Bon, comme avant. On avait assez à manger. Les vins africains sont de bonne qualité Le Chenin blanc est très agréable. Les cocktails sont toutefois moins généreux qu'auparavant & peut-être moins excellents. Les desserts sont très bons. Le service est agréable, & le lieu, calme, un dimanche soir, très agréable aussi. À quatre, avec vins, cocktails & desserts, on s'en est tiré à 70 $ par personne.
This is a fantastic restaurant. The service was fantastic, friendly & prompt. The food could not have been better. We've had Ethiopian in NYC & other places & this is easily on the list of best places. The spices, flavors & bread are great. Servings are very generous. We had way too much food, in fact. We ordered the tasting menu of meat & veggies for 3 people & the vegan platter for 1 person (which is such a great option, usually tasting menus have to be for a whole table, this allowed us so much freedom) - & we could not finish it all. We didn't have room for dessert. The wine menu is good, not great & the house cocktails tend to be based in fresh juices so they are sweet. & when they say spicy, it actually is - which is so great, usually restaurants warn, but it's kinda not spicy. The diversity of flavors was so fantastic I wish I could have eaten here all day. Eat here, go here, enjoy your evening. Oh, & the serving staff is so nice!
first of all, a big thanks to Le Nil Bleu for accommodating a party of 10 with less than 2 hrs notice. food is INCREDIBLE, service is 10/10, fantastic value for the money, even the desserts were amazing. the tasting menu was a fantastic choice, & there is a vegan version available. all dishes are made without nuts, as well. can't say enough good things about Nil Bleu, from really great food to warm, welcoming & attentive staff. 5 stars!

J'aime beaucoup la nourriture du Nil Bleu. C'est une belle expérience culinaire & belle ambiance.
Par contre, nous étions proche de la sortie d'urgence avec une réservation. J'ai trouvé cela désagréable. Il faisait froid & on était loin de tout.
Le spécial st valentin offrait une table d'hôte avec comme dessert une fondue au chocolat pour 15$ de plus. Je croyais que c'était une fondue servie à la table. Il fallait se déplacer jusqu'à l'avant du restaurant pour deux brochettes de fruit & le chocolat n'était pas fameux.
Reservation process was simple & straightforward. Everything was excellent as always. The only downside is that it was crowded (perhaps typical for a Friday evening). We were a couple seated in between two big, loud groups, & the tables were close, so we could barely hold a conversation. I wish we'd been seated a bit further from the others. We would've stayed for dessert but decided to leave for this reason.
Good food & friendly staff, but not very attentive service. We finished out first drink before the main meal, & weren't offered another one. Also very slow to clear empty plates & check on us for dessert.

