Mundo Trattoria est né d'un rêve partagé par deux familles. Aujourd'hui, l'histoire se poursuit avec Johnny et Julian, des amis de toujours dont les pères ont fondé le restaurant ensemble. Ancrés dans la tradition et animés par la passion, ils ont su préserver l'essence d'une véritable trattoria italienne ici même à Kirkland.
Des pâtes fraîches faites à la main au veau tendre, en passant par les fruits de mer de saison, chaque plat reflète les saveurs de l'Italie et le soin particulier propre à une entreprise familiale. Fort de plus de 10 ans de service et de quatre décennies de tradition culinaire italienne, Mundo Trattoria est bien plus qu'un simple restaurant : c'est un endroit où l'on se sent chez soi.
Mundo Trattoria se distingue par une cuisine italienne authentique, des plats généreux et une ambiance chaleureuse. The environment is fairly average & the space feels a bit cramped. However, the service is very warm & welcoming. The beet dish among the appetizers was surprisingly impressive, & the portion sizes were incredibly generous. The beef cheek was very tender & well-cooked, & the desserts were also huge. Guests with smaller appetites may find it difficult to finish their meals, so it's best to consider portion sizes when ordering.
Great experience at Mundo, great atmosphere & delicious food. We had absolutely fabulous service & enjoyed our evening. We had the fall off the bone lamb with homemade tagliatelle, the tortellini a la gigi, & the tiramisu for dessert. We will be back :-)
Update October 26 we came back & had the beef cheeks & tortellini again (too good to pass up) Wonderful meal great service from Benoit & thank you to chef Julien. posting current menu here :-)

Amazing experience. The staff was welcoming & the server was very knowledgeable. He recommended us the dish of the evening, which turned out to be done perfectly. I ordered truffle pasta & it was better than any other place I've tried. The desserts are also amazing, I've especially liked the chocolate cake. Will definitely be back ❤️
Everything was amazing, our waiter was great, his recommendation & knowledge was very helpful, the only thing was we had to wait a long time for our main course. But it was okay, Dessert was on the house, which was appreciated . Everyone is very friendly & pleasant. We would definitely go back.
We had a very nice evening there on Oct. 5/ 2024. The food was delicious, the service excellent as usual but we found the portions to be a little smaller than when were here last year. Even with appetizers a dessert, a few of us left a little hungry.
Johnny, Julian & their team are amazing. Max is an incredibly personable waiter who gave us an amazing experience. My fiancee & I are having our wedding here & we did our tasting menu for our wedding. Every dish was delicious. From the fried calamari & grilled octopus as apps. Braised Lamb Shank & salmon avocado for mains. & finally the amazing Tiramisu for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an amazing meal from start to finish with stellar service. 15/10

