Loved the chimney cakes, had the pistachio cake with pistachio spread as well as the hazelnut & Nutella one, both delicious, well worth the detour & wait time for a hot & fresh pastry.😋

Everybody should try the classic Hungarian chimney cake; with walnuts & plain! It is crispy on the outside & soft on the inside! I will definitely return to this place in the future.
A must-visit also for my Christmas shopping - amazing ,authentic Chimney Cakes freshly made in different flavors ,very professional, fantastic, friendly owner & staff. They even have special Christmas boxes for 4 Chimney Cakes. Absolutely lovely place! Easily 5 🌟.
The owner was working which was cool. Watching your treat be made in front of you is so special & the chimney cakes were divine!! I'll be back for sure.

Best Shop & Best Pastries from Montreal! Tried many foods & shops but this Outclassed Very WELL🤌🏼 It deserves more people, the staffs were very hospitable & friendly. Good ambience inside. The Pista chimney cake with ice cream & Walnut cake were the items that we tried. Well enjoyed! Must try place in Montreal. Will visit again!🙌🏼♥?

Parking can be a bit tricky on busy weekends, but once you step inside, the effort feels completely worth it. The cozy space is filled with the smell of freshly baked pastries, & it instantly puts you in a good mood.
The staff here are warm, welcoming, & clearly passionate about what they do. They take the time to explain their treats & help you choose, which makes the experience feel personal & inviting. There are only a few seats inside, so it's more of a grab-&-go kind of place, but everything is made fresh & beautifully presented.
The star of the show is their Hungarian kürtõskalács (chimney cakes). Watching them prepare these sweet, spiral pastries is part of the fun-the dough is rolled, coated with sugar, & baked until perfectly golden, filling the air with a mouthwatering aroma. You can then customize your order with your choice of toppings, which adds a nice personal touch.
The pastries themselves are light, crisp, & sweet, with just the right balance of flavor & texture. Each bite feels indulgent but never heavy, the kind of dessert that makes you pause & enjoy the moment. Everything we tasted was fresh & made with care.
Ol' Sweet Pâtisserie isn't just another dessert shop-it's a charming little experience. Between the friendly service, unique creations, & unmistakable quality, it's clear that a lot of thought goes into everything they make.

Parking can be a bit tricky, & seating is limited, so it's not ideal for lingering. But if you're looking for something unique & delicious, this place absolutely delivers. Great for a quick treat or impressing out-of-town guests with something they've probably never had before.

I stopped by Ol' Sweet this past July with my friend Hady after a picnic in Parc La Fontaine, & it was the perfect sweet detour. This bakery is all about Hungarian chimney cakes (kürt?skalács), always baked fresh to order so you get that golden caramelized crust & soft fluffy inside.
Walking in felt cozy & nostalgic, with old school music like La Vie en Rose playing & David, the owner, greeting us with such warmth. He told us Ol' Sweet has been open for four years, though before that they built their name at festivals & events around the city.
We went classic with our order & loved how each one is made freshly in front of you & doesn't need much topping to shine. The menu also has fun spreads, fruit, or ice cream for anyone who wants add a little extra pizazz .
Bonus: when there is enough extra dough it's put on the Too Good To Go app, which makes grabbing a treat at the end of the day both delicious & eco-friendly.

I tried chimney cake before in Prague & Budapest but the OI version is extremely tasty & different. not traditional at all, combining berries ice cream with the classical cone. Also a different flavor for nutella fans. Give it a try if you're a fan of a chimney cake twist.

These Hungarian chimneys are some of the best I have ever had. Super warm & made fresh right in front of you. The owner & cashier were helpful with their explanations of the flavours & the combinations that would pair well together. She recommended the pistachio pieces on the outside as opposed to the sugar option because the pistachio spread was already very sweet. I absolutely loved these & can't wait to go back.
I'm originally from Hungary & living in Canada now, so I've had my fair share of chimney cakes-& this one was even better than what I've had back home! The shop is beautiful, the staff are super friendly, & the service was quick & top quality. A must-visit if you love kürt?skalács done right! Gratulálok, Dávid, csak így tovább!
I liked my bf's pistachio flavoured chimney cake more than my apple cinnamon cone. But had I only ever tasted the apple cinnamon cone I would've been a very happy snacker instead of plagued by envy. I will be back. Pricing is justified, customer service was excellent (very friendly & patient staff).
I wish I could upload photos, but I was way too excited (& hungry) to eat my pastries. We had both the chimney funnel cake (coated in pistachios with a pistachio cream filling) & the tiramisu cone…. I can happily say that I was in dessert heaven. I definitely will be going back & next time I don't want to share my dessert with anybody. Hopefully I can upload a photo next time 🤤😍
Thought this would be one of those'trendy' but mediocre places; turns out it's actually very good.
Media posts about the original chimney cake make it look small, but I was surprised to be almost filled by just one & they aren't even that expensive: one with extra pistachio flavour on the outside & the pistachio spread on the inside is about 11$.
The staff were chill too, overall a great place to have an amazing pastry with a nice hot beverage.
