Le restaurant L'Orignal a ouvert ses portes l'hiver 2008 afin d'accueillir touriste et montréalais. Dans un décor de chalet, nous vous emporterons loin de la ville tout en étant au coeur du Vieux-Montréal. Notre cuisine est constituée de repas campagnards avec une touche moderne. Possédant une variété de cocktails et une compilation de musique unique dans son genre, L'Orignal est beaucoup plus qu'un restaurant local.

Visited montreal for two days but very glad I came here among a variety of options. The owner is very personable & the bison burger is great. Highly recommend & will be back
We had the most fantastic meal. The atmosphere is comfortable & unpretentious, & both the quality of food & the service is outstanding. Bone marrow was a decadent appetizer. Beef tagliatelle & the Duck special were decadent but not overwhelming. Highly recommend & we hope to return.

We had the chef's choice dinner option & we highly recommend it, but any experience here is well worth it! The staff are amazing & incredibly friendly! We loved our dinner here & we'll be back!
Très belle découverte ! Le restaurant a une super ambiance & le service est vraiment chaleureux. Les plats étaient délicieux & bien présentés, on voit que les ingrédients sont frais. L'équipe prend le temps de s'assurer que tout est parfait pour les clients. Je vais définitivement revenir & recommander la place à mes amis.
Best steak I've eaten in a long time. The place has a relaxed atmosphere. The owner is a great guy & friendly to boot. The poutine with truffle is to die for! Greatly recommended for family & friends.
Un endroit à retenir, nous y sommes allé pour la soirée du nouvelle ans. Repas 4 services je recommande fortement. Nous avons passé un agréable moment en famille.
Highly recommend for a cozy dinner. We shared the mushroom toast, Brussels sprouts, tagliatelle, salmon special, & the sticky toffee. Dishes are on the smaller side but the flavours & quality outweigh the size. Service was fantastic, too.

Love the atmosphere & decorations. The service was excellent & the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend this for groups to share tapas. Everything was awesome! A gem in the city!
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience! I ordered the braised beef cheek & it was incredibly tender, full of flavor, & cooked to perfection. My husband had the bison tomahawk & he was genuinely amazed - easily one of the best meals he's had in a long time.
The place itself is very cozy, almost like a warm & inviting chalet, which made the whole evening feel even more special.
To top it all off, the chef came by our table to say hi, & he was truly awesome & friendly, passionate, & clearly proud of his craft.
Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for exceptional food, a cozy atmosphere, & a memorable experience!
Lovely vibe & setting. Feels like a very warm & friendly cabin or traditional pub. Enjoyed the beers on offer & the food. Burger was good, Poutine with truffles a nice twist & the escalope was huge. Several groups of locals in, which is always a good sign. Recommended.
We recently had a work dinner at L'Orignal & everyone loved it! The ambiance was warm & inviting, the food was outstanding, & the service was top notch. We even bought the sweatshirts to commemorate the evening as everyone enjoyed it so much. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Food was outstanding. The service & interactions with staff were even better. Felt truly cared for. Can't wait to come back & will recommend to everyone.

We were here for dinner with colleagues & everything was excellent. We had many of the menu items & all of it was great. The service was also amazing. Above & beyond on a very busy night. Highly recommend!
Very good food in a cozy, homey setting. Would definitely recommend reservations. We didn't have any & were told we could have a table if we were able to finish in a little over an hour. Since the food took a bit to get we ended up skipping dessert & any extra drinks to try to honour that (& because the hostess was clearly anxious for us to head out & handed the waitress our check immediately after we finished our entrees) We had the bone marrow, schnitzel, & lemon risotto. My husband liked his schnitzel but said he preferred the risotto overall. The Moscow moose is really good too. If we are ever back in the area we'd consider stopping again for the friendly service & tasty food.
We are in Montreal on vacation & we were looking for the best poutine. After reading some reviews we gave this a shot. It was absolutely phenomenal. I have had many poutines but never as good as this. The gravy is a truffle gravy with some spice & Smokey flavour. We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which also was incredible. The service was top notch & it was a very charming atmosphere. 10/10 recommend!
