Diners encounter a curated selection of proteins finished with zesty lime, crushed peanuts, and house-made dipping sauces. This establishment remains focused on delivering high-quality, recognizable ingredients through direct, flavor-forward preparations that honor the roots of the cuisine. The focus stays firmly on the intensity of the seasonings and the precision of the ingredient preparation.
Les Street Monkeys is widely celebrated as a vibrant destination for authentic Cambodian-inspired cuisine, featuring a creative tapas-style menu that emphasizes fresh, bold flavors and masterful seasoning. Many patrons praise the restaurant for its friendly, professional staff and lively atmosphere, noting that sitting at the bar provides an engaging view of the kitchen in action. While the food is frequently described as exceptional and perfectly balanced, some diners feel that portion sizes can be small relative to the price. Although the energetic environment is a highlight for many, it occasionally leads to high noise levels that some find distracting. Despite mixed feedback regarding value and occasional service inconsistencies, it remains a popular neighborhood gem for those seeking unique culinary experiences.
It's a little on the loud side inside but the food & experience were very good. The wasabi shrimp ceviche was a fun experience, but there wasn't much flavor beyond the wasabi (horseradish). The Twa Ko sausages were simply amazing, & the scallops fried rice...the scallops were perfectly cooked & for that reason I'll say it was great, but the fried rice was nothing special. I maybe expected a little bit more given the complexity'advertised'. The cocktail with tamarind & spice in it was extremely good as well.
Worth the experience, it's a great place to have tried!
