This was my second time going there with my daughter & we get first class service, I was impressed! The inside was Warm & cozy, Lovely decor, Very classy & romantic. The food was AMAZING!!! & still the same, still great, The hummus was different than others I've tried, also the injera was so so delicious, everything we ordered was delicious. The staff were very friendly & helpful making recommendations. The Bathrooms are very interesting too. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Montreal who want to try something new! It is the best Ethiopian food we have ever had We will return. Five out of five. Well done! I read the reviews & people complaint that the service is slow ,it was quick for me & I am satisfied.
For the past 20 years, this has been my go-to whenever friends & family are visiting Montreal because I can trust that the cuisine & the experience will be impeccable & spectacular. I am amazed to see that Le Nil Bleu has only gotten better since the pandemic, with even bigger & more diverse sharing platters, even more perfect & varied spice blends & an even more impressive wine list. I can't imagine the reviewers saying that the service is poor or slow. I've never once had a problem in all these 20 years. We are always treated like special customers & have often been offered a free dessert or digestif. I've never had a problem being served the wrong thing even when our party has been large & the restaurant has been full. If you want a fast food meal with a tablecloth on the table, go to one of the myriad "smashburger" joints. If you want a culinary journey to one of the world's richest cultures complete with tasteful decor, enjoyable music (sometimes live!) & healthy, delicious food that can please meat eaters, gluten free eaters & vegans all at the same table, at pre-pandemic prices, look no further!

We passed in front of this restaurant, countless times, & every time told ourselves that we would one day plan to eat there. Well that they came, & it was our anniversary. We shared the platters & enjoyed all the dishes, the chickpeas were delicious, so where the lentils & the lamb was tasty. The decoration inside is very unique & felt like it transported us to another country. Beware that some of the food is quite spicy & as you can see from the pictures, there is a lot of eating with your hands using the fluffy, rolled up, crêpe that you see in the images.

Ce restaurant Ethiopien m'avait été recommandé par ma fille, fine bouche, très sélective en matière de restauration parce qu'elle apprécie la cuisine très raffinée. Elle fait régulièrement le tour des meilleurs restaurants ... Nous avons donc décidé d'y aller pour la fête des mères! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons tout de suite été pris en charge par le serveur souriant & avec un uniforme irréprochable. Le restaurant est très accueillant, très propre & très bien organisé. La décoration avec ses tableaux africain, ses sculptures de bois représentant des personnages africains nous font plonger dans un continent tout autre (décor chic orné de zébrures & d'art africains)! Le choix des couleurs sans oublier ces chaises zébrées... Bravo! Mais... revenons à notre gastronomie!!! La nourriture est EXCELLENTE, RAFFINÉE & tellement délicieuse! Les plats principaux sont servis sur l'injera, un pain plat traditionnel éthiopien.... un délice! Que vous soyez végane ou omnivore, le menu dégustation en deux services rassemble les sélections du chef & les plats les plus populaires afin de vous offrir le meilleur de la gastronomie éthiopienne! La présentation est très sophistiquée! & les prix sont très abordables pour la qualité des plats & du service.... J'y retourne sans tarder car tous mes amis & proches veulent découvrir... Un régal pour les papilles gustatives! Sa réputation n'est plus à faire c'est certain! Ne passez pas à côté..... Nora

I wish the review option let me put a 4.5 - this is a fabulous restaurant with lovely food that feels quite authentic - the decor is lovely & it is clean - they have some very interesting juices & cocktails - & the sharing platter has served us well on both recent visits. Very nice service.
Reservations are highly recommended, & the seating is comfortable.
Acceuil chaleureux, ambiance relaxante & décors magnifique.
Nous avons commandé le repas à partager & c'était une explosions de saveurs !
Des plats uniques & bien relevés pour les amoureux des épices !

Le personnel est très chaleureux & le décor est magnifique!! Le seul petit hic est que je trouve les portions très petite pour le prix. Sinon, les viandes & légumes ont très bon goût!!

This place is a gem. The decor although very modern remains truthful to its origin. The food is very traditional & authentic, leaving one wanting more.
With a very subtle ambiance & an extremely attentive yet discreet staff. We will definitely go back.
