We came here for brunch, but it took about 30 minutes just to receive our drinks & over an hour for our food. The service felt slow & inattentive, & the food itself was just okay. Overall, we expected better quality from this restaurant.
Dining at this restaurant is always a pleasure. I selected this place to introduce my friends to one of Montreal's hidden gems, & once again, it exceeded all expectations. Despite the heavy rain outside, the staff remained kind, attentive, & welcoming throughout our visit.
We started our evening with cocktails & wine in the central lounge, which offered a cozy, intimate setting. Although we arrived without a reservation, one of the managers accommodated us, providing a table in a particularly special spot near the vertical garden. The seating was comfortable, & the lighting was just right, enhancing the overall ambiance.
Our waitress was friendly & attentive from the moment we sat down. The restaurant's atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern & elegant, making it suitable for any occasion. The music played at a perfect volume, allowing for easy conversation.
As always, the food was outstanding. Every dish was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, & the variety of desserts was the perfect conclusion to our meal. The service was impeccable, with the staff going above & beyond to ensure we had an exceptional experience.
I will definitely be returning & highly recommend the Steak Bavette, Salmon Tartare, the tropical cocktail, & of course, the desserts.

Christmas dinner with the team.
Once again, we enjoyed a wonderful business dinner at a restaurant we truly love. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The warm, welcoming atmosphere combined with the modern décor immediately set the tone for a memorable evening.
Being asked where we preferred to sit made us feel genuinely valued-having that choice is all about comfort. Continuing our now-established tradition during business dinners, we were welcomed with glasses of sparkling wine upon arrival.
We began with a selection of the house specialty cocktails, the perfect way to open our appetites. Sacha, the restaurant director, was, as always, friendly, attentive, & meticulous, ensuring that every detail contributed to an outstanding experience.
For starters, we shared popcorn shrimp, salmon tartare, chicken Caesar salad, & grilled tuna tataki-each dish was delicious & beautifully presented. For the main courses, we chose the grilled salmon, steak baguette, & cod. Every plate was flawlessly presented, with each dish cooked to perfection.
To finish, we enjoyed a perfectly curated dessert selection, offering both variety & indulgence-the ideal way to close the evening.
The service was impeccable throughout the night, consistently attentive & always ready to assist, whether refilling water or suggesting another drink.

What an amazing place the get a bite to eat as the food & drinks are superb.
Maggie Oakes is perfectly located in the heart of where everyone is & it fits perfectly. The atmosphere is very modern with a touch of fine dining. The outdoor patio is very open but a little bit crowded.
The drinks were mixed very nice & had a good amount of imagination when thinking about different drinks. The food was exquisite & presented very well. The combination of Beef & waffles was very different & very good!
The prices are above normal but with the experience & how amazing the food is it is definitely worth it.
Overall, great experience & a great place to have a nice date night or just a night out.
My husband & I went there to have drinks & were a bit disappointed in the service we received especially because we stayed at the William Gray ( where the bar is located) for 4 nights & expected a bit more attention. Not a five star for sure but we would have been satisfied with a four star Treatment.
I would have gladly paid for another drink! But if no one offers, I'm not going to do the job for them.
Came here to celebrate a bachelorette. unfortunately we booked first with the Terrasse William Gray & they'lost' our reservations.
They did set us up in the back corner so we had lots of room. We had a prefix menu at $80 - that was set on the table as we got there so that was great. We were pleasantly to greeted & sat.
I did find that our beverage orders did take quite a while to be taken & then another 20 minutes before actually arriving. As much as they were meticulous with the cleanliness of the table, I feel the follow up for drinks while we waited for our food should've been more frequent. Had it been more frequent? We probably would've ordered more beverages while we waited for our food.
Once our food finally did arrive it wouldn't say it was anything outstanding nothing memorable that makes me feel like I'd like to come back. My highlight of this whole experience was the one espresso martini I was able to have.
Truly enjoyed Maggie Oakes , so much so that we started our day with brunch & decided to go back for a pre-dinner round of cocktails & appetizers.
Made reservations for their Sunday brunch long in advance as it does get busy . Service was good , slightly slow but normal for a crowded Sunday .
We ordered mimosas & hearty brunch items from the menu . Quinoa with beets & feta crumble on top & a side of grilled salmon . Delicious . Classic two eggs with bacon & breakfast potatoes was solid & the smoked salmon with eggs Benedict with hollandaise in the side are great .
We returned in the evening for a pre dinner round of cocktails & an appetizer. Drinks are strong & well prepared . Sangria is a stand out . Goat cheese nougat with crusted pistachios is a perfect spread with bread , plus it is gluten free . Ideal to start the evening off.
Definitely a great place to enjoy drinks , brunch & time with friends

