Modavie is a timeless place that brings us back to our roots, where ladies & gents gather and eat in a lively atmosphere caused by great conversation, live music and the wooden scents of a vintage room. Born in 1997, it quickly became popular among locals & visitors, and is now considered a Montreal institution.
Treat yourself to refined French fare in an antique & dimmed corner locale spawning two floors. From the classic beef tartare, to tasty sweetbread, to the famous ratatouille, your cravings will be easily satiated.

Lorenzo was there to greet us at the door with laughs & smiles. From that point on, everything just got better. The restaurant was clean, stylish, & well put together. The service was on point, an the food was flawless! If you're looking for a spot in Old Montreal for a great meal, look no further than Modavie!
Imon (sp) was our server, & right off the bat, she was like a long-lost friend. She was amazing with such great energy & personality. She made the dining experience such a memorable one. She made my husband & I so comfortable & met our every need. The food was flawless. I would definitely hit this French restaurant again, if ever in Old Montreal, & would most definitely ask for Imon again. Thank you, sweetheart!

As a vegetarian, bring my non-vegetarian friends to this high-priced restaurant. I had no option, but Salmon. Honestly, I loved it. Lightly creamy, little sour, delicious plate.
Came here for MTLATABLE, which is a prix fixe food event at select restaurants across the city. There was a decent selection of dishes made with Quebec produce across 3 courses. I picked the poutine, chicken & creme Brule. Honestly, I only enjoyed the poutine & it wasn't as heavy as regular poutine. The chicken was a disappointment due to the lack of flavours. It tasted like grocery store rotisserie. The creme Brule was nothing special. However the highlight of this restaurant is definitely the live music, which starts at 7pm every night. The jazz singer & the band that performed tonight were excellent. Without it, the experience would have been pretty underwhelming.
Situated in the Vieux Port area of Montreal, this restaurant is a "must visit".
The food, the service, the ambience, outstanding!
Modavie is known for its lamb chops.
The Atlantic salmon is excellent.
The place is very popular because it boasts live music, with a jazz band performing every Tuesday.
Do not attempt to visit without a reservation unless you are prepared to wait about 45 to 60 minutes.
Un service excellent! Éric, qui nous a servis, était très professionnel. La nourriture excellente. L'entrée de foie gras délicieuse. La cuisson de l'agneau parfaite.
The rack of lamb was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone going here. The staff was friendly & accommodating. The waiter was kind enough to heed our odd request to split the bill across 4 credit cards. I never felt like we were waiting for the staff. They just magically appeared the moment we were just thinking about needing them. Not intrusive, excellent timing.
Great overall experience. The music was a bit on the loud side. Service was great! The octopus was fantastic! The rack of lamb was good, maybe a pinch more salt.
