phone) & place your order. Overall, food was meh, experience to be improved. If you do check this place out, order the G1, the less bad out of the 4 dishes.
An overall really good experience Have not had this kind of flavours in a while, very authentic ! ( took the fried noodles with q reqlly nice wok hei & the spicy beef noodle - not too spicy & refreshing) It reminds me of my time in Asia & that is so precious. Thank you for your cuisine !
A welcome addition to the neighborhood. Fresh handmade noodles are a treat. I found my dish a bit too salty but pleasantly spicy & generous, & will be back to explore the menu. The lady working the front was comically overworked, handling orders cash cleanup seating etc for a full house unaided, but she somehow maintained a cheerful & engaging energy level.
