My date had the eggplant parmesan & I the osso buco veal. Her dish came with penne in a tasty tomato sauce & mine with rissoto. We split a Caesar salad. My veal was tender & in a tasty sauce. The food was excellent. Service was friendly & efficient. We sat in a corner table which was not very spacious. It was odd because it was 7:30 & there were a lot of better tables available. The big problem was the lack of lighting that made it very difficult to read the menu. The tiny dim table lamp is inadequate. The bill before tax & tip was $103. Finding the restaurant was challenging as it is around the corner & not immediately visible.
My husband & I called on a Saturday evening & were grateful to get a last-minute dinner reservation at Mundo Trattoria. The ambiance was warm & inviting. The food was good, but unfortunately, the service-specifically from the kitchen-was incredibly slow.
Our server, Max, was great & did his best, but the long wait between courses was frustrating. For appetizers, we ordered the cod cakes, salmon tartare, & beet salad. The cod cakes were delicious, crispy, & flavorful, while the beet salad was fresh & delightful. The salmon tartare, however, was missing something-it could have used a bit more acidity or seasoning.
For mains, I ordered the tagliatelle with tomato sauce. Having just returned from Italy, I was looking for a homemade pasta experience, & Max confirmed that this was one of the two in-house pasta options. It did not disappoint-fresh, perfectly cooked, & full of flavor. My husband had the seafood spaghetti, which he enjoyed. However, the time between our appetizers & mains was far too long-so much so that my husband almost canceled the order. While we understand that a relaxed dining experience is part of the charm at some restaurants, this felt excessive.
We ended on a high note with the lemon olive oil cake, which was absolutely delicious-moist, flavorful, & the perfect balance of citrus & richness.
Overall, we had a pleasant evening, but the extremely slow kitchen service took away from the experience. If they can improve on timing, Mundo Trattoria could truly be a fantastic dining spot. Would we return? Maybe-but only if we're not in a hurry.

The gnocchi was light & the sauce was amazing & the truffle mac & cheese balls were crunchy & not too much truffle. Everything was really really good. Even the dining experience is amazing here, good waiters, they rotated everything nice. Reminds me a famous Indian place we went to in vancouver.
30 minutes passed before my wife had to talk to someone to get some service. Minestrone soup arrived cold. Veal parmigiana was way over cooked with no hint of tomato sauce. Pasta side had barely any sauce & was bland. We were not offered coffee nor dessert. Worst anniversary dinner ever. NEVER going back!
I've been to this restaurant on many occasions & usually all was very good. However, this time around I was disappointed.
The food was not as per the past. We tried the Gnocchi Gorgonzola & the gnocchi was rubbery. Had the seafood risotto with tomato sauce & it was bland. The service from Paulo was top notch. May
Absolutely delicious ! Braised beef short rib & red wine sauce is mouth watering addictive! Personally would've enjoyed more vegetables on the plate so it could be more filling, but besides that amazing! Our server Matt was professional & a sweetheart! You've got a lifetime customer!

We had an excellent dinner. My meal came wrong but they knew there was a mistake . I'm a gluten free person & don't eat tomatoes. The wrong sauce was put together in my meal. It was looked after right a way. I ordered the fish. When the bill came I was compensated & didn't pay for mine. Thanks that what you call great. Will be returning soon . Thanks
Though the service was wonderful & the food was good too, I decided to give a 3-star rating because the prices are rather outrageous for what we got. A small arugula salad is priced at about $14, there was nothing about it that made it worth the high price. I have had the same thing elsewhere for half that price. Also, my salmon was $37, & again yes it was good but nothing about it made it worth that price! It was a normal-sized piece of fillet that came with 2 roasted potato wedges & 5-6 aspagragus, nothing spectacular, no special sauce or anything that could make it worth that crazy price. Bread was super good. They were nice & brought some clementines & pannatone for free at the end of the meal.
I also tasted my husband's cod & it was super good. I have nothing to say about the food, just that you can eat just as well elsewhere for much less & get the same quality food. If you want great service & can afford the prices, then enjoy going to this resto.
We were 3 adults & one teenager on our Saturday night visit. Always greeted warmly with table waiting, cocktails arrived quickly, vodka tonics, simple & refreshing. Jumbo shrimp cocktail for Granma was promptly devoured, 2 orders of warm grilled octopus was super tender & flavoured with smoky cherry tomatoes & diced veggies in good olive oil. I think they changed their recipe because I remember this dish being served cold & this was warm but still quite good. Mains were manicotti - 3 plump tubes stuffed with creamy ricotta & spinach in a rosé sauce, almost all eaten by the picky teenager. 2 orders of lobster ravioli (rich, unctuous) left smiles on all faces, & my oh so good meat lasagna that was like only a nonna can make, rich, flavorful, delicious! Finished with 1 decaf & 1 regular cappuccino that I loved, & the 3 ladies shared a classic & yummy tiramisu. My only complaint was no one ever came back to refill our water glasses or offer more bread. Overall we all really enjoyed our laid back relaxed dinner.

Ambiance = agréable.
