Late afternoon lunch, was still quite busy. Ordered half chicken with rice & salad, which was a large portion & had pretty good flavour. Also ordered a poutine, which was a large portion as well. Overall, the food was good, just a bit on the saltier side. Would recommend if your in the area if your looking for large portions & best value for your dollar. Check them out!
Really fun spot! Amazing food, though the portions were HUGE! Ordered way to much food for two people. Two half chickens with fries & salad. Weirdly, while the chicken & fries were great, the salad was also really exceptional. Recommend to anyone who likes good food!
Our go to place for Portuguese chicken. Cooked on charcoal served with fresh salad or fries & their tasty sauce. Expect long line ups but it moves fast
Stopped by Ma Poule Mouillée during our visit to Montreal & it did not disappoint!! We had the Poulet & chouriço grillé, served with fries & salad, & the portions were huge. The chicken was incredibly moist, flavorful, & absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, making the experience even better. Highly recommended if you're looking for a satisfying meal in Montreal!
Quite possibly the best charcoal chicken I have ever had. Incredible smoky charcoal flavour. Poutine was definitely the best I have ever had. Chips are perfectly seasoned & the gravy was perfect. Salads a little bland but you don't come here for the salad. If you visit Montreal, this is a place you must eat at. Expect long lines though. Gets very busy & limited seating. Absolutely worth it though. Amazing.
The chicken most excellent - moist, good tasty skin, this is worth the trip - the fries are what you would expect & a salad. It is a generous helping
The natas were sadly disappointing, min layers of lamination, cold, not crispy pastry, insides are nothing above average
Believe the hype & come here when you're hungry. Generous, moist chicken that doesn't break the bank. The staff was efficient, welcoming & warm. The line is long, but they have the system perfected. We were the 4th group outside the door, but we were ordering within 10 min.
Inside is alot more spacious than you'd think by looking at the outside.
We shared the #2 Louis Cyr which is 1/2 a whole chicken served with abundant fries along with salad with tomatoes.
Get it spicy! It's not really spicy. It's a nice flavor & the spice does not linger at all.
We knew this place was good when we were on a food tour at a different place & a random local guy said to come here.
Delicious!
The chicken was juicy & the fries wasn't oily. The combination was the salad was perfect.
This portion for 18 dollars totally worth it!
Great food at Ma Poule Mouillée. Chicken, fries, & salad were all really good. Very crowded place, but definitely worth the wait.
Ma Poule Mouillée is easily one of the best spots in Montreal if you're craving truly tasty, satisfying chicken. It absolutely lives up to its reputation as a TripAdvisor-recommended place, & after my visit, I can see why it's so popular.
I ordered a salad, poutine, & their famous chicken, & the total came to a little over $40-well worth it for the quality & portion sizes. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, & cooked just right with that signature Portuguese-style flavor. The poutine was rich & indulgent, loaded with toppings & full of bold taste, while the salad balanced everything out nicely with fresh ingredients.
One of the things I really appreciated was that you can actually see how they cook your food. It adds a level of transparency & trust, & it's honestly fun to watch the process. You know you're getting something freshly prepared right in front of you.
The service was fast & pleasant. Even though the place was busy, the staff handled everything efficiently & kept things moving without sacrificing friendliness. That said, be prepared-there's often a line of people waiting, which says a lot about how good the food is. Seating is limited, so it's not the best spot if you're looking for a long, relaxed dine-in experience.
Overall, if you want delicious, fresh chicken & don't mind a bit of a wait, this place is a must-visit.
