went here with my friend & it did not disappoint at all. we were so amazed by the amazing flavour of every single meal we had. i would definitely recommend sharing/splitting items! it's a much better experience & can actually help you save a little on your final bill. it was such a nice, romantic atmosphere but was a little chilly, so learn from my mistake & wear long sleeves! valet was super helpful & reliable, had no problems with that & made the experience stress free. we got the classic tzatziki, truffled crispy tyropita, pastitsio with seasonal fresh black truffle, & the spanakopita salad. each meal was mouthwatering. overall, amazing experience & we are already planning our next visit!

The food was DELICIOUS. Honestly everything we ordered tasted so good & was so fresh. The grilled octopus HIT the spot, the free range chicken was juicy & so tasty & the lamb… listen, you just gotta go & try it for yoursel!! ⭐?⭐?⭐?

I only took out 0.5 because it seems that it was a busy night & our server was responsible for multiple tables which sometimes caused longer wait times for us to get his attention but that's not something YLIAN could control. He was wonderful from beginning to end, really chill vibe & demeanor & making sure he wasn't hovering over us. We did get a chance to have a nice conversation with him at the end of the night & he is a lovely young man! Wishing him the best in his future plans.

We found a parking when we arrived on the next street but used the valet service to make sure the car would be moved to the front of the restaurant whenever possible. It wasn't so we essentially paid to have our car parked where we left it the whole night & brought to us at the end of the night - we could have walked. 😅
All in all, I would go back cause I want to try everything on the menu!

Six of us went for dinner on New Year's Day while on a quick trip from Toronto. We already had high expectations for this restaurant, but it completely exceeded them. Nicki was an exceptional server & struck the perfect balance of attentiveness, personality, & professionalism. He walked us through the menu, helped curate our experience, & offered spot on recommendations. Honestly, Nicki's service alone is reason enough to visit.
The food was flavourful, fresh, & beautifully balanced with comforting, familiar flavours & modern twists. It more than lived up to the menu descriptions & beyond. This will absolutely be a must visit spot anytime we are in Montreal.
Thank you Nicki for ending our trip on such a high & bringing so many laughs to our dinner!!
Absolutely decadent! The dippings for the pita bread is to die for! The filet mignon is so incredibly tender & juicy, it's better than some of the steaks I had in steakhouses. The salads are very fresh. It's just such an aesthetic environment & the servers are so nice.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious - every dish was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The ambience was warm & inviting, making it a perfect place to relax & enjoy a great meal.

An amazing restaurant located in a renovated hotel, hotel Nellygan in old downtown Montreal. Amazing decoration, amazing ambience & the first drink at the bar.
We had some delicious dishes to share all of them with a great presentation & super nyami & then sea bass as a second, which was tasty, fresh & exquisite. We share 2 super tasty desserts that leave us without words. Definitely a place to go back again.
I'll start off by saying I think the food was great, very fresh & the meat was cooked perfectly. However besides the taste of the food, I would say everything else was subpar. The service was extremely slow. It took us almost an hour from the time we were seated to get our drinks. We also had to ask to have our water glasses refilled multiple times. Then it was more than an hour between the two services. We were told that we would only be able to order once since they don't let you order multiple times when it's busy, so when I ordered for the table (group of 8) the waitress ensured it was enough for all of us. However when the food came, we literally each got 1 bite of each dish. They also did not have the size of fish we ordered in stock so they brought us a smaller one which was way too small for our group. Then when it came time to pay the bill we asked her to split it evenly between 6 of us (it was 2 friends birthday so we paid their part of the bill). However when the 6 bills came, they were all different prices. To make it easier I just said put it on one bill & we will split it ourselves. Then when she brings the bill back it is the longest bill I've ever seen. She said she could only fix the bill (to have each item listed only once) by cancelling the order & re-entering it so I said ok please do that so it's easier for us to split after. She then says she doesn't want to & won't do that because it'messes up her stats'… very strange answer… honestly for the price I would not recommend

