Pastries were okay. Pistachio eclair didn't really have much pistachio flavor - just tasted sweet. The passion fruit mousse & the chocolate croissant tasted nice & had great texture. The brownie was thick & chocolatey, but also gritty. Overall, I'd say that all items were priced reasonably. When I came in, I wasn't greeted by the person working despite me saying hello first. Customer service/overall vibes were definitely lacking, & she seemed miserable/bothered to be interacting with me. Not sure if many people who look like me (Black people) stop by this place...but based on my experience I'll be visiting another gluten free bakery the next time I'm in Montreal.
Love a gluten free bakery, & this one is no exception. It's tough seeing the pasteries around Montreal & not being able to partake, but this helped us feel included. We ordered delicious empanada, which we ate right away (served warm), & then we also got croissants to go, both sweet ones & giant savory sandwiches we could take with us. Definitely recommend visiting here if you are celiac or gluten free.
When it comes to gluten free pastries, I've not seen a single bakery that comes close to what you can get at Boulangerie Le Marquis. I live in Ottawa but always come here when I'm in Montreal. I've had a lot of the tarts, but the Pain Chocolate & Croissants (both gluten free) are certainly the best. The dough is actually laminated, the way you'd expect a croissant to be. So many gluten free bakeries have let me down on that front but this is not one of them! You can buy them fresh or frozen. They store well in the freezer for up to a few months & are easy to reheat. Pictures attached are the pain chocolats reheated in the oven with an egg wash.
It was toasty warm in here but the croissant was heaven I almost didn't notice my sweat 😅 I wanted to get one of everything! The croissant was so good I had to go back & get another. Best gluten free I've ever had.
My favourite gluten free bakery I have ever been to! I've been all over downtown looking for good ones & this is my favourite spot. The people are lovely & food is incredible. My dad & I are celiac & have never tried a croissant as good as that one! The sandwich's are also our fav

J'ai commander chez eux sur ubereats une baguette sans gluten & un croissant aux amendes. Les deux produits était congelés & non consommables. Très déçu.

Please open one here 😭😭 I'm ruined now because it's not even worth it to eat croissants in Calgary once you've had such a high quality one from Marquis!

Tous les ans, quand je vais au Canada à Montréal, je me rends dans cette boulangerie sans gluten car j'ai la maladie coeliaque. J'ai toujours le plaisir de retrouver les baguettes, croissants & autres pâtisseries qui me rappelle le goût du vrai. Cette année, j'ai dégusté les éclairs à l'érable, j'ai adoré. & toujours servi avec le sourire.

This is the first time in nearly 3 years that I was able to have a treat that tasted good without dairy or gluten. My almond croissant was absolutely delicious & I think I might need to move to Montreal
I was in gluten free Heaven. I'm celiac & haven't had anything this tasty in over a year. The croissants were amazing!! I also loved the savory empanadas. I so wish we had things like this closer to Belleville. Thanks for the amazing food!
AMAZING GLUTEN FREE DELIGHTS. Got myself a big bag of GF croissants 🥐 to take home. & the desserts are so so beautiful & yummy. Go feel in heaven at this place if you’re gluten free or have celiac. It’s a dedicated GF facility
