This was our first visit to the MacTaverne Pub & it's not going to be our last. The pub & the food are just amazing. The staff are energetic, polite, fun & provide excellent service. It has a really friendly & chilled atmosphere. We met with one of the owners (Tim) & he really runs a top class establishment here. We stayed the night & the room was super comfortable & perfectly clean. Breakfast was really nice (Served by Tim's father) who is also a super nice guy. Thanks Tim for a wonderful experience !
We stopped into Pub Mactaverne & it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The food was outstanding - everything came out fresh, full of flavour, & clearly made with care. This isn't your average pub grub; you can tell the kitchen actually takes pride in what they send out.
What really made the visit, though, was Tim, the owner. He was warm, welcoming, & made us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. He checked in without hovering, had great recommendations, & it's obvious he genuinely loves what he's built here. That kind of hospitality is rare.
Great atmosphere, great food, great people. If you're anywhere near the Laurentians, make the stop. We'll be back for sure. Five stars, no hesitation.
Nous avons mangé au MacTaverne pub! C'était vraiment une belle expérience culinaire, le fish & Chips & le burger étaient succulents. La bière aussi était excellente & que dire du service, wow! Julie offre un service extraordinaire. Merci nous reviendrons!

Un passionné qui a visiblement transmis ses valeurs d'enthousiasme & persévérance à ses enfants .. parce que ok ..faut vraiment le vivre pour réalisé a quel point leurs actions son guidée par leur volonté de se démarquer & d'offrir une expérience client ..qui au final nous poussera à prendre le temps d'écrire un message comme celui là ..& d'y croire vraiment en l'écrivant 🧡
J'ai rencontré un chef (des linguine au légume du moment ..a l'aubergine ...aromatiser ...légèrement piquant .. texture ..& cuisson .. parfaite ) écoute ... J'en ai fait des resto .. & sérieusement je classerait ses pâte la dans mon top 2 .. des meilleur pâte que j'ai gouté 🧡 & ce à un prix plus que resonable 👌 l'affaire c'est que j'hésitais mais encore une fois cet fois ci c'est le gérant de plancher que j'ai rencontré .. j'y ai vue le même regard ..faire 3 drinks un à un ...le même geste pour les 3 vers ..pas un tour de sucre de pluss ...haha hey même les verres semblais être autant respecté que sa façon d'être haha jsuis sérieux ! Ça m'a sauté au yeux .. c'est pas habituel de voir ça .. & en même temps ..être vigille de lensemble du plancher... histoire que tout aille à son standard de qualité qu'il s'impose à lui même 🙏👌 la pression .. ils la gèrent ensemble .. un maudite belle équipe ensuite sur de lui ..me decrivant ses menus ..ses ingredients..& surtout leur provenance ! Ils font avec ce qu'il ont sous la main ..des fermes autour qui les alimente en légumes & viandes aussi .. pas de limporté pour maximiser leurs profit...non ... Mais pour maximiser l'expérience client !...la qualité ..provenance local..🧡 attirer les gens non pas par la pub & les panneaux attrayant ..mais par un service & une qualitée hors normes .. & je nexagere pas .. qualité prix .. imbattable .. 👌
Ensuite a mon réveil .. nous étions pressé par le temps & j'ai pris le temps d'expliquer ma problématique a celui qui s'occupait de nous au déjeuner ...la après ses 2 fils Ben je rencontrais le père .. hey avant qui m'explique que c'étais une entreprise familiale j'ai compris ..😅 un désir réel de nous accomoder mais tout en gardant une qualitée encore une fois irréprochable .. un genre de hamburger déjeuner ..galette de viande parfaitement assaisonée ..fromage généreux & surtout une cuisson d'oeuf a la fois ferme mais jaune parfaitement coulant A l'intérieur ... Juste la ça laissait transparaître une rigueur & un désir d'être un cran au dessus des autres ..car nous en avons manger 4 & les 4 étaient identique .. parfait
Ce qui m'amène à vouloir rencontrer le chef pour lui démontré en personne mon appréciation de sa rigueur & désir de qualitée ..& la... surprise Un jeune garçon de 15 ans ! Au fourneau ! Juste ça la .. ça démontre un attrait qui ressort de cet établissement ..🧡 jpourrais parler des lits confortable ... Propreté des lieux .. cachet du mobilier ..& j'en passe 👌

We stayed at the auberge MacTaverne as part of a family cycling trip on the P'tit Train du Nord, & it was an absolute highlight! The auberge is just off the bike path, across the road from the beautiful Rivière du nord. We checked into the the family room (perfect for 2 adults & 1 child), clean, spare but very cosy. Our bikes were secured in a locker below the terasse. We of course decided to try out the pub. Menu was short, but choices of plates & wine by the glass were great. We tried the scotch egg, which to my surprise, was light & tasty, not too heavy. Breakfast in the morning was delicious - I had homemade granola, yogurt & Quebec strawberries, & other family members had the eggy breakfast sandwich. We love that the enterprise is a family affair, & they have revitalized a space that had long been vacant in Val-David. From what we saw, despite being open only a short while (just over a year), things are going gangbusters at the MacTaverne. We will definitely be back!
Tim & the team at Mactaverne Pub have created a truly special atmosphere that feels like home from the moment you walk in. We celebrated my brother-in-law's 30th birthday there, & our large group was seated in their stunning private room, which made the evening even more memorable.
The staff were incredibly attentive, welcoming, & genuinely friendly throughout the night. Every dish seemed to outdo the last-the Scotch eggs, piri piri chicken, & sticky toffee pudding were all absolute 10/10s.
From the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, everything exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back, & I can't recommend this special place highly enough!
Lovely stay at MacTaverne Pub. Great service for both the Inn & Pub. The vibe is relaxed & welcoming. Staff were extremely attentive & checked in often during the meals. Drinks were creative & tasty. The morning breakfast was included & provided a great start to the day. Very good addition to this part of town!
What a great find! The food was delicious, the service was fast & welcoming, & the whole place has a cozy pub vibe that's hard to beat. Everyone was smiling & made us feel right at home. We had a fantastic meal & a couple of drinks, & everything exceeded our expectations. Definitely the best spots we've tried in Val-David.
