Review Summary

Onigiri Shop draws broadly positive feedback for a simple, clean, casual setting and meals where the onigiri are the star: large portions with generous fillings like salmon, spicy tuna, miso beef and eel, all paired with rice that is described as perfectly cooked, soft and a bit sticky, wrapped in seaweed. The offerings are praised for being affordable and satisfying, with fast service and a focus on quick, tasty lunch or takeout, and the atmosphere often noted as rustic and friendly with wooden bowls and a low key vibe. While many diners are impressed by the variety and quality, some reviews flag issues such as rice that is not up to par at times, excessive saltiness, occasional crumbling, or cross contamination concerns for allergies, and there are a few reports of slower service during peak hours or a location lacking air conditioning. The experience is frequently described as dependable and addictive, with compliments toward the staff for kindness and helpfulness and special mentions of popular choices like large onigiri with generous fillings and creative takes on traditional options. Overall, Onigiri Shop is seen as a great value quick bite with big, satisfying bites and a wide range of fillings that keep customers returning.

Food price is great especially for the great quality. Fish is delicious. The onigiris are not packed well & often spill out & crumble, much more than at other places. Service is slow but reasonable if it's not during peak hours. I recommend visiting it.

Compared to your average konbini onigiris, these guys a lot chunkier! I feel like I can eat 3 of these max. Priced at 5$ per before tax, I feel like it's a pretty good value given the amount of raw fish they stuff inside of them. If you're in the area & are craving a snack, forget about McDonald's - just come here!

Food tastes great but please beware of cross contamination if you have fish allergies. I ordered beef tama & korean chicken but somehow ended up sick due to traces of fish.

This is a cute shop & the onigiri are delicious & huge. My child has egg, fish, shellfish, peanut & tree nut allergies. He was able to eat the vege mix, & shiitake mushroom onigiris. Although he didn't enjoy the vege mix one as much. We ordered the eel, shrimp tempura, ramen egg, salmon & avocado onigiris, also edamame as well, for the rest of us. All were delicious. There are 4-5 tables, each table fits 2. Place doesn't have AC so it does get warm in the summer. We went there 3x when we visited Montreal, all were takeout, that's how much we enjoyed the food there! Will definitely be go back if we are in the area again.