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles & a cozy atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a wonderful evening. Each plate was a masterpiece, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients & a touch of culinary artistry. Our table enjoyed a variety of dishes, from the savory antipasti to the decadent desserts, & every bite was a testament to the chef's expertise. The staff at Mundo Trattoria were exceptional, but special recognition goes to Paolo, the best & most patient waiter we have ever encountered. His attentiveness, knowledge, & genuine friendliness made us feel welcomed & well-cared for throughout the night. Paolo went above & beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect, & his recommendations were spot-on. The ambiance of the restaurant is charming & inviting, providing the perfect backdrop for our gathering. Whether you're there for a special occasion or just a casual dinner, Mundo Trattoria offers an atmosphere that makes every moment special. This was my first visit to Mundo Trattoria & I will definitely be returning! We were warmly greeted & given a private quiet table. as per my wishes for my friend's 74th birthday dinner. I was impressed with the attention to every single detail. Our waiter Luigi was amazing! The pace of service was perfect. Not rushed, but well timed. The service was choreographed & seamless, with wine, water, warm baked bread, space between appetizer & main course. The food was outstanding! I have never had a more delicious salmon tartare! I tried beef cheeks for the first time & they just melted in my mouth! My friend really enjoyed the lobster ravioli. The space between the main course & dessert was perfect. The tiramisu made in house was deliciously fantastic! I cannot believe on how I have missed out eating at this restaurant before now. I highly recommend & will definitely be returning. My favourite # 1 place to dine out on a special night! Thank you to all the servers & amazing chef, who made my evening out so memorable. Dinner for 2 with two glasses of wine, appetizer shared, 2 main course & dessert, tax & tip included, just under 200$. Worth every single penny! Outstanding!
Quelle soirée fascinante. Tout d'abord, à l'accueil, un grand serveur très bête. On sentait déjà qu'on dérangeait. Luigi allait être notre serveur par la suite. Nous avons prix le caprese & les calmars frits. Ces derniers manquaient cruellement de cuisson. Très caoutchouteux en bouche, j'en ai mangé des meilleurs dans une brasserie. Le caprese était bon pour une boule de fromage avec des tomates. En repas, ravioli astice, pappardelle funghi & vitello parmigianna. Le jarret d'agneau n'était pas disponible. Luigi nous a dit que la joue de boeuf braisé était grasse. Il nous avait aussi dit que le vitello n'était pas disponible avant de se rétracter. Bref, les raviolis étaient succulents. Les papardelles étaient dures & sans goût. Les escalopes étaient huileuses & très épaisses. Il faut mentionner que tout au long du repas, nous avons été très honnêtes avec Luigi. Celui-ci a même fait exprès de demander la satisfaction d'une cliente concernant les escalopes. Celle-ci a aimé & Luigi m'a regardé avec un sourire en me disant que tout le monde aime. Bravo pour l'arrogance. En général, Luigi était perdu & c'est choquant d'avoir un tel service dans un restaurent aussi cher. C'est finalement au dessert que pour la première fois, nous avons senti que notre satisfaction était importante. Les cafés ont été gratuits & nous avons eu des petits fruits avec le tout. Nous avons apprécié ce geste. Merci au propriétaire. Au final, une facture de 250$ pour un service médiocre & des repas de basse qualité. À ce prix, je recommande vivement d'allez ailleurs, mais tout le monde aime selon Luigi !
The restaurant was not busy yet our waiter only came to take our food order after an hour of seating. Dessert not made in house & really not fresh. On a Saturday night that is bad. Cake slice put on plate with no decoration or love.
30 minutes passed before my wife had to talk to someone to get some service. Minestrone soup arrived cold. Veal parmigiana was way over cooked with no hint of tomato sauce. Pasta side had barely any sauce & was bland. We were not offered coffee nor dessert. Worst anniversary dinner ever. NEVER going back!

The food was good, I thought the appetizer portions were quite small for the price. Service was so-so. We told the waiter that 4 ( out of 6) of us were celebrating our birthdays, & we were totally ignored. We saw other tables receiving cakes with candles. Our waiter took our coffee/tea order, did not even ask us if we wanted dessert, we had to flag him ( after 20 minutes)& ask him for the dessert menu. Needless to say, none of us celebrating our birthday got any cake or candles.
Everything was fantastic, the service , our waiter was super nice & even though our salmon was not fully cooked our waiter was super nice & gave us a complimentary dessert on the house & pannetone as well for our table . Will definitely go again
Our dinner at Mundo was excellent as well as the service from our waiter Carmen. My wife & I brought my mother there for dinner & we were all very happy with our meals. Everything was delicious. My only issue was that they do not serve any desserts. A nice cannoli after that delicious meal would have been a great way to end our meals.
I would give it a 4 1/2. I really enjoyed my food from appetizer to dessert. I had the Portobello alla Griglia to start with their homemade gnocchi. Delicious & not heavy. Finished with a berry tart also very good. Everyone love their main meal. A few had the cod & said that it was very good. My friend had The black ink squid pasta & she enjoyed it as well.The issue was one of the appetizers. The Mista Fritti. The vegetables were fried to a crisp & not good at all. When it was mentioned to the waiter he just smiled & left. Since we are not the complaining type nothing further was said. He was a good waiter overall, good conversation & the water was always filled.
Overall I definitely recommend this place & would go again.
