We really appreciate that the St-Denis location offers various promotions. It's probably why this location is so well-loved by students & the younger crowd. Here, you order at the counter, receive a pager that beeps when your order is ready, & seat yourself at one of the tables. There aren't too many tables available, however people eat quickly so you shouldn't have to wait more than 15-20 minutes to dine-in. We have tried the classic flavours such as spicy salmon, spicy tuna, Korean fried chicken, & beef miso. Initially we thought 5$ for an onigiri was on the pricier side, however these onigiris are huge, much larger than the standard ones in Japan. We would say two onigiris should be filling enough for one person. The staff was friendly & the onigiri came out fast, within 3-5 minutes. Highly recommend if you're in the area for a cheap, simple, & yummy meal.
The shop is simple & no-frills, but clean & comfortable. It wasn't too crowded when I went.
I ordered a Korean fried chicken onigiri & a salmon one. The onigiri are huge, one is already very filling, & two is honestly too much (too good) for someone like me. But they're so good (I cant stop eating). The rice is cooked perfectly: soft, slightly sticky, not dry at all, wrapped in seaweed with a generous filling in the center.
Each onigiri is around $5, which feels very reasonable considering the size. Big, affordable, & satisfying. I also ordered a small ramen with miso broth. It was okay, but the onigiri is really the star here, simple, but peak comfort food.
Orders come out fast, around 3-5 minutes. I've officially become an onigiri addict after this place. Highly recommend if you're visiting Montreal, cheap, simple, & delicious. I'll probably come back a thousand more times whenever I'm in town.
When the stores open I loved this place & other stores that open. Always enjoyed their big yummy onigiri. Could advise thé saumon/ avocat or chicken karage.
My only complaint tho will be either the service depending from the store I guess u see people more motivated of working there or not…
Food tastes great but please beware of cross contamination if you have fish allergies. I ordered beef tama & korean chicken but somehow ended up sick due to traces of fish.
A bit disappointed with this location. I've tried multiples other ones before & they were better. I order the chicken tama. There was barely any chicken & egg yolk. No green onions like it was supposed to. Also, pretty sure it wasn't Korean fried chicken & just chicken.
