We were seated at the bar which was fine but our waiter Michael was absolutely inattentive, rushed & never checked on us. He took forever to take our cocktail orders & dinner menu & we had to wait to find him to order wine as he had also taken our wine glasses away. To top of the extremely poor service he started pouring the wrong wine in my glass & I stopped him . Instead of changing the glass he just poured the right wine in the same glass mixing the wines then took off before I could say anything! He was no where to be seen to take our dessert order so we asked the friendly female server nearby & she brought us dessert menus & our dessert with Michael still no where to be seen &/or chatting up other customers he knew well & completely ignoring us. This was very disappointing for my son as he had wanted me to have the same experience he had as he had the montb before when. Be took his fiance there the night he got engaged getting engaged. The food was very good but a steep bill for such sub par /apathetic service with a waiter who showed absolutely no interest in giving us a good experience. He didn't even give us the bare minimum. Brutal for a restaurant of this quality.
Nous avons adoré notre expérience, les plats étaient divins! Mention spéciale aux desserts & surtout à l'équipe pour le service exceptionnel!
Fantastic meal shared with my friend from Venice. Oysters, main of black bass, fries (the best he's ever had). & that dessert... 5 stars indeed. Thank you Cecile & the reset of the service team for a great meal.
Bravo pour le service , le repas, très bien préparé, suffisamment copieux, original & en plus les desserts sont très bons, choses rare dans la restauration, manquait juste légèrement d éclairage aux tables
My wife & I had dinner there Saturday night & the food was delicious! The pork belly was tender with crisp skin. It was rich & salty. My wife had the cabbage with mushrooms which was surprisingly good for a vegetarian dish. We shared the market vegetables which were squash with butter & honey. I personally thought it tasted more like a dessert than a side dish but it was good none the less. My biggest criticism of this restaurant was that it is very dark. We used our phone flashlights to read the menue & when the dishes arrived we had trouble seing them. It looked like the chef payed a lot of attention to the details & it would have been nice to see what we were eating. I will probably try this place again.
The apps & dessert were amazing. I can't wait to try more. I love the patio. Our servers were awesome.
Liverpool House, located on Notre Dame St in Griffontown, is one of the better known eating establishments in Montreal, being part of the Joe Beef group. The restaurant is deceivingly large, entering into a large bar & kitchen area, then passing into, antoher room, then onto two large back patios & a third interior room. The back patios are wonderful to enjoy the warm summer months, surrounded by an array of flora & fauna; while the interior is much darker & dimmer...so both tastes are covered.
The menu is tight with an emphasis on meats (chicken, duck, beef, etc..) & some fish dishes. Four our meal we ordered the Parker House Rolls (very good...but a bit on the salty side), Steak Frites (very good), Lamb Shoulder (a huge dish & excellent, including the bone marrow...perfectly done), Chicken Bercy (also very good), Pork Belly (good), & the Market Vegetables (also very good...mostly carrots). For dessert we shared the multi-layer Marjolaine cake slice (also good).
Service was very friendly & informative although I did find it a bit tempered...however our section was full & there was a lot going on. Overall a very good food experience. Enjoy!
