Lorenzo & Jordanna made our experience so fun! Our favorite appetizer was the foie gras, & the duck confit was so tender! Look forward to coming back for live music!!!

This is a wow restaurant. It is a must go restaurant in Montreal. You will not be disappointed ! The restaurant is huge with live music, good decoration & warm, a good selection of wine & French cuisine. I had garlic snails to start with….it was super delicious & finished all my bread! Then I had the duck confit - yes yes yes, you can taste the coffee! The potato, spinach, roasted almonds & the melt in my mouth super delicious duct confit take my breath away. The French Malbec - very good, wish I ordered 1 bottle ! I finished the meal with a delicious chocolate Lava Cake. You must have it ! The service is very good & professional.

We ate here for lunch. It was excellent. I had the onion soup it was very good but a little bit too thick for my tastes I like it to be just a little thinner but flavor was spot on. The poutine that I had was excellent. I've had it a couple of different ways I normally don't like having meat added to it or anything like that. I like having it done the way poutine was always done. If I would give any slight suggestion would be to add a little bit more of the cheese curds to it other than that it was fantastic some of the best I've ever had. Now Richard on the other hand had the Sweetbreads. Hopefully people sophisticated enough who are reading this would understand what sweetbreads are they are not sweet bread. For his main course he had the duck confit. I basically had a little bit of his food because I didn't want to overdo it because we were going to dinner that night at Bonaparte. So I wanted to have a nice empty stomach. For lunch it was an excellent lunch. Dinner looks to be just as good if not better. We actually did order off the dinner menu but the portions were slightly downsized for lunch size.

Best French onion soup & duck dish I've ever had! It was amazing. The jazz was also really good. Our service was really on top of it but he was a little rude & made a comment about only ordering one appetizer. Otherwise though we highly recommend the place. The mousse was the best dessert

This might be my favorite restaurant in the world. The food alone makes this five stars. I've had the mushroom risotto topped with braised lamb, linguini with duck confit, & the lamb chops. All were excellent. Great wine selection. Chocolate mousse pyramid for dessert was amazing. The live music is the best I've ever seen while dining. Each time we visited Modavie, we saw GL Chambers & Band who perform a soulful mix of rock & blues. They are so talented & play with such a warm spirit. The music brings Modavie from a five star restaurant to a special must-visit destination.

Everything was beyond exceptional. As soon as we sat down water & bread service was provided & our drink orders were very quick. I ordered the escargot & it was amazing. Main courses ordered were: Duck Confit, mushroom risotto & the steak which were all phenomenal. The duck fell apart beautifully & the sauce was complimentary to everything in the dish. The risotto was probably the best I've ever had & I would live off of it if I could. & the steak was so juicy & I didn't know it was a flank cut until I was told. I would & will be going back again next time I'm in Montreal!

My boyfriend & I loved this restaurant. Their drinks were really creative & delicious. They were also reasonably priced. We had the French onion soup & snails as an appetizer, & then tried the duck & the lamb for our mains. Everything was delicious & fresh. I had the raspberry sorbet as a dessert & my boyfriend had a chocolate mousse cake. The service was good & our server even took the time to write a list of other restaurants he recommended in downtown & old Montreal for us to visit during our trip. The restaurant was very cosy & they even had live music playing. It wasn't too loud & we would highly recommend this place for your next date spot.

We came here for the Christmas Eve prie fixe meal so can only speak to that. The place itself is wonderful & charming. Service was top notch. They had lovely live music. Drinks were excellent. The food however did not come close to expectations, especially at the $140 CD a person. We ordered three filet mignons at medium rare. One was medium, one was medium rare, & one was just seared & so raw I thought it was seared tuna. The duck was so dry & flavorless you could use it as a dog toy. The scallops were cold, very dry, & chewy. Not sure what they were going for there, maybe scallop jerky. The manager did come by & was very apologetic & took some items off the bill. But any restaurant shooting for high end dining at $140 a head, they need to deliver & delight.

