I love:
- Poutine with Chicken & Chorizo: This was incredibly flavorful & the portion was very generous, we actually had to take the rest home to enjoy for a second meal!
- Calamari: It tasted very fresh & was grilled to perfection. It could maybe use just a tiny pinch of salt to fully bring out the flavor, but I really liked it!
Nice to have:
Egg Tarts: These were just okay. They can be skipped unless you are really craving something sweet after dinner.
I got the small poutine & I must say that in a world of inflation & shrinkflation, this is not a bad price at all! They pile on the toppings & fill the container to the brim. They also don't cheap out on the chorizo & chicken. Overall it is a little salty for my taste. I also got a Portuguese tart & it totalled to $17-$18.
Walking into the restaurant it was a little chaotic, the restaurant workers were rushing around as it was super busy so you can either ask them to order or wait for them to ask you. After they take your order, you just move down the line to the cash register where you can buy pastries.
Definitely worth the hype, I got the chicken poutine & its by far my favorite!
Rotisserie chicken was moist & flavorful. Nata was also good, not overly sweet. Didn't care for the poutine thou, lacking flavor & seasoning. Just get the chicken. Ordering was a bit confusing for a first timer visiting. Place your order with the chef & then you pay at the counter. I won't go out of the way if you only have a few days in town.
Tried the poutine, couldn't finish it, generous serving of their fantastic chicken. The restaurant itself is small with a limited section of seating, but there is a gorgeous park a few blocks away to rest & eat at. Service was orderly & friendly. We beat the lunch rush but there was already a line by the time we left. Try the chicken poutine.
So, I've heard Montrealers claim this place has better poutine than La Banquise & I came to test that
So here's the thing: the poutine is awesome, Quebec has high standards for poutine. Is it the best? Not in my opinion but don't take that negatively.
What is the highlight is actually the chicken sandwich, my goodness, that was Amazing & I'd come again for that!
Absolutely delicious food & definitely worth the wait. The charcoal-grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. The portion sizes here are huge!
The small poutine was more than enough for two people to share. This place offers amazing value for the money. You get a lot of food for what you pay, & the quality doesn't suffer because of it.
There's almost always a lineup, & it's easy to see why. The food is consistently good, the portions are massive, & it's one of those places that keeps you coming back.
Highly recommended & worth it!
The food is very good. It lives up to the hype. The chicken has great flavor. I liked the Poutine with chorizo & chicken. It was well made with great flavored gravy, the cheese was fresh, & the fries had the right blend of crispiness & mushiness. I waited in a long line, but it moves fast. It is worth it for a first time, but in the future I will call it in for take out. The line is a bit much for frequent visits.
Absolutely fantastic poutine. We have tried many poutine places & this ranks one of the top. The smoky Portuguese chicken is juicy & delicious on its own but when added to a poutine, the flavors blend perfectly with the gravy, curds & fries. There was a little bit of a wait but the line progressed fairly quickly.
Nous avons commander une taille normal d'une poutine on la partager a deux, mais c'était beaucoup trop on aurais du prendre la mini. Je recommande
