Modavie is a timeless place that brings us back to our roots, where ladies & gents gather and eat in a lively atmosphere caused by great conversation, live music and the wooden scents of a vintage room. Born in 1997, it quickly became popular among locals & visitors, and is now considered a Montreal institution.

Prix beaucoup trop cher pour ce qu'on nous a servi. Nous avons été servi le menu de groupe & les plats étaient généralement décevant. Le steak était carbonisé, les frites étaient sèches, la soupe à l'oignon baignait dans du gras & le dessert était beaucoup trop sucré. Je n'ai pas tendance à écrire des review négatif mais j'ai tellement été déçu par rapport au prix que je me suis senti obligé de faire part de mon expérience.

We had a great experience here, the food is so delicious & the staffs are friendly, smart & helpful, also with a lovely smile.
Remember to reserve the table in advance since it is so popular which there are so many people waiting while we are eating.

Modavie is a must when visiting Montreal. As soon as we got sat the atmosphere was there & it was high, our server Iman specifically made sure that our experience there is the best. She recommended the lamb chops which was amazing. We also had the filet mignon. Overall, everything was so good, even better than a Michelin Star Restaurant, trust us we ate at one just a couple days before!

Excellent service par notre serveur Patrice & à l'accueil. Très bonne recommandation de vin & les plats étaient succulents. Service très rapide puisque nous leur avions mentionné notre contrainte de temps. Je recommande à 100!

We had a wonderful experience here celebrating my birthday on Sunday evening. Our server went above & beyond to provide us exceptional service. While I was away from the table, our server asked my partner if we were there to celebrate a birthday, & offered to provide us a free creme brulee for dessert.
We ordered a bottle of a pino noir, the french onion soup, salmon tartare, mussle & fries, & the pesto gnocchi. Everything was delicious.
One thing we noted is that a couple of the mussles in the pot were closed, & had a slightly fishy taste. We found this offputting.

Je suis retournée au Modavie pour une 4e fois, cette fois-ci dans le cadre de Montréal à table. Comme d'habitude, très bon service, belle qualité de nourriture & belle ambiance avec la musique live. C'était ma première fois au 2e étage. Je préfère l'ambiance du premier étage, mais le 2e était très bien aussi. J'y ai été dans différents contextes: en amoureux, entre amis, en famille & avec des collègues de travail. Vraiment un bel endroit pour toutes les occasions.

When you want a dining experience where the quality of the food matches the quality of the service, try Modavie Restaurant, particularly when Lorenzo is there. From apetizers to main meal & desserts, everything was tasty. Lorenzo made us feel like welcomed guests & VIPs. We plan to go back to experience it again.

L'ambiance est sympa, carte restreinte mais avec suffisamment de choix pour y trouver son compte. Le seul bémol concerne le peu d'espace entre chaque table, on entend tout ce que les gens disent & on doit parler vraiment fort pour s'entendre…

It was my first time trying escargots 🐌 & I wasn't disappointed! I ordered the'Escargots à l'ail gratiné fromage 1608,' the cheese was absolutely divine.
I also had the'Côtelettes d'agneau huile d'olive, origan, citron, pommes de terre sarladaises, légumes de saison.' It made for a great main.
The dessert was my favourite! The'Pyramide de mousse au chocolat, crème au beurre à la noisette & café, amandes glacées, crumble de noisette' was smooth, crunchy, & had the perfect amount of sweetness.
A huge shoutout to our amazing server, Patrice, who made the whole evening memorable with his humour & great service. Thank you!

A great restaurant in the heart of Old Montreal. We enjoyed the lamb chops & charcuterie & cheese board. Prompt service, excellent food & the jazz music was.an added bonus.

Just terrible customer service all around. I came into this restaurant because I had heard rave reviews & was told it's very popular. So I walk in on a Saturday night at 7:30, with 15 of my friends. The host asks us if we have a reservation, so right off the bat we are greeted with attitude. When I tell her I didn't make one, but I am an elite yelper, she tells me that they won't have a table available for at least an hour maybe longer. I said, that's ridiculous!

We had a beautiful, warm experience at Modavie. The waiter was exceptional; the food was very good, & the atmosphere was warm & cozy. Live jazz was the cherry on top. It's in a beautiful part of Montreal. I was seated by the fireplace, & it was so wonderfully cozy & a chilly evening. Soupe a l'ongion was the perfect start to our meal
