Modavie is a timeless place that brings us back to our roots, where ladies & gents gather and eat in a lively atmosphere caused by great conversation, live music and the wooden scents of a vintage room. Born in 1997, it quickly became popular among locals & visitors, and is now considered a Montreal institution.

Food is consistently good. Service is also very good considering how busy they can get. They have live jazz music upstairs & downstairs which i think is a plus. They do have a bar section on the ground floor if you prefer to avoid the larger rooms with live music

Dinner on a Monday night & couldn't believe how incredible it would be. Service is way above expectations & food was delicious. Calamari is worth ordering. Lamb burger is underrated! One of the best burgers I have ever had! The acoustic music upstairs was something I could have sat & listened to for hours.. Just an overall amazing dinner & experience! Make the reservation & enjoy!

A beautiful & delicious French establishment perfectly situated in Old Montreal, flanked by adorable shops, cafes, & more to explore along Rue St-Paul Ouest. General Manager Lorenzo was warm, welcoming, & friendly with all guests, adding to the lively ambiance. Menu favorites of mine included the Salmon Tartare, Onion Soup, & Duck Confit. Unfortunately, I did not get to return during later evening hours for the live music, but hope to be back soon! Cheers to Lorenzo & his Team for a wonderful experience.

Good food, good atmosphere, but we felt ignored by the servers. The bill came 10mins after we asked for it. Another 10mins for him to come back with the machine. That's lot of time spent on waiting I feel, & the tables aren't even half full...

Lorenzo was extremely helpful helping us change a reservation we made on open table. He is charming. The food was good to average & the atmosphere was ok. We came for the music.

Stumbled in here by chance & it ended up being one of my favorite dining experiences in Montréal!

Service: exceptional

Food: I got the moules frites & it was incroyable. Sooooo many mussels & fries, I was stuffed. The sauce is so good too.

They have a great wine list as well & the staff will let you try any of them before committing (even if you are just ordering a glass).

Highly recommend if you want top notch service & food. Big portion sizes so come hungry!

I walked in solo without reservations at 4pm for Modavie's dinner service. They accommodated me easily with a cozy 2 top near a window, but let me know I'd have to be done within 2 hours.
The waiter was friendly, brought me table bread quickly & recommended a great glass of red wine that paired perfectly with my lamb chops.
The meal, the music & the service were all 10/10.

Fantastic service, very prompt & welcoming. The only reason Im giving a 4 for food, is because I asked my lamb chops medium rare...& as you can see, they were medium.

Everything was tasty, & so delicious!

I recommend!
