Restaurant L'Orignal opened in the winter of 2008 to a warm welcome from locals and tourist alike. The room is decked out in chalet decor, and is a little getaway to the country...in the middle of Old Montreal. The kitchen turns out local farm dishes with a modern look. Best steak I've eaten in a long time. The place has a relaxed atmosphere. The owner is a great guy & friendly to boot. The poutine with truffle is to die for! Greatly recommended for family & friends.

Lovely vibe & setting. Feels like a very warm & friendly cabin or traditional pub. Enjoyed the beers on offer & the food. Burger was good, Poutine with truffles a nice twist & the escalope was huge. Several groups of locals in, which is always a good sign. Recommended.

Lovely cosy restaurant with great service let down by food that wasn't quite up to snuff. I think they may be trying too hard to make the dishes stand out. My tagliatelle was good but not great being somewhat overpowered by truffle or whatever it was. Would I go back? Probably, but if it was the same I wouldn't again. Prices are OK for these days.

Feels like home... Great food...we had kale parmesan salad, bison burger truffle oil fries wi garlic aoli. Leane our server was awesome... the music from the 80 was just right.

We are in Montreal on vacation & we were looking for the best poutine. After reading some reviews we gave this a shot. It was absolutely phenomenal. I have had many poutines but never as good as this. The gravy is a truffle gravy with some spice & Smokey flavour. We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which also was incredible. The service was top notch & it was a very charming atmosphere. 10/10 recommend!

Absolutely delightful place. Exceptional food, exceptional service, exceptional atmosphere. I'd go back in a heartbeat! The truffle poutine was special, the beef medialions were very tender, & the sticky toffee pudding was delish!
