Their French onion soup is absolutely spectacular, rich, flavorful, & comforting. They made this version with beer.
The lunch menu is very well thought out, starting at around $28 CAD per person. You can choose a main & a dessert, or a main & an appetizer, & there are small extras for certain upgrades. For example, selecting the onion soup comes with a $4 CAD extra.
Portions are larger than I expected. I also tried the stuffed pasta, which was really tasty & cooked perfectly.

J'ai passé un très bon moment dans ce restaurant chaleureux avec du style. La nourriture était très bonne & le service très présent & discret. Nous avons pris le brunch & nous nous sommes régalés. Le prix était très bon aussi. Vu la quantité de boeuf à cet endroit, c'est certain que je vais retourner pour un dîner ou un souper.
Souper de Noël d'équipe dans la salle privée Bibliothèque. La décoration était magnifique & l'ambiance parfaite. Le service d'Amélie, de Hi le maître d'hôtel, ainsi que de toute l'équipe qui a organisé & planifié notre soirée, notamment Salomé & Illéana, a été impeccable. Ils ont été très professionnels, attentionnés & de très bons conseils. Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux du début à la fin.
The steaks are high quality & the price definitely reflect that. However, the lobster & onion soup were let down. The lobster wasn't great & a bit dry (likely overcooked) & the onion soup has little to no soup, just a big chunk of onions inside. I would recommend just go for the steak which I would rate 5 stars & the lobsters & onion soup 1-2 stars. Otherwise, great service & atmosphere.
Une belle expérience, nous étions un grand groupe & j'ai vraiment apprécié que tous les plats ont été servi au même moment. En entrée, j'ai eu une soupe de carottes & gingembre (trop saveur à gengimbre pour mon goût) & comme repas principale, j'ai pris le steak bavette qui était délicieux, la portion etait parfait pour moi! Le service était accueillant. La vue de la terrasse en haut est incroyable! Je recommande cet endroit.
C'était notre première expérience chez Maggie Oakes & ce fut un excellent souper .
On nous à demander si nous fêtions quelque chose en particulier & on a répondu notre 17 iem anniversaire.....Nous avons reçu 2 beaux drinks sans alcools (ils se souvenait de ce détails que nous avions précisé au serveur au tout début . Quelle attention !!!
La bouffe est d'une excellente qualité & le service de même .......c'est le pourquoi 5 étoiles dans tout 😀
Great atmosphere but when arrived to attending my 55th birthday dinner with family last Dec 28th & checked in with host, my sister had clearly indicated to host that she solely made 1 reservation not 2 but male host continued to make strong argument with unprofessional tone. Secondly, when our main course arrived to our table 20mins later; to discover that my sautéed mushrooms, French onion soupe (bland & unwanted onion skins) & porterhouse steak every dish were overly salted (including fries) & due to personal health conditions, we could barely touch it & the red wine was like jelly texture when arrived to our table. Thirdly, when advise to waitress that we rarely drink wine & asked waitress what is your least dry wine, she had spoken to us in unprofessional tone that we should of known that you describe your wines as full body & some other terms which I don't quite recall. Otherwise, your crispy shrimp & grilled salmon & lentil begula salad was & why, weren't we informed that $3 would apply to my mother's of hot water? Thank you for taking our review seriously & hope to hear from you soon!
Excellent restaurant pour un souper deux! Belle place, belle atmosphère. Service impeccable mais également agréable de Pascal. A+ pour le Dirty Martini de Zack, il a été fait à la perfection!

Cool looking place, dark ambiance & overall good food. To start, we had the beef tar tar & French onion soup- both awesome. The steak we had porterhouse & shared it. The flavours were great, I will say it was a tad overcooked but we enjoyed it. The sommelier was very helpful & the wine was delicious. Service could have been a touch better for what we paid. They did throw in a free dessert because it was our anniversary which was very nice, really appreciated that.
Fantastic, attentive service with deliciously prepared dishes. The oysters of the day was whatever was available & fresh for the day. The Beluga Lentil salad was light & refreshing. The French Onion soup was tasty & delicious - the portion was huge. The Porterhouse was grilled to a juicy perfection & came with vegetables & we opted for the truffle mash which was heavenly. An overall lovely dinner experience & highly recommended.
Took my daughter & her friend for dinner last night. It was supposed to be a special night. Ordered soup & drinks - not bad. When waiting for the mains, however, we waited almost 2 HOURS. This is unacceptable. If we had gotten a previous heads up stating that the wait would be so long, it would have been better. However, with being told it would be coming after 10 minutes repeatedly, the process became infuriating, & for compensation after the 2 hours of being there, the manager gave us the smallest piece of cheesecake I have ever seen & the thinnest slice of chocolate cake, only knocking off our drinks from the tab. Bad management & bad'client recovery' attempt.
I ordered the coconut crusted salmon for lunch with vegetables. The plate literally had two pieces of zucchini on it with a generous piece of salmon that was bland. My friend ordered vegetable soup & was disappointed to see it was a bowl of puree. Patio is lovely to sit but our food was not impressive.

We were in town for a family event, dined at Maggie Oakes in Old Montreal. Service was impeccable, food was 4 / 5. We enjoyed roasted vegetable soup, salmon tatare, charcuterie Québécois, Filet Mignon, aged Cote de Boeuf for 2. Thank you!
Absolutely delicious! Service & atmosphere was excellent as well. I had the Atlantic sandwich (lobster & shrimp) with salad & broccoli soup. If I lived here, I'd be coming here all the time.
Server was very nice & helpful with the menu. We got Caesar salad & shrimp cocktail as appetizer. Then the Steak Bavette for dinner which was really good along with seasonal veggies & fries. The perfect combo. Also tried the soup of the day. & got the cheese cake for dessert which was tasty.
Brunch was excellent the highlight of my meal was those crispy patates! I Could eat a full Bucket of this littles patatoes!!! 100% 4 stars just because my latte was wayyyyy too small ...bigger cup maybe please Update April 5th We went for early dinner & the dinner is as yummy as brunch! I live it here. The highlight was definitely my onions soup so Goooddd
Overall, we had a great experience. We stopped by for a quick cocktail & lite lunch. The atmosphere was nice, bar service was fantastic, & the food tasted wonderful. Highly recommend the onion soup.
