Restaurant Le Pégase in the popular Le Plateau district is an excellent restaurant offering a fine traditional French cuisine which will seduce you. Le Pégase specializes in a range of gastronomic French delicacies cooked to the perfection. At Le Pegase, you can also bring your own wine ! The decor is of an elegant French Bistro look, the atmosphere is very pleasant and intimate which makes it a very good choice for spending a romantic evening or for a get together with friends, all while feeling you're in France. With a very friendly atmosphere and sumptuous home made specialties you cannot ask for better.
Le Pégase is described as a cozy, intimate French bistro with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a small, friendly dining space that feels like a gathering with friends. Guests highlight generous set menus with excellent value for money and the option to bring your own wine with no corkage fee, which enhances the overall experience. Dishes are celebrated for being delicious and thoughtfully prepared, from tender beef cheek to lamb, duck and bison options, with desserts such as crème brûlée and pavlova earning praise. Service is frequently noted as warm and accommodating, and the overall vibe is charming and convivial, encouraging return visits. A few reviews mention occasional crowding or temperature challenges and a few slower moments, but the prevailing impression is of high quality French cuisine, generous portions, and a delightful, welcoming atmosphere that invites a repeat visit.
The food is very good considering the prices & the good portion sizes. Overall it's a very good value in addition to bringing your own wine. The service is great as well.
Went to Le Pegase with a friend. We had the soup (4 star), croquette de boudin (4 star) & escargots with blue cheese (5 star), the lamb (4 star) & bison (4 star), the creme brulee (5 star) & the pavlova (4.5 star). But I forgot my 2001 valdicava brunello in the wine cooler; it went down to 11 C & lost its greatness.

It was our second time here & my partner & I both love this place. So small & intimate. I love that you can bring your own wine! The food comes out quickly & service felt very personal. The only thing is that we wish the menu changed more! There were a lot of similarities to when we went last valentines.
My husband & I visited at least 3 times during our 3.5 months living in MTL :) Unpretentious, chill, ambient, affordable but with excellent quality of food. They won't rush you like most of the resto by having a dinning time limit, & you can bring your own wine!
I never really went to french bistro after I came back to Vancouver ;( Miss this place so much 🍷
Fabulous fabulous fabulous. Made a reservation for 2 & brought our own wine (no fee for corkage, be sure to bring your own though bc they don't sell wine). It's a set menu so you get ~4 courses included & the prices range from $55-67. They were out of the soup for starter so we had to pick salad, it was fine. The salmon tartare was amazing but the beef profiteroles were meh. For our main plates we got the lamb chops & bison steak - both a 10/10, amazing. The crème brûlée was to DIE for. I would eat that as my death row meal. The chocolate death thing was also good. Ended up spending ~$167 with tax & tip for the two of us. Worth it for this succulent meal.
- Bread: Cold, butter softened, chicken liver pate - phenomenal. I could eat it all.
- Soup. Rutabaga, very clean, flavourful & perfect hotness for the mouth.
- The froe grois: Cold like a stick of butter.
- Creamy, smooth, bread was lightly toast very airy. Apricot citrus balance & roasted peanuts.
- Duck breast: cooked medium, it could be rarer. Flavour was on point. Very full with the potato like root in bottom. Crispy skin. Demi-glaze. Beans carrots & Bok choy.
- Crème brûlée: thin sugar brûlée on top. Creme was creamy with a touch of French vanilla. Maple syrup.
- Chocolate mousse : nice presentation, too sweet. It didn't need the extra caramel or chocolate sauce on top. The peanuts complimented the texture & taste.
The portion size for each dish is very generous. Cost to Quality to quantity 👍🏻👍🏻
We noticed many people brought their own wine to pair with the food.
Food came out quickly, after each dish was served.
Restaurant is very cozy & quaint. There is barely any room between the neighbouring tables. When the server was at the other table, his butt bumped into my arm twice. It was rather firm.
I would Highly Recommend it this restaurant to everyone.
I will come back.

Such a gem in Montreal! Very affordable BYOW (wine only!!), set menu option. My friends & I really enjoyed it, & the staff was really delightful. Everyone loved this place, & this is certainly a highlight of our trip.
Brilliant French bistro. Incredible four-course dinner. Do remember to bring your own wines as there are seemingly no drinks menu. A sin not to have wine aside.

For about 75$ (tax & tip included) we got a great 4 course meal. The portion of food you receive for the relatively reasonable price was what stood out to us. Also don't forget to bring your own wine
What a charming restaurant! A hidden gem in Montreal with a cozy atmosphere. Tables are very close to each other but it only makes you feel like you are invited to a big gathering at a friend's house. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous & the prices are very affordable. They don't sell alcohol, so make sure to bring your own wine. & there is no corkage fee which is fantastic. The service was perfectly balanced - thoughtful without being intrusive. We are definitely going back to try other things on the menu which is constantly changing.
A good & small French style restaurant. Bring your own wine since they do not sale wine. The quality/ price ratio was correct. The server didn't ask us how we would like our meat (we had lamb & duck breast), & they were almost raw & unpleasant to eat. Otherwise, thing were ok overall

Unassuming, homie dishes. Friendly neighborhood restaurant. You can bring your own wine. Small space. The complimentary warm baguette slices with butter & liver mousse at the beginning of the meal were nice. Got the butternut squash soup, mini croque monsieur with duck confit, bison bavette, chocolate mousse. My friend got the salad, boudin noir puff pastry with pear compote, duck breast, tart tatin. With tax & tips it was ok.
So authentic & cozy! This place feels like you're sitting in your own home with an amazing chef preparing your meal. The food is really tasty. They offer a fixed menu where you choose your starter, main course, & dessert. Pègase is a bring-your-own-wine restaurant. The dishes could compete with those from a fine dining establishment-they are super tasty. I was so happy with the service; everyone was incredibly friendly.
Highly recommend you book a spot in advance, the restaurant is a little bit small but there is a good amount of seating. I've been here a few times & the authentic French food & service is always great. I recommend bringing your own bottle of wine to go with your food since the restaurant does not have alcohol for purchase. The servers will help you uncork it & put in a container of ice to keep it cool, all free of charge.
A gem of a French restaurant. Each dish was fantastic. Excellent quality & freshness of ingredients prepared to perfection.Ambiance is nice , not too loud, friendly attentive staff. The only problem with our dinner was that our wine was corked! LOL, so next time we will bring a second bottle. Lesson learned!
