I had a reservation & it was quite busy. The host runs a very tight & organized ship. The amount of people who walked in without reservations & the number of phone calls was endless. Make sure to make a reservation, many people without were told to come back 45 minutes-1 hour later. I sat at the bar. The stools are nice but do not move so you're sitting pretty close to your fellow diners. For my meal I had a white wine, Sanserre to drink. I ordered the Bone Marrow, Croque Monsieur & maple syrup Profiteroles. Marrow was good, Croque was comforting & fries crunchy. I think the Profiteroles were my favourite item. The bar staff were both kind, friendly, attentive (but not overly) & had recommendations when asked. As expected they were also all able to speak French & English. The establishment is very tight space wise & your very close to other diners. Additionally, I know they were busy but before I even took my last bite of my dessert, my bill was quickly slapped in front of me. So I guess that was the Express part of my experience. 🤷🏻♀️
We had high expectations given how highly praised this restaurant is across the internet. Still, the incredible goat cheese appetizer exceeded our expectations. The creamy goat cheese & crunchy crust pieces perfectly balanced out the sweetness of the caramelized onions. I enjoyed the chicken paillard, but it didn't balance flavors as well as the appetizer. Our waiter took a while to take our order & give us the check but the restaurant was very busy so thats fine.
Loved the food! The best saumon grilled ever! The canard aussi was great, & I don't know what there is with them fries here that are the best ever. The place was loaded, very busy so we had a sit a the bar, close to the kitchen door. It was like one episode of the Chefs, you can feel the level of professionalism, the tension (in a good way, they are working hard & with high standards in every dish). My only but is the ambiance, for this level of restaurant you need to modernize it a bit, a little soul in the restroom area also. The service was great .
Wonderful French cuisine that's always busy. Food is delicious & service is good.
Busy place with impeccable service. My husband had the herring & said it was exceptional. Fantastic coffee.
This is a very famous French restaurant in montreal. Strongly recommend to stop by!
No sign was seen, so you may need to look at the map carefully to find this place. The menu was written with a script that I was not able to read well, so I chose my menu from Google review pictures.
It is a busy place, I didn't expect to be very kind service. But they served better than I expected ^^
I couldn't make a reservation for our party, which was 3. (Recommed to make a reservation 1 or 2 weeks before you go for the dinner)Then I just walked in at their opening time. It worked. We could have seated at the bar.
The dress code was not mandatory. That worked for tourists.
I live in New York. None of the places can really beat the prices. For me, the food prices were very gernerous compared to its popularity.