Absolutely delicious! The ambience was wonderful with piano playing & people smiling. The service was great & so friendly & even offered us free dessert but we were too stuffed from our massive incredible dinner! 100% adding this place to my favourite restaurants! Plus we're vegan & the fact they had a whole section for us to choose from is very cool! Yummmm
I went here last night for my Birthday. We ordered the tasting menu & it was amazing. We paired it with several drinks & it made for a wonderful night. They brought me a small dessert with a sparkler & sang for me. It was very nice & we will be returning again. I highly recommend this restaurant
Bon alors pour commencer cette merveilleuse soirée, on s'installe à notre table prête à consulter cet énorme menu presque aussi grand que la dimension de la table. Nous avons chacun commandé une entrée & un plat principal, toutes excités à l'idée de goûter une cuisine inconnue.. Jusqu'à ce jour. Pendant notre attente, on nous propose une serviette chaude, qui sent une odeur de linge mouillé qui a macéré dans l'eau durant plusieurs heures. Bref, notre entrée arrive, rien à dire c'était succulent. Mais alors là quand le plat principal arrive, une grande assiette ( on a combiné nos plats ensembles ) avec une salade au milieu, mon plat de poulet avec une sauce berbère & un oeuf dur & d'un autre côté de l'agneau sauté avec des légumes caramélisés. Le tout a été posé sur une grande crêpe & des crêpes roulés étaient disposés autour de l'assiette. On a mangé, une bouché histoire de connaître le goût, une deuxième, histoire de décider si on apprécie ou pas & une troisième histoire de se convaincre qu'on a pas mis 16$ dans un plat qui n'est pas apprécié par nos délicates papilles gustatives. Mais, alors là, il n'y avait aucun plat pour sauver l'autre. L'agneau était dur, on devait le mâcher 15 fois avant de l'avaler. & que dire de cette fameuse sauce berbère qui m'a l'air d'un mélange d'épices du monde entier qui a été mixé dans le but de créer une saveur unique. Total fail! Nous sommes tous deux africains & on sentait la fraude niveau authenticité. On te met deux morceaux de poulet qu'on recouvre d'une montagne de sauce, comment vous dire que cette sauce épaisse avec un gout ma fois très chelou, pardonnez l'expression, étendue sur une crêpe doit faire en sorte de vous mettre une multitude de saveurs dans la bouche! Fail again. Le coup des crêpes ça devient redondant. On se lasse très vite à tartiner notre sauce. Pour essayer de masquer l'arrière-goût de notre plat on commande un dessert. Il nous a été servi sur un papier mouchoir mesdames & messieurs! J'ai pris le chocolat vanille matcha. Quelle déception, le chocolat n'avait aucun goût de cacao, le matcha aucune similitude avec le matcha. On n'arrivait pas à cerner si c'était de la crème, du pudding congelé ou bien de la crème glacé. On y réfléchit encore. Bref, si vous décidez de venir y faire un tour je vous propose les options végétariennes elles avaient l'air plus appétissantes. Mais surtout éviter l'oeuf trop cuit. Au plaisir :)

Un petit bémol: dommage de devoir manger le dessert sur des serviettes en papier... une petite assiette aurait suffit à faire la différence & à sauver des déchets....
Wonderful food & atmosphere, excellent service, ambiance that invites lingering. I've been coming here for 3 years & it just keeps getting better. I recommend the tasting menu + dessert cake.
J'ai été dans ce restaurant plusieurs fois & à chaque fois le service est assez mauvais. Je continue à y aller parce que les mets sont quand même exceptionnels mais là je crois que je vais arrêter.
La serveuse est incapable de sourire. C'est un de ces endroits où ils pensent que la qualité est associée à une attitude indifférente du type "je suis supérieur, je suis élégant & je souris pas" Au point où on était presque mal à l'aise à lui poser des questions. Ce n'est pas juste une fois, mais à chaque fois que j'ai été. Honnêtement j'ai été dans des restaurants meilleurs & plus chers où j'ai été accueilli beaucoup plus chaleureusement.
À part le café (pas bon), les desserts (juste des mini-gateaux, pas vraiment une découverte éthiopienne),& le piment en poudre que l'on a eu lorsque l'on a demandé s'il avaient du piquant, je n'ai aucun reproche quant aux aliments. Les entrées étaient excellentes & les plats principaux étaient tous vraiment bons. Ils ont juste à travailler leur attitude & à faire attention au service.
We have been going to the Blue Nile for about a decade now. Birthdays, celebrations, visitors from out of town- you name it. There have been some glitches from time to time but when we complained (food came cold a few times), the problem was quickly corrected.
But we have never been there on a Monday night. This time, we happened to go on a Monday night. BAD IDEA.
Only the manager working as a server, with one helper to clean the tables. Waited for the meal for a while- not unexpected, we were willing to be patient because it was a Monday night & they were short staffed.
When we placed our order, as soon as we finished, I was chatting for about 10 seconds- I was mid-sentence & the manager walked away. Really? I was just saying how it was our favorite restaurant & we were celebrating a birthday. Two sentences, & she walked away. I was shocked.
The shock continued. No extra bread & it was obvious we were running low. We asked for the dessert tray & waited. & waited. & asked the helper. & waited. Finally, we got the dessert.
Took the fun out of our night. We were celebrating a birthday. Sad & disappointed.
I understand that staff is short on a Monday, but if you cannot afford to provide proper service, close on Mondays! Bad service is NOT ok & makes us think twice before going there again on a NON Monday night!
