After a day on the trails, its cozy, rustic atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, but the food & drinks truly elevated the experience. We were immediately impressed by their creative cocktails, which were a clear cut above standard pub offerings. While their Fish & Chips were perfectly crispy & delicious, the absolute showstopper was a surprisingly brilliant linguine. Absolutely loved our dinner at Mactaverne. The NY strip steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender, flavorful, & exactly how I like it. We finished the meal with the sticky toffee pudding, which was fantastic. I also had the best Guinness I have ever tasted. It was smooth, rich, & perfectly poured. Huge thanks to Tim, who suggested some incredible wines for my wife. I wish I had written the names down because she loved every one. Great service, great food, great atmosphere.