We were there last week, September 2025 & thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. We sat outside & the table were fairly close together. The couple beside us were celebrating their 60th Anniversary the next day which happened to be our 32nd Anniversary that day. The lady beside me saw my Framboise Fatale drink & ordered one asap. We both loved the drink. We all really enjoyed the good food. The service was good. A little slow as it got quite busy, but we didn't mind as we were busy enjoying drinks, food & company. Highly recommend this place.
The staff is lovely, atmosphere is welcoming & the food was/is the best reason to come to the restaurant! Will definitely come again! I had a drink at the bar ans Stacy was such a lovely bartender, we had a chat, some laughs & really made the restaurant more than just a place to dine!
We intended to dine at Terrasse Perche which was closed when we arrived for our reservation. We then found this wonderful restaurant on the ground floor who kindly accommodated us last minute with no reservation at a low-top table on busy easter weekend (THANK YOU!!!!). Service was excellent, the waiter made great drink recommendations & the food was outstanding. We will come again on our next visit to Montreal!

Food was OK but not worth the price. Staff were nice but we weren't asked for drinks at any point. Quiet when we went in. Stylish decor but I wouldn't visit here again.
Arrived before supper menu was available. Had salmon tartare with a garden salad. Tartsre was good, salad was great. Had a Shirley Rosemary to drink, delicious!
The atmosphere & service are second to none. Next time I am on Montreal I will be supping at this establishment.
While staying at the William Gray over the weekend we were able to enjoy an appetizer & some drinks at the bar. Food was great & the service provided by Jamie was top notch! Highly recommend!

C'était notre première expérience chez Maggie Oakes & ce fut un excellent souper .
On nous à demander si nous fêtions quelque chose en particulier & on a répondu notre 17 iem anniversaire.....Nous avons reçu 2 beaux drinks sans alcools (ils se souvenait de ce détails que nous avions précisé au serveur au tout début . Quelle attention !!!
La bouffe est d'une excellente qualité & le service de même .......c'est le pourquoi 5 étoiles dans tout 😀
Great atmosphere but when arrived to attending my 55th birthday dinner with family last Dec 28th & checked in with host, my sister had clearly indicated to host that she solely made 1 reservation not 2 but male host continued to make strong argument with unprofessional tone. Secondly, when our main course arrived to our table 20mins later; to discover that my sautéed mushrooms, French onion soupe (bland & unwanted onion skins) & porterhouse steak every dish were overly salted (including fries) & due to personal health conditions, we could barely touch it & the red wine was like jelly texture when arrived to our table. Thirdly, when advise to waitress that we rarely drink wine & asked waitress what is your least dry wine, she had spoken to us in unprofessional tone that we should of known that you describe your wines as full body & some other terms which I don't quite recall. Otherwise, your crispy shrimp & grilled salmon & lentil begula salad was & why, weren't we informed that $3 would apply to my mother's of hot water? Thank you for taking our review seriously & hope to hear from you soon!
Took my daughter & her friend for dinner last night. It was supposed to be a special night. Ordered soup & drinks - not bad. When waiting for the mains, however, we waited almost 2 HOURS. This is unacceptable. If we had gotten a previous heads up stating that the wait would be so long, it would have been better. However, with being told it would be coming after 10 minutes repeatedly, the process became infuriating, & for compensation after the 2 hours of being there, the manager gave us the smallest piece of cheesecake I have ever seen & the thinnest slice of chocolate cake, only knocking off our drinks from the tab. Bad management & bad'client recovery' attempt.
Great place to have dinner & drinks. Staff was super friendly, they really care about the customer experience, there was a little confusion with out order but they corrected it so promptly & ensured we were happy with our service at all times. I tried the salmon grilled fillet & was so good. Cocktails are algo very good & the view to old Montreal plaza is very very nice. Worth it 100%!!
