Le Surcouf is a welcoming French restaurant established in a Victorian home for over 45 years now. Dominique and the chef Serge will be pleased to help you discover the fine French classic cuisine. In the fall the restaurant offers a special game menu in addition to their regular table d'hôte that you create yourself.
Guests describe Le Surcouf as a warm, charming French dining experience with superb food and attentive service. Across visits, the menu delivers classics such as foie gras, filet mignon, rack of lamb and seafood, all beautifully prepared and presented, with some noting the table side crepes Suzette as a highlight. The wine list is celebrated as extensive and well priced, complementing the cuisine. The setting feels intimate and festive with multiple cozy rooms and artful decor, perfect for celebrations and romantic dinners. Staff are repeatedly cited as friendly, professional, and thoughtful, able to accommodate dietary needs including gluten free options. Although evenings can be busy and occasionally noisier, the overall ambiance remains warm and welcoming. Regulars describe Le Surcouf as a West Island gem that consistently delivers high quality and value, making it a go to for special occasions and casual meals alike. All in all, the experience combines traditional French cuisine with refined service and a memorable atmosphere.
Quel bonheur de revenir au Surcouf...accueil chaleureux, repas succulent, service impeccable & amical dans une atmosphère sereine ; le temps s'arrête & nos palais se laissent envoûter par les saveurs incroyables des bons plats du chef. BRAVO! On y retournera bientôt...

This restaurant has been our regular haunt for the past 26 years. Always has wonderful food, & a warm fireplace in the winter months to add to the ye olde world cozy atmosphere. A veranda section is equally great in summer or winter. Their Bistro menu makes it reasonably affordable, but does not compromise on quality of the cuisine as is offered on their a la carte, both of which have always been most enticing. Last night's experience was equally enjoyable with my two French guests, whose culinary senses were fully satisfied with the main course of pork with camembert & apple sauce, & cuts of beef beautifully presented, accompanied with a nice bottle of the house Bordeaux, followed by their killer profiteroles, & mi-cuit de chocolat as finishing desserts! Highly recommended for anyone who likes a great night out, one you will remember for a long time to come.
Toujours 5/5. Je viens ici depuis plusieurs années & la nourriture & le service sont toujours excellents. La cuisson des viandes est parfaite & les sauces sont raffinées.

The food is always prepared perfectly along with the best service possible.
I have eaten here for over 5 years & it's always excellent. It never disappoints.
This experience was very nice, the service is welcoming. We had the wild mushroom escargot, the pepper cognac filet mignon & the chimichurri onglet with a side of lobster tail. The meat was cooked precisely though the side of season vegetables were simply steamed. This is very boring considering it's a 65$ order, I believe there was a lack of creativity on that front. Some of the decorations were nice with local artists paintings. The paint white paint was chipped & looked cheap. Usually this wouldn't bother me but considering this is the top of what st Anne's has to offer, I'd like to see a good paint job.
