Le serveur Valter nous a accueilli magnifiquement. L'ambiance est incroyable & la nourriture est tout simplement exquise. Le steak vieilli que nous avons commandé était cuit à la perfection. Compliment a notre serveur & aux bussboys qui ont fait un travail remarquable.

We had a great time! Steaks & drinks were great but it has to be said the service was top notch. Sarah was on point, super friendly, & pretty funny. Its a great place & we'll definitely be back due to how great the food & service was.

This restaurant is beautiful & romantic, with the exposed brick & dim lights inside. Our server, Sarah, was the most kind, attentive & polite. She made our anniversary night perfect. We had the seafood platter to start. It was incredibly fresh. For entrees we had the short rib & rib steak & both were flavourful & delicious. highly recommended.

The entire staff - from Amelie, the hostess & Emma our waitress made this experience outstanding! The food was amazing & if you have not been there - you need to go. Everything was tasty from apps, salad, steak & sides & desserts! They even had Green Chartreuse for a Last Word! Thank you for the great memories!

I recently had the steak & shrimp at The Merchant Boeuf, & it was absolutely outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, & bursting with flavor - while the shrimp were perfectly seasoned & grilled just right. The combination of the two was pure indulgence.
Everything from the presentation to the portion size showed real attention to detail. The sides complemented the meal beautifully, & the sauce tied it all together perfectly. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made sure everything was spot on from start to finish.
The atmosphere was warm & inviting, with a lively energy that made the evening even more enjoyable. Whether you're a steak lover or just looking for an exceptional dining experience in Montreal, The Merchant Boeuf is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

A bit pricey but when the food comes out it's entirely worth it. I still think about this steak one week on from eating it. Not sure when I'll be back in Montréal but this will be one of my stops for sure.

The restaurant itself & the food was good. But to pay this much for the service is really tough. I have time to sit here & leave a review because I've been waiting to pay for 25 minutes now. The table next to us waited for 20 min to order drinks & no one came so they got up & left, completely ridiculous for an expensive steak house. I'd try elsewhere where they take care of their guests better, our server was kind but only waited on table all night. It's not slammed busy so I'm not sure why the service is so minimal.

It was a beautiful ambiance, great service from our server Sarah. We enjoyed the rib steak for our anniversary dinner, it was tender & very well seasoned! I had an exceptional experience & highly recommend Mechant Boeuf!

Top shelf from start to finish. Started with some craft cocktails & straight into the oysters. Perfectly cooked steaks all around for dinner followed by a stunning dessert. The staff were very friendly & helpful in choosing some menu items. Looking forward to coming back again.

One of My Best Dining Experiences This Year so Far.
I visited Méchant Boeuf for a farewell dinner on my last night in Montreal, & it was nothing short of exceptional.
I arrived about 10 minutes before my host, who had made the reservation. The hostess greeted me with a warm smile, was incredibly friendly, & seated me right away, a lovely welcome to what would become a memorable evening.
The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between elegant & cozy, ideal for fine dining but still inviting & relaxed. The space was beautifully designed, & it's easy to see why both tourists & locals return time & again. My hosts have dined here often & always had great things to say.
We started with the fried calamari, which was crisp, perfectly seasoned, & full of flavor, a great opener. For the main course, our group shared the largest tomahawk steak on the menu. It came with generous sides & was cooked to a flawless medium rare. Juicy, tender, & flavorfu, it needed no extra seasoning at all. Easily the best steak I've had in quite some time.
Our meal was perfectly complemented by a wine recommended by our attentive & knowledgeable waiter, Simon. He gave us an excellent breakdown of the beef selection process & cooking techniques & helped us find the ideal wine pairing for our meal.
Although we didn't order dessert, we were pleasantly surprised with two boxes of bite-sized sweets to share, a thoughtful touch that ended the night on a high note.
This was easily one of my best restaurant experiences of the year. I highly recommend Méchant Boeuf & would absolutely return. Reservations are recommended!

Among the restaurants in the middle of the tourist attraction, this was one of the very good choices. The atmosphere & price were reasonable enough to celebrate the last day of the trip, & despite being a steakhouse, we had a great selection of dietary options. In particular, Simon, a very friendly server at our table, made our evenings a little more lovely with his positive vibes, recommending good options for local wines, & suggesting group photos first. It was a great experience.

Méchant Boeuf is a very good steakhouse. The staff is polite & accommodating, we came for a birthday & were not disappointed. Food quality is exquisite, special shout out to our waitress. The wait time for the tomahawk steak was a bit long, around an hour, but at the end, it was well worth it.
If you're looking for a unique experience in the heart of Montreal, this restaurant offers exactly the type of gastronomic getaway you'd expect, all at a fair price with great staff.
The prices are steep, but this is justified with the taste & food quality. We did not mind at all

Sat at the bar & had my dinner there, great Bartender Jean L. , very knowledgeable & great conversationalist. Great service, had Steak Tartare, Ribeye… au poivre . Atmosphere is great & beers are fresh & crisp. Cocktails thumbs up.
Thanks to bartender Jean for making the eve great. Even got Profiteroles on the house as a buyback. Nice touch.

Came for dinner on Sunday after a day at the Grand Prix. Overall, our experience, the service, & the food were outstanding. Our server was Emma & she was a total rockstar!!
Even with the restaurant at full capacity over a major event weekend, Emma was able to ensure our water & wine glasses were always topped up, we had timing updates about when to expect the next course of our meal, & she even helped make recommendations for places for brunch the following day. The service was the best we had out of all the restaurants we ate at.
The food was outstanding! We enjoyed the beef carpaccio, shrimps cocktail, ribeye steaks, Monte Cristo potatoes, & ended with the profiteroles for dessert. I could write a whole essay on my obsession with the Monte Cristo potatoes - they are a MUST try! I would make a trip back to Méchant Boeuf for these potatoes alone.
Every element of the meal was spot on! This was far & away the best meal I ate in Montreal during our trip (& we had the chance to enjoy the legendary'duck in a can' earlier in the weekend, iykyk).
If you are in Montreal, do not miss the chance to eat here, & definitely do not skip the Monte Cristo potatoes - seriously it was THAT good!
