Surprised people are giving this place a one star. First of all, the owner is an absolute sweetheart. He's very knowledgable, smart & open minded. Shoutout to you if you read this! Yeah, the food can be unlikeable to some, like personally i find the matcha cheese cake a bit muddy & not too sweet, but their drinks are top tier. They clearly thought it through. This place is an experience.
To be honest, I was quite disgusted & didn't really appreciate the food I ordered with my friend.
We ordered a mango matcha latte, a honey hojicha, & their ube basque cheesecake.
Overall, the taste ranged from bad to mediocre. The matcha really lacked flavor, it wasn't strong enough & gave off a watery, metallic taste. It was too diluted, & only the mango purée helped make it a tad bit sweeter. The same goes for the hojicha, the presence of hojicha was barely there, as it was also too diluted by the milk.
The ube basque cheesecake was really weird. Although the color was popping & pretty, the ube flavor was not present at all. It tasted more like a normal, ordinary traditional cheesecake. It feels like they just added food coloring for aesthetic purposes while ignoring the true taste of ube.
It has a lot of potential for improvement.
The ube cheesecake is so good! Even the hojicha latte tastes comforting. Also try the sesame mochi 👌👌👌. Will comeback again!:)
Qualité des produits vraiment médiocre. Le thé vert goûte le moisi (couleur d'additif de colorant vert) aucun goût de thé. Le café carrément de l'eau coloré. Les petits gâteaux à chacun son goût.
Déception totale 😩
Yesterday, my friend & I decided to visit a newly opened establishment that appeared promising. Unfortunately, the experience proved to be unsatisfactory. We ordered the mango matcha, honey hojicha, & ube basque cheesecake. The beverages lacked distinct flavor, & the cheesecake did not meet our expectations for a quality dessert.
Love the place. But mo way to contact them. Shelf life not provided on dessert.
Tried the cold matcha latte with strawberry syrup & their matcha mochi. Delicious! & they had two lucky cats displayed in this little shop!
I just tried this place today & i loved it!! The lychee matcha latte is so delicious, they have such a cool menu with so many options. Their matcha mochi was very good too. Veryyyy good service too! I'll definitely be back
Delicious pastries, authentic flavors, & friendly staff. Highly recommend this spot !
Great matcha & the mochi is the best. Wait for the mochi ice cream to melt & then try it for the best taste.
INCREDIBLE MATCHA! The owner is such a kind, genuine person. Everything is high quality, absolutely delicious my husband & I come almost daily. They have outstanding cheesecakes, my favorite is the ube cake. Mochis, & ice cream mochis. If you are in the West Island it's a MUST TRY, especially for their matcha, or Houjicha
My favourite spot at Fairview Pointe-Clair. Never miss an opportunity to go there & grab a hot drink with delicious cake &/or mochi. Love being there. No photos: Once I have my dessert on the plate it disappears in seconds in my mouth :D
Many thanks to owners & staff for this unusual place & original menu, I am bored of croissants though I like them too:)
Okawari has the best mochi I've ever had in my life. it's always fresh, soft, & just melts in your mouth. You can really tell everything is made with care.
Sebastian, the owner, is super kind & clearly takes pride in his work. It's one of those rare places where you feel like everything is made with love & attention to detail.
Some reviews mention that the drinks take a bit of time to prepare, but honestly, it's because everything's made fresh, with real ingredients (no shortcuts), so of course it's going to take a little longer. It's 100% worth it.
Whether you're there for a matcha, a crepe, or (like me) the mochi - you won't be disappointed. Total hidden gem in the West Island.
