First, I want to thank Jerome for making our first date night in almost 3 years an extraordinary experience. I am not using "extraordinary " out of context here. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you showed us during our meal. I am so thankful. My husband & I could not have asked for a better person to serve us our meal. I want to also thank the other service staff, you were so kind to us throughout the entire meal. Second, the food was very flavorful. My husband & I left nothing on our plates. The French onion beer soup was beautiful on a cold winter night. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection (medium rare) . The desserts did not disappoint us as they were just as good as the rest of the meal. I would highly recommend trying this place, & asking for Jerome. He will make you wish everyone in the service industry was as kind & attentive as he is. Thank you for making a special night even more memorable for us.
This was soooo good. As a family of 4 we shared dumplings & calamari for an entree & they were so yummy. Then we did the steak & fries & that was the best feed we have had on holidays yet. To finish we shared the profiteroles with ice cream. So good. The service was excellent, staff were terrific & the location was brilliant. Highly recommend.

The oysters were fresh & came with the usual garnishes. The French onion soup was flavorful & a lovely start to the meal. The caramelized onions gave the soup a beautiful flavor. We got the 24oz dry aged cote de bouf. The steak had that distinct aged flavor infused into the meat & fat however was missing that nice crusty char on the outside. Service was non existent. Our waiter took our order but was never seen again until dessert. Finished dishes would accumulate on our table & not be cleared.
Had a lovely on a Wednesday night with friends. While the food was delicious, what truly stood out was Valter's exceptional service. He was attentive without being intrusive. He timed each course perfectly, & it felt like he knew just when to check in. We never had to ask for a water refill which was greatly appreciated. Great steak, great companies, & exceptional service! Highly recommended! Would come again.
My boyfriend & I were on a short visit to Montreal, & we're so glad we chose Méchant Boeuf. The food, the service, & the ambience were all fantastic. I had the 35oz dry aged porterhouse, & he had the 45oz Tomahawk ribeye. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, & the sauces complimented them. Valter was an amazing server. He was knowledgeable & courteous. We didn't have to wait for anything. He took our experience & made it one to remember. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience.
came to visit montreal & wanted to experience a steak house & found Mechant Boeuf. My friends & I had an amazing time, the food & drinks was 10/10. Our server was so kind & the customer service was out of this world. I would definitely recommend coming here & i will be back!!

Our first night in Montreal we wandered into the hotel steakhouse & had a great experience. Our server Quentin made us feel welcome & took great care of us. Strongly recommend!
I recently dined at Méchant Boeuf in Montreal & had a great experience overall. The service was outstanding, attentive, & friendly, which made our meal enjoyable. We tried the steak tartare, which had a unique kick, setting it apart from other tartares I've tasted. It was flavorful & had a nice texture. We also ordered the poutine with brisket; while the poutine was delicious, I felt the brisket could have used a bit more seasoning to enhance its flavor. The restaurant is in a great location, making it a convenient spot to enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend it & give it four stars!

Was craving steak frites all week & this hit the spot! Took me on time/had a reservation & each course came out in a timely way. My server Sarah R was very courteous & accommodating.
Had a fantastic dinner here in Old Montreal. 45oz tomahawk steak cooked to perfection. Everything came out fresh & hot, & the service was great. The place was jam packed from the moment we arrived until we left at the end of the evening. Would highly recommend!!!
Stumbled across this place by chance after a river cruise. Thought we'd give it a try & glad we did. Our server, Valter was amazing. His knowledge about the fare they serve was very good. 3 of us, & we all decided on the sirloin steak which came highly recommended after being asked what we were looking for. If ever in Montreal again, would definitely go & dine here.

This restaurant is delicious, well-organized & lively. The finest steak, delicious seafood, pasta, varied appetizers & the place has great music! Open windows make it feel like a terrasse but the temp is cool inside. I can't say enough about the wine list. Chenelle gave us some great food recommendations & was very knowledgeable about wine, champagne & prosecco. An excellent manager watches over all the small details. I ended up there by accident but I will certainly go again on purpose!

We went here twice in two weeks because it was so good. The first time we were served by Sarah & the second by Valter. Superb service, faultless. The sommelier was also excellent & provided great advice for our wine selections. The food is outstanding - first time we all had steak & the second the seafood platter. Food was faultless & super fresh. Great ambience, extensive wine list, amazing service. One of the best restaurants in Montreal from our experience.
On Tuesday July 9, 2024, my wife & I had a reservation at the restaurant Mechant Boeuf in Vieux Montreal. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a great table right in front of the windows, which were open as the weather was so warm & pleasant. The service by our waiter Nolan was nothing short of perfect! His wine suggestion went perfectly with our supper. We had a calamari appetizer which was crispy & hot. We both had ribeye steaks which were cooked exactly how we requested, served hot & they were delicious & tender!! We took a side of French Fries with one & a green salad with the other. The salad had a really tasty dressing!! A side of mushrooms, which were out of this world, was the perfect accompaniment! The steaks came with a nice selection of vegetables. We found that the restaurant had suffered a bit with food quality & service following Covid (as did many). I am happy to state that under the leadership of the General Manager Laurent Plantavin, they are back to the high standard of quality that had made Mechant Boeuf one of our go-to restaurants for special occasions with family & friends. We will be back to celebrate at this fine restaurant again!!