The best restaurant we have had on our trip so far. May even go back again before we leave. Foies gra was the best I've ever had & duck confit was amazing. Loved everything about this place.

It's worth trying their duck confit & mussels & fries, the sauce on both dishes was so good! We also ordered onion soup & beef tartare for starters, the soup was a bit salty & the toast served with the beef was a bit hard. They tasted good but weren't as good as the main courses. Their bread basket was so delicious btw

Excellent service! Went for a dinner with my family. I would say the food was pretty average considering the prices. Also wish they have better cocktails. My mom loved the duck confit though.

Great atmosphere with love music & kind staff. The set menu was great & filling. Specifically liked the duck confit, escargot & the chocolate pyramid. We also got the seafood pasta which was honestly disappointing.

We throughly enjoyed our experience at Modavie. Duck confit was to die for, also the mushroom risotto was great. The real show stopper was service. Our server Rad, was outstanding. Made us feel like family. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

My girlfriend & I walked past Modavie & saw the menu outside & we were impressed. Buddy our server was very professional & attentive. He gave us a nice description of all the special items. We ordered the Snails & scallops to start & they were delicious. For the second course, we got Duck Confit & the Lamb rack & it was top tier. The cocktail Red Velvet is highly recommended. There was live music. Felt very romantic. If I ever get to go back to Montreal, I will be visiting Modavie every time I am in town. The pre fix menu is also good if you want to try different items on the menu.

Lovely dinner, the server is not good at English so he ended up avoiding our table, which was a large group of 7 & we spent around 100 each in wine & dine so I think it was not so bad to get a lame servicd. Water is not refilled & in a rush to finish us up (& our reservation & got pushed back 45 mins later so not our fault we came 2 hours befote last call). The server mentioned the lamb is specialty of restaurant but it clearly did not executed well, there is still unpleasant lamb smell. But the duck is clearly the star of this restaurant, we got the seared duck & the winter pasta (foie gras & duck meat & truffle) which is absolutely amazing. We will come back just for the pasta. Steak also very good, mashed potato is creamy just enough. As travellers, understanding we went to Quebec but hopefully the server can be a bit more proactive (I mean, doesn't really need to speak any English & just being attentive to refill water or give us some lights on the table in the dark corner?)

My friends & I were celebrating my friend's Bachelor Party/Trip on labour day weekend in Montreal, & I insisted that we get authentic French cuisine seeing as how we came all the way from Toronto. Modavie exceeded every expectation everyone had. The Atmosphere was very pleasing, with low noise volumes that I found quite nice as loud environments tend to make me uncomfortable, along with the decor & lighting being very well done. The service by Quentin was absolutely exceptional, making us feel quite at home & being attentive to our needs. He suggested another establishment for an evening drink as our reservation ended & the resturaunt was full & we found our way there based on his description. The food itself was absolutely out of this dimension. Never before have I tasted anything as refined as the bone marrow, garlic snails & duck confit. The flavors of each dish were lovingly curated like a selection of the finest paintings at the Louvre. The creme brulee was the perfect dessert to finish with, with its thick, stain glass worthy shell & it's decadent, eye widening pudding. I will recommend this establishment to everyone I know is going to Montreal, & bragging about it to everyone else. Merci beaucoup, Modavie!

Was disappointed by the food while visiting Modavie condidering the price & reviews. We ordered the $42 3 course meal with snapper as the main. We found the duck confit & snapper to be very dry. Didn't enjoy the snapper sauce as it was very bland & the duck sauce was on the salty side. We also were required to wait 45 minutes before getting a table & found the bread very hard & not hot. We overall didn't find that our dishes were worth the price.

Our waiter was really great & attentive. We liked the vibe & the live music was great. All the drinks were delicious. The food was solid comfort french food (everything was good but not extraordinary). We had the mussels, duck confit, lamb pasta, steak. All solid.

So lovely & food was so good. We had duck confit, lamb chop & steak. Service is also very nice. We made reservation on a weekday late evening. It was still quite full when we arrived. Loved it!
