Review Summary

Le Nil Bleu is described as an exceptional Ethiopian dining experience in Montreal, with flavorful, authentic dishes that showcase rich spices and generous portions, and a tasting menu that allows guests to explore a wide range of flavors. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and inviting, with attentive, friendly service that makes guests feel welcome. The vegan options are highly praised, and the presentation and quality of ingredients are frequently highlighted. Occasional feedback mentions slower pacing or busy periods, but the overall experience is considered memorable and well worth a return visit, confirming it as a standout in the city.

I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant, the music, lightning & workers was nice. Really clean also. I'm putting two stars out of 5 due to really high prices & really small portions. I ordered a vegan serving for two including an entree to share for two & everything was so small... Note: the vegan option was not more expansive than the meat option. It was delicious though & really pretty to look at to take photos but it was a scam. Ended with a 87$ receipt & not even a half stomach full. We finished going somewhere else after to be able to feel satisfied. Queen Shaba on avenue du Parc in Montreal do way better than Le Nil bleu. Bigger portions & more decent prices. Even the alcohol was more expensive than most places I went in Montreal for Ethiopian foods.

Even the wait to finally be able to eat took 35 to 40 minutes at least. Really slow service.

I'll never go back at Le Nil bleu ever again.

It was my first time to dine in & try Ethiopian food, & surprisingly, it was so taste. Highly recommended for sure! The ambiance is so cozy & clean, & I love the design of the toilet. The crew & servers are so polite.

Had the tasting menu, if you are new to Ethiopian cuisine, would suggest to take this. The portions are enough. Some of the items could have been better. Overall a good place to visit. It gets quite full, reservation is recommended.

Smaller portion than competitors for a higher price. Not a fan of the filet mignon & the lentils which had too much black peppers for me (lentils are usually my favourite dish at Ethiopian restaurants). Everything else was great, especially the Doro Wat, the mousse & the eggplants.

Delicious food. Excellent service & ambiance. I brought my husband here to celebrate his birthday as we both enjoy Ethiopian food. What was also great was seeing so many people from different places enjoying themselves as well. It was a lovely time.

We first discovered Le Nil Bleu when staying at the Kutama Hotel ( which we also recommend). We had never tasted Ethiopian food before & it was love at first bite! This trip we were in Montreal for 2 nights & it was our dinner choice for the first evening.
Food is exotic & very flavourful. Service is friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness.
We highly recommend Le Nil Bleu!!

Omg best Ethiopian food I've ever had. That eggplant appetizer was amamazung & the vegetarian sampler was soooo good. Good beer selection & amazingly helpful & fast wait service. Great part of town too! Easy parking.

This was our first experience with Ethiopian food & we really enjoyed it. The ambiance / decor was nice & we were able to take the Sampler platter which allowed us to try a variety of different dishes at a very reasonable price.

We loved our dimner. We have eaten in many Ethiopian restaurants in many parts of the world & this one ranked in the top two. The vegetarian platter was wonderful, as were our Margueritas.
