First, I want to thank Jerome for making our first date night in almost 3 years an extraordinary experience. I am not using "extraordinary " out of context here. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you showed us during our meal. I am so thankful. My husband & I could not have asked for a better person to serve us our meal. I want to also thank the other service staff, you were so kind to us throughout the entire meal. Second, the food was very flavorful. My husband & I left nothing on our plates. The French onion beer soup was beautiful on a cold winter night. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection (medium rare) . The desserts did not disappoint us as they were just as good as the rest of the meal. I would highly recommend trying this place, & asking for Jerome. He will make you wish everyone in the service industry was as kind & attentive as he is. Thank you for making a special night even more memorable for us.

This was soooo good. As a family of 4 we shared dumplings & calamari for an entree & they were so yummy. Then we did the steak & fries & that was the best feed we have had on holidays yet. To finish we shared the profiteroles with ice cream. So good. The service was excellent, staff were terrific & the location was brilliant. Highly recommend.
Had a lovely on a Wednesday night with friends. While the food was delicious, what truly stood out was Valter's exceptional service. He was attentive without being intrusive. He timed each course perfectly, & it felt like he knew just when to check in. We never had to ask for a water refill which was greatly appreciated. Great steak, great companies, & exceptional service! Highly recommended! Would come again.
Amazing experience. Marie Joelle, Julien & the whole team behind the bar were so friendly. & the food was awesome. This meal in Vancouver would have been 3X. Highly recommend!!!
We had a lovely evening in the Mechant Boeuf. We were well looked after by our waiter Valter. He was both friendly & extremely efficient. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Couldn't ask for a better restaurant! I'm here in Montreal on business & after many salads, I needed something more... Merchant Boeuf served up the perfect course of three. Cannot recommend highly enough. Super service, delicious wine & scrumptious food. I've been before, I'll return again. Ambience is delightful; seated next to open window with Old Port life in the street & the hum of a lively eatery inside.

I ate at the bar two nights in a row because it was so good. The bartender customized a cocktail for me, which was nice, & kept me in club soda, which was extra nice. I had a perfectly cooked filet mignon one night, & the most outrageously good veggie burger the other night. It was a little noisy for my taste, but Fein, as a solo diner. I highly recommend this restaurant & will definitely be back.
Had a fantastic dinner here in Old Montreal. 45oz tomahawk steak cooked to perfection. Everything came out fresh & hot, & the service was great. The place was jam packed from the moment we arrived until we left at the end of the evening. Would highly recommend!!!
Stumbled across this place by chance after a river cruise. Thought we'd give it a try & glad we did. Our server, Valter was amazing. His knowledge about the fare they serve was very good. 3 of us, & we all decided on the sirloin steak which came highly recommended after being asked what we were looking for. If ever in Montreal again, would definitely go & dine here.
Quality steak restaurant in Old Montreal. Great steaks cooked perfectly along with a lovely bottle of red wine. We finished off with liquor coffees. Well looked after by staff, highly recommended.

The wine selection was superb, offering a variety that complemented the meal beautifully. The staff at MechantBoeuf were amazing, providing top service with a friendly & professional demeanor. They were attentive & knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The atmosphere at MechantBoeuf was vibrant & welcoming. We wanted to have dinner as part of Happening Gourmand - 3 courses for $49. The appetizers & the main were very delicious. As appetizers we had spinach soup & heart of palm tartare. Both were tasty but spinach soup was on the spicier side if you are sensitive. We both got steak & fries as main. Steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender & easy to eat. I am not big on sauces so I preferred having the meat only with butter. For desserts we had one of each. I would say desserts are not on the same level as appetizers & main. The brownie was dry & not warm. Profiteroles felt like they waited in the fridge before served. I would probably order an extra appetizer & skip the dessert next time. We also had the Feeling Fresh cocktail without syrup & it was so refreshing! I highly recommend. The ambiance was very nice. We loved the lights & table lamps on each table. The staff was friendly & service was very fast. We didn't have long pauses in between the courses which I appreciate. Overall, I will definitely go back to try other things on the menu. Thank you!!

Visited Merchant Boeuf recently & had an exceptional dining experience! We indulged in two poutines with succulent beef brisket, which were absolutely delicious - the perfect blend of crispy fries, savory gravy, & tender brisket. The Méchant burgers we ordered were also a hit, juicy & flavorful, easily some of the best we've had. The spicy chicken sandwiches were another highlight, packing just the right amount of heat & taste to leave us thoroughly impressed. Beyond the food, the cocktails were a standout. Each one we tried was fantastic, showcasing a creative mix of flavors that were both refreshing & delightfully balanced. The atmosphere of the place added to the enjoyment, making our meal there not just a dinner, but a truly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend Merchant Boeuf for anyone looking for top-notch food & drinks in a welcoming setting. It's a place we'll definitely return to!

I have been at Mechant Boeuf multiple times, & each time, the service & food are great. Today, I tried their "Happy Gourmand" Brunch menu & loved if. Pictured here is the Benny with spinach & mushrooms. Their cocktails are also very nice. Highly recommend for brunch or dinner.