Mamac is truly one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Everything is thoughtfully planned, & the staff is incredibly friendly & attentive. They offer a wide range of options & great suggestions to help you choose. The steak was perfectly cooked, & you can even watch the team prepare the fish for you - no need to do it yourself! Make sure to try the octopus - it's tender & full of flavor - & their fresh, delicious salads. & whatever you do, don't skip the desserts - they're absolutely not to be missed! A top-tier dining experience from start to finish.
I honestly don't understand why this place is only rated 4.4 as it deserves so much higher! I'll admit, I was hesitant to come after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so glad I did. I brought a client here, & we ended up ordering almost everything on the menu - every single dish was outstanding.
The octopus was perfectly seasoned & juicy, the moussaka was beautifully done, the Greek salad was fresh, & even the beef mignon was incredibly tender. The service, staff, decor, & ambiance were all impeccable.
I'll definitely be coming back with friends & clients alike. If you're reading this, don't let the online rating fool you, go try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
The breakfast we had here was delicious! Scrambled eggs were perfect, fresh fruit, bacon & potatoes were great. Melissa was our waitress & was very accommodating .😊
From the moment we sat down for Breakfast, Melissa made us feel relaxed & welcome. She recommended a fresh green juice which did not disappoint & then we both had Montréal bagels with cream cheese & smoked salmon. The food came quickly but we never felt rushed… the perfect start to a wonderful visit in Montreal! Thank you Melissa & Mama C!!

Absolutely outstanding! Authentic Greek flavors, generous portions, & warm, welcoming service that makes you feel like family. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully prepared. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional Greek dining experience.

Absolutely loved my experience at Mama C! The atmosphere is warm & elegant, with stunning decor that feels like a perfect mix of Mediterranean charm & Old Montreal sophistication.
The food was phenomenal - fresh, vibrant, & beautifully plated. The dorade sashimi & the lamb shoulder (carved right at the table!) were absolute standouts.
A special shoutout to Leslie, the sommelière, who made our night extra special. Her wine recommendations were thoughtful & spot-on, & you could really feel her passion & deep knowledge. She brought a whole new layer of enjoyment to the meal - the wine pairings truly elevated each dish.
Service overall was excellent: attentive, friendly, & unrushed. Mama C is ideal for date night, a celebration, or just a memorable evening out. Can't wait to return!

Disappointing Birthday Dinner & Chef's Menu at Mama C
We chose Mama C for a birthday dinner (5 girls), & while our server was incredibly friendly, the experience was a letdown. We requested light, veggie-focused dishes with no raw food due to a pregnancy. Despite this, we opted for the Chef's Menu, expecting the best.
Instead, the first course was raw, & every subsequent dish was overly creamy, rich, & repetitive. The final course was two disappointing pasta dishes - not what we came to a Greek restaurant for. Portions were doubled, leading to excessive waste. One pasta dish tasted horribly fishy, resulting in diarrhea for all of us & vomiting for one later that night.
When we voiced our disappointment about the lack of fresh seafood, our server admitted she knew the Chef's Menu wasn't adaptable & suggested a custom menu for a return visit. This was frustrating - why wasn't this offered initially, especially after we stated our preferences? The service was also incredibly slow; our 7 PM reservation ended at 11:15 PM.
Overall, despite a great server, the Chef's Menu at Mama C failed to deliver, leaving us unwell & completely underwhelmed.
The food is good but I feel the place is overrated & a bit pricey for what it is. I would recommend Milos over this place any day. Portions are quite small, the fresh pitas are nice. The food was good but not great. It's a hotel restaurant after all so perhaps I shouldn't be that strict but for that price point I expected better... Perhaps the hype made me have too high expectations for this place, so I was a bit disappointed 😞.
The octopus was amazing, but the shrimp & orzo dish was our favorite. The sea bass tartare was fresh & delicious. We had the chocolate tart with pistachios, ice cream & beautiful lattes to end what was a truly phenomenal meal. Other people were talking about how amazing the lamb is, so we will have to go back to try that. Even the asparagus we ordered was charred to perfection with a citrus sauce, sprinkled with feta... Truly delicious!
The decor is beautiful & made up of marble & leather. We sat at an amazing table that looked out on a beautiful street in the heart of the old Port. All around us were little intimate places which are perfect for working or romance.
But it is the staff that take the experience to another level. Working together as a seamless team, everyone from the valet to the waiter & waitresses to the chef were attentive & kind.
We had a fabulous time from beginning to end. Truly a wonderful experience.
100% recommend, the food is fresh & very flavourful, the service is great , very nice decor too. The Dorad Sashimi was fantastic just like everything else.
