Les Madeleines d'Emilie is described in these reviews as a cozy boutique cafe devoted to madeleines where the rotating seasonal flavors keep things fresh and exciting; the pastries are praised for freshness, variety, and a delicate, often indulgent texture with favorites like caramel salé, pistache framboise, and vanilla; service is described as friendly and welcoming by many, with several customers noting attentive staff and a window seating vibe, while a few experiences mention shortfalls such as limited selection at closing time or uneven service. The shop is often highlighted as a standout destination in Montreal for madeleines and even as a must visit, with some noting gifts and boxes for celebrations and the option of savory varieties and hot chocolate or coffee to pair with the treats.
We recently visited Les Madeleines d'Emilie in Montreal & absolutely loved the experience!
They specialize in the famous French little cake'Madeleine' & there are so many different flavours to choose from - both sweet & savoury ones. It was honestly hard to pick just a few because everything looked delicious!
The place itself is super cute, cozy, & very well located. Perfect for stopping by for a coffee & a small bite, but they also offer beautiful little boxes to take home, which would make such a nice gift idea.
Another really cool thing is that they can prepare customized flavours & larger quantities for parties & special occasions.
Friendly service, charming atmosphere, & a unique concept that's definitely worth discovering in Montreal. We totally recommend stopping by & trying a few different flavours!

They have their own variety of madeleines & they look amazing! But the taste of the madeleine itself is not the same that you have in europe. There is smtg missing but that is the same everywhere in Canada. The place in itself is a super small shop.
I had been hearing about this place for quite some time, so I finally decided to stop by & see what it was all about. Honestly, I loved it. A shop dedicated to madeleines is such a unique idea in Montreal.
I love that they change their madeleine selection with the seasons. It makes you want to come back & see what is new. Everything tasted incredibly fresh &, yes, it definitely felt like a guilty pleasure in the best possible way.
I also tried their artisanal hot chocolate made with chocolate ganache, & it was amazing. Rich, smooth, & probably one of the best hot chocolates I have had in years.
Absolutely amazing Madeleines. I wouldn't have thought that one can push the concept as far as they did in terms of composition, consistency & taste. Absolute masterminds of Madeleine creativity!
