What better way to spend a beautiful day in Montreal than with a spectacular lunch at Lemeac? My wife & I had reservations for lunch & were seated in a cozy area on their patio. The place was bustling, but it really had an intimate feel. Right on the street. The menu was French, but with a little bit of a twist. The escargot, for example, was in a rich, light green sauce that was just the best way to serve them. No snail shells flying out of those tools they give you. Just great escargot, floating in this wonderful sauce. Our entrees were perfect, wine & beer cold & dessert was special. Their location is great as well & talking a walk afterward will help burn the calories!

Le brunch de la fin de semaine est un ravissement de la vie, surtout si vous choisissez l'assiette de boudin.

Magnifique restaurant à la carte simple & aux plats savoureux. Excellent service. & lire du Serge Bouchard sur les portes des salles de bain a quelque chose de joliment irrévérencieux.

Recommended by a native, Michelin rated & just fabulous! We were fortunate to enjoy summer weather & hence, dined on the terasse.
Best Duck Confit I've ever had. Extensive wine list & happy-to-serve wait staff.

At this price point I expected a whole lot more. When we arrived it wasn't very busy & yet we were not greeted by a hostess or anyone for about five minutes. Staff was walking right past us & didn't even acknowledge us waiting to be seated. Finally we got sat at what had to be the smallest table in the restaurant. Even the salt & pepper shakers could barely fit on the table. I was concerned things were going to fall off. This was our anniversary dinner so I would have liked at least a bit of privacy.

We order the crusted goat cheese & smoked herring for appetizers. The goat cheese & the herring were great & delicious, however the salad that came with both tasted quite funny. Almost as if the greens were spoiling or not washed at all.

My wife had the grilled hanger steak & I had the roasted duck breast. The duck was great. The broth & dumplings were great too. The salad was just ok. Nothing special just some sautéed bok choy & ribboned carrots.

The steak was disappointing. We had told the server at least four times we wanted medium rare. It seemed like she didn't understand. When the steak came I was pretty shocked. It was barely rare. Almost blue rare in the thicker part. I'm honestly surprised my wife ate it. The fries were nothing special & very under seasoned.

Chocolate cake banana popcorn dessert was pretty good. I didn't enjoy the caramel popcorn in it but the rest was wonderful. My wife did enjoy the popcorn though.

Overall for this price point, I expected a LOT more. Maybe a Tuesday evening made a difference but I was pretty disappointed.

Would not return.
