Discover Cambodian cuisine in this resto-bar located in Verdun. Located on one of the most beloved streets of Montreal, Street Monkeys is the perfect place to enjoy a dinner with friends or family.
Reviews paint Les Street Monkeys as a lively, stylish spot with a strong bar scene and a creative Cambodian fusion menu. Patrons praise friendly, knowledgeable service that explains the dishes in detail. Many dishes are highlighted as bold and inventive, including wasabi shrimp ceviche, stuffed wings, cod in amok sauce, papaya salad, and other bright, spice driven plates. Cocktails and mocktails are frequently praised for balance and originality, with several drinks singled out as memorable. Ambiance is described as vibrant and convivial, ranging from casual to upscale, though some find it loud or busy. Portions are sometimes considered small for the price, and a few dishes taste sweeter or oilier than expected, leading to mixed experiences. Occasional notes about a preset group menu and seating at the bar during busy periods, plus practical remarks about parking or comfort, appear in the reviews. Overall, it is regarded as a top choice by many and a reliable spot for dates and groups, with repeat visits and strong recommendations.
Bref, on recommande !!!!

Service incroyable du début à la fin. Nous avons demandé un service de dégustation & c'était vraiment très bon & d'une fraîcheur inégalée. Je vous recommande fortement ce petit bijou.
I would recommend this place for a quick drink & a bite , but not for a full course meal.
Sharing dishes is fine with us , but the cod & the scallops (42$) were served lukewarm instead of piping hot because they plate the food on cold plates. The taste was delicious. Avoid the beef skewers , poor quality meat , very stringy. The sticky rice was served in a weird little plastic bag, it was just plain rice ….. all & all won't go back , 200$ later & this being a birthday supper , a bit disappointing…
I also mentioned this to the waiter (cold food etc ), nothing … too bad it seems
Went early so the noise level was fine..
The atmosphere & the hospitality was amazing, food was top tier, it's a very precise & detailed space when it's come to culture, preservation, & cuisine. One of our favorite dishes was stuffed chicken wings, steak with prahok, & the amok . Wide array of traditional dishes while adding a modern twist. Would go again, highly recommend!

Normally I really love Street Monkeys & always recommend it to friends when they visit Montreal, but the pre-set menu that is required for groups over 8 really didn't showcase how good the food can be. I'm glad I requested the wasabi shrimp & I appreciate you accommodating for a pescatarian but I just wasn't blown away by the food we were given & wish the portions were a little bigger for a group of 10. I think everyone got one single skewer & one chicken wing, & a couple bites of the wasabi shrimp. I understand having to do this for bigger groups but maybe having a menu that the host of the party can pre-select from could be something to consider. Service & wine A+!
This was my second time there & once again it was a delectable experience! If you can handle the wasabi, I highly recommend the shrimp ceviche!!! The Amok cod is so delicious & a little cocktail- the main squeeze- just rounds it all off!!
Had one of the most memorable meals of the year at Les street monkeys. I highly recommend trying their seasonal items as everything is fresh & flavourful. Every dish was unique, saucy, full of flavour & highly enjoyable. The best dish of the night had to be the NATAING (seasonal dish: porc) but the fried chicken was memorable. I loved my cocktail (2ND BASE ON THE STREET) with notes of coconut & pandan. I can easily say it was one of the best coconut cocktails i've ever had. Impeccable service, nice ambiance & decor.

We dined here for the MTL à Table menu & everything was excellent. The appetizers & desserts were particularly divine. Incredible flavours! Highly recommend the house lemonade!
First time trying this restaurant. A little intimated by the Cambodian food but we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was, from the service, the food & the atmosphere. Will definitely got back. We highly recommend it.

I had high expectations after hearing great things about this place, but unfortunately, it really didn't live up to the hype. The food lacked flavor & was overly oily, which made the experience underwhelming (the beef sausage notably did not taste good!!!) We tried four different dishes between the two of us, & sadly, none was good-except for the papaya salad, which was just okay. Maybe we were just unlucky, but overall not good :( & very small portions for the price! Do not recommend.
Way overcharge with the fixed menu if you're not eating meat with no protein option whatsoever.
Essentially $60 + tax & service fee for $18 - $24 of food. (small medium size mushroom salad, a good sized papaya salad as well as a small plate of air-dried vegetables & a small helping of rice)
Combine that with a tasty but somewhat small portioned $17 cocktail & I left hungry with $100 less in my pocket.
Not recommended, for vegetarians or vegans anyways.
It's truly impossible to have a bad experience here. The chefs & staff are clearly passionate & in their element, creating an atmosphere that feels both professional & welcoming. Sitting at the bar offers a front-row seat to the culinary action-a bonus experience in itself.
The owners are consistently warm & attentive, ensuring that both the food & overall experience are top-notch.
This spot is a neighborhood favorite for a reason, so making a reservation is highly recommended!
