Visitor from Taiwan! After shopping around Jean Talon Market we were looking for something more filling & found Palomar on Google.
We ordered the oyster sampler, fries (of course), a salmon sandwich, & the charcuterie (thought it was interesting to try different fish).
Oyster, sandwich, & fries were great. Seems like lobster roll is the common choice but boyfriend says sandwich was a better choice 😋 Charcuterie was not as pleasant as I thought. Great nibble food but most of the fish is not fresh! It's actually all processed - like fish salami or jerky.
Saw the table next to us order the pot of mussels & was jealous.
Nevertheless, enjoyable dining experience. Very relaxed. Great service.
If the opportunity comes, I will go back for a glass of wine, fries, & those mussels!!
The short lobster roll, $39 only contains a hotdogs bread with fresh lobster meat. Although it tastes very fresh, it is not enough to fill you up. My husband let me eat two pieces, & I was so touched.
One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. Perfect blend of savory flavors. My wife's fish & chips were also very delicious.
Thank you, Palomar, for a lovely lunch. The food was fresh, bursting with flavour, & unique. The soupe du jour was a hit as was the salmon chorizo with pickled beets. Lobster roll was delicious, nicely presented. We were less enamored by the fish & chips, fries were dry & overcooked, batter was thick, a bit heavy. Service was excellent, the team thoughtful & sweet. Nice dining room, the deli counter dominates a bit & takes away from the coziness but the outside fireplace is a fun touch, especially for diners choosing mimosa a volonté ;). Bathrooms really need a bit of TLC to match the standard of the restaurant.
Nous avons passé un agréable moment dans ce restaurant. Le sandwich Reuben & le lobster roll sont un pur délice.
Very slow service. Resto wasn't full, maybe 5 tables in all & yet it took over 40mins to get 1 benedict, 1 crab salad, & 1 lobster roll. Portions are extremely small & tasteless. Food needs more flavoring. Even when wanted to pay the bill I had to get up to get the attention of a staff member. Bill was 135, I paid 160 but I'll never go again. I think it's way overrated
We had an excellent meal today at Palomar. We ordered the Shrimp & Waffles & the Lobster Pain Perdu. They were both delicious & tasted quite unique. Although unexpected, we also recommend their caffeinated beverages that we found quite smooth & hit the right notes. Looking forward to going back for dinner soon.
Loved this seafood place. The raw bar is great, had the oysters, fresh & yummy. Had the half lobster, great presentation & delicious 😋 🤩 great service 🤠😁 for sure going back soon.
We came for brunch & loved it. We tried the lobster pain perdu & Reuben sandwich which were both delicious. The seats at the bar are the best, you get to watch them prep your food. Definitely coming back for the dinner menu!
On a mangé des lobster rolls un midi avec un verre de Chardonnay, tout était parfait!
Half lobster, poached egg, béarnaise, herb salad on a terrace, Sunday, under the autumn sun & great discussions on psychology & travel. This is Montreal 🥰
